POPSFacebook Ramping Up For Expansion: Recruiting Employees As Facebook ramps up hiring from about 1,000 employees today to as many as 1,200 by the end of the year, the social networking giant is recruiting technical and business leaders from some of the best known firms in Silicon Valley to help accelerate its financial performance.

POPSFacebook: The Movie! Some serious heavyweights tapped to direct, pen, and produce Zuck's story. I can't help but think both Facebook and Twitter will see some major bumps in new users on the heels of this release. If there is such a thing or term as "social network capitulation" - that is, the majority of hold outs who finally join the party - this movie might just be the catalyst. Now, anyone want to offer up a suggestion on who plays Zuckerberg? Here's mine...

POPSOutsourcing Venture Capital decision-making Interesting twist on crowd sourcing decisions. Not quite crowd sourcing but getting a dozen unique entrepreneurial minds to decide what new businesses to invest in. Is this the future of Venture Capital? We'll all be watching how well these companies pan out in the coming years to see if this is a viable model.

POPSWhy Facebook Won't Listen! This is one of the best written articles I have ever read. If I am understanding it correctly, FB really doesn't care about "we the little people" because they are making billions...and in the long run, the owner of a prosperous company does what is best for the company. Period. I'm supposing there simply are not enough petitions I can sign saying how bad FB sucks right now cause I can't "find all my stuff" anymore - so I better just quit whining about it.

POPSMark Zuckerberg doing it his way I don't necessarily agree with everything from this blog post, but the idea that too many internet companies simply try to do what people want - instead of having a vision that you believe in and stick to - is something i agree strongly with. I can't claim to know all the reasons behind the decisions Facebook has made recently, but i like that they're innovating and evolving in bold ways and standing behind their decisions.

POPSFacebook rectifica Había decidido la red social apropiarse del material que personalmente subieran sus usuarios, pero la protesta de muchos lo hizo retractarse del cambio de estatutos

POPSFacebook Retracts New Terms of Service they seem to be making a habit. it's almost as if they're saying "let's try this and see if anyone notices" and then they pull it back when people get together and make themselves heard.

POPSFacebook Rebellion Forces Readjustment of Privacy Policy
Facebook tried to profit by breaking privacy policy which sparked a quick revolution of sorts demanding "privacy, or else". The idea of profiting on others' personal information, especially by manipulating "consent" via fine print, is repugnant. The idea in particular that a social networking site would attempt to sacrifice its loyal members privacy for profit, especially in the growing age of ID theft and internet predators, is telling of the company's top management, whether they repealed it or not. No doubt they preferred to get away with this for financial gain! Mass protest works. This message should be heard loud and clear that privacy matters most and people are beginning to stand up for it, against its abuse by both government and the private sector. Government agencies as well as banks, credit check companies, and even the government agencies have been reported to have lost key identification files of customers and clients.

POPSMark Zuckerberg's most important statement about Facebook's intentions Integrity is key. Thanks to FB for reverting back to previous TOS while working on new language. Also, thanks to the user's uprising that alerted FB to need to take this action. For now, I'm going to trust the process - holding out for honesty, trust and the continuation of a great social networking site. Read more on The Facebook Blog.

POPSFacebook 'paid out $65m' over stolen idea claims Mr Zuckerberg, a second year student at the time, took their code and their idea and launched Facebook in February of 2004 instead of holding up his end of the deal, according to ConnectU's lawsuit. Facebook and ConnectU founders, in the company of lawyers and advisers, negotiated a settlement that includes Facebook buying ConnectU for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock, according to court documents. A condition of the deal is that all parties keep details confidential or pay a multi-million-dollar penalty. The lawsuit was seen as a threat to the existence of Palo Alto, California-based Facebook.
