POPSSingularity by 2045 - incredible life in a tamed world Other possible advancements from 2050 to 2100 could include colonies on Moon, Mars and beyond, finding and harnessing wormholes that break “light speed” barriers in extraterrestrial travel, and whisking information through time to meet ourselves at an earlier age, or go forward and see what the future has in store for us. It may even become possible to gather scanned minds from lost loved ones before their death enabling them to continue living in our time. How wild would that be?

POPSScientist reveals clue to wormholes Wormholes would have to be kept open by a so-far unidentified material with bizarre properties. This substance, known as "phantom matter", would have negative energy and negative mass, causing it to exert a repulsive effect. Dr Shatskiy's calculations indicate that as well as "opening the door" phantom matter would deflect light, providing a useful wormhole signature.

POPSWormholes on Earth? A wormhole device could be used to allow doctors to operate on a patient while simultaneously imaging the patient. Doctors could insert metal surgical tools into the tunnel area without disturbing the MRI machine's magnetic field.
