After the Bernadotte murder, David Ben Gurion disbanded Lehi and arrested its members for being members of a banned organization. But miraculously, they were all released five months later under a political amnesty. No one was ever charged with the killing. Lehi’s brave members revealed their participation in the assassination in 1977 after the statue of limitations had expired.

‘Israel of the Caucasus’ and just as warlike!!!

The list of Israeli personnel involved in either supplying arms to Georgia or training elite Georgian military units speaks volumes for the extent of Israeli involvement in a country to which it feels close psychological attachment. Kezerashvili's ties to Israel have been well known since his father told the biggest-selling Tel Aviv daily, Yediot Ahronot, a year ago: "He has a lot of friends to this day in Israel, and he has maintained good relations with them." Recently, his pro-Israeli sympathies have been fortified by Saakashvili's typically over-the-top description of his country's role in the face of Russian aggression as the "Israel of the Caucasus"

"You don't simply bundle people onto trucks and drive them away ... I prefer to advocate a more positive policy ... to create, in effect, a condition that in a positive way will induce people to leave." Ariel Sharon, quoted by David Bernstein in Forcible Removal of Arabs gaining support in Israel", The (London) Times, August 24, 1988, page 7. Cited in Imperial Israel And The Palestinians: The Politics of Expansion, by Nur Masalha; Chapter 2, footnote 117. "I would have carried on autonomy talks for ten years and meanwhile we would have reached a half million people in Judea and Samaria." Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Shamir in an interview with Joseph Harif, for Ma'ariv, 26 June 1992; cited by Avi Shlaim, "Prelude to the Accord: Likud, Labour, and the Palestinians," Journal of Palestine Studies, p 23 (1994).

Mossad agent tells tale of exploit.

"When the freighter anchored at Casablanca for refueling, the pair worked together to plant a palm-sized electronic device weighing about 1 kilogram on the stern of the vessel's hull about one meter below the waterline. "Ross stood watch while his fellow agent dived and completed the job in about 20 minutes, Ross recalled. They had poured whisky over their clothes and intended to pose as drunks if discovered by guards, but they finished the job without being found. "An air strike or missile attack was supposed to be made within two days of the tracking device being installed, but Ross received a message from the Mossad headquarters immediately after the scheduled date for the bombing that the plan had beencanceled at the order of Israel's then Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, Ross said. VillageVoice: Jewish Terror Stern Gang & the Nazis
righthand
by righthand  7-21-2007
The Germans declined to take Stern up on the offer, but Stern held out hope as his organization continued to engage in terrorism against the British. After Stern died in a shoot-out with British police in 1942, his mantle was picked up by future Israeli PM Yitzhak Shamir. Still, the Israeli underground focused on the British as the greatest of all evils, and in Nov 1944, Lord Moyne, British minister for Middle East affairs, was assassinated in Cairo by members of the Lehi, who were later arrested, convicted, and hanged. After the state of Israel was established, the Lehi, displeased with what it considered the too pro-Arab views of the Swedish UN-appointed mediator for Palestine, assassinated him; in Sep 1948, Count Folke Bernadotte—who, as a neutral diplomat in WW2, had saved thousands of Jews from Nazi death camps—was shot and killed by Lehi assassins, along with Serot, UN military observer
