POPSPrime Time on the Internet is 11 p.m. Gaming is another big evening activity, but one that’s most intense between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern, coinciding with TV’s prime time for most Americans. Labovitz found a jump in gaming traffic at exactly 8 p.m. Eastern, and speculates that it’s caused by “World of Warcraft” players who arrange to get together then to tackle virtual monsters. And of course Clipmarks. :-)

POPSHome-based-business/work-at-home Business Scams How do you know who to trust these days? Should you regard everyone as being out to get you, or should you let your guard down and open up the door knowing that you face the risk of being ripped off by some smooth-talking-self-professed business guru?

POPSMen of the 101st Airborne Division Make the Jump of their Lives
On May 27, 1944, the paratroopers of 3rd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne waited at the railway station in Hungerford, England, for the trains that would take them to their D-Day marshaling area. The weather was unusually hot for May, and the men sweated as they waited in their steel helmets and jumpsuits. “Everyone was trying to figure out exactly where we were going,” remembers Amos “Buck” Taylor, a sergeant in the 506th at the time. “We knew it was probably going to be Normandy, but exactly where nobody knew.” Though the location of the invasion had not yet been revealed, the men had some idea of what Gen. Bill Lee, former commander of the 101st, had called “the responsibility ahead of us.” The past nine months had been a blur of grueling training exercises that had tested the mettle even of these men, elite volunteers trained to jump directly into the turbulence of combat. Their training had culminated in Exercise Tiger . . .

POPSDisgusted With Obama and the Democrats? - Bill Maher Says It All!
The Way Obama is acting, I am starting to feel like I did when the screwball FAR RELIGIOUS RIGHT AND NEOCONS were in power... I know we are going to get the REPS back in control again... they know how to SCAREMONGER and make the silly-ass, scaredy-cat people really SCARED. (scaremonger (n.) A person who invents threats to themselves and others everywhere. A form of critic looking for a lucky break to be proven right.{CHENEY} Typically praises other scaremongers, 1984, hates the government, organised religion and trading systems while freely using the produce of any. Quite narrow minded and insecure, but will attract a lot of sheep. .{CHENEY} from urban dictionary) Can you believe all this crap coming out of Cheney has made his poll numbers jump to 37... GOOD GOD, THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE! Anyway, I was watching Bill Maher "Real Time" show the other day and it was a good one... He hits the nail on the head so many times. I decided to blog it. http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com

POPSDoes America Face the Risk of a Fascist Backlash?
Consider: According to the World Economic Forum, forty percent of the entire world's wealth has been destroyed in the recent financial collapse. In the U.S. alone, between housing and the stock market, more than $18 trillion in wealth has already been destroyed. The private mega-banks that anchor the financial systems of the western world are bankrupt. This makes it all but impossible to jump-start the western world's economies which are heavily dependent on bank-system credit to operate. More than 10,000 homes go into foreclosure every day. More than 20,000 people lose their job every day. And the collapse is accelerating, developing its own self-reinforcing dynamic. Job losses breed foreclosures, reducing demand, leading to more job losses and further degradation of the financial system. None of the stopgaps designed to stanch the bleeding have yet worked. There is no bottom in sight. Meanwhile, debt has risen to astronomical levels. Reagan and Bush I quadrupled the natio

POPSJoin the Onething revolution! More: Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, each and every moment of the day there is one thing you can do to honor life, one thing that will honor you and the world you live in. It might be using cloth bags at the grocery store, not driving one day a week, reading a story to a child, or smiling at a stranger. We live in one world. Nothing can happen to you that doesn’t happen to me. Nothing can happen to them that doesn’t happen to us. For better or for worse, we are in this together. Let’s make it for better. Join the peaceful Onething revolution. As Gandhi said, "Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." I can't save the planet. Neither can you. Nobody can. But that doesn't mean we need to succumb to despair, or to decide that anything short of total success means failure. Do what you can, where you are, with what you have. The important thing is the doing.

POPSBLOW YOUR MIND: They are just now checking Sarah Palin's background Now, the Republicans will jump to the defense of Sarah Palin and her family, because she is one of their own. However, if they were liberals, these kind of disclosures would be used to crucify them. That sad reality is more than a little depressing. For instance, Obama is repeatedly accused of "not loving America," but unlike Sarah Palin, he never joined a party who's goal was succession. But the thing that really shocked me is that McCain seems to not be taking this seriously at all. Apparently, according to this article, they are just checking into her background NOW, after they put her on the ticket. Is this the kind of judgment we want in a President? Honestly, although I am still a McCain fan, this shocked and disappointed me that he didn't have enough wherewithal to have all his ducks in a row. It seems like he doesn't take running for President that seriously at all, which is too bad for America.

POPSSubway Miracle: Hero Rescue's Fallen Man On Tracks "He was trying to lift the guy up, but he was struggling because the guy who fell was bigger than him," Dijoseph said. With the help of someone on the platform, Kali hoisted the guy up. "I think within a minute after he got the man up the train heading Uptown came by," Dijoseph said. "If Kali hadn't moved him I truly … I really believe that the train would've killed him." The hero then jumped across the tracks again, back to his platform and his train home to his wife and two children. "People should help people," Kali said. "If all of us get along well in this world then we'll get a better world to live." Kali says he hopes to meet the man he saved one day, but so far he's not come forward. A NYC Transit spokesperson said the victim was reportedly intoxicated and taken to a local hospital.

POPSREALITY CHECK! There is a frightening new global trend of denial... Europeans think that they don't need to limit fishing... Car companies don't think they need to improve fuel economy standards... Bush thinks he can increase spending and cut taxes at the same time... Jingoists think we are winning the war in Iraq... Democrats think Hillary Clinton has enough experience to win an election... Polluters think that Global Warming won't really happen... Evangelicals think Jesus is coming back soon... Fundamentalists think they can win the war against modernity... The truth is: we're stuck with this world. The rules DO apply. No free passes. You have to face the music sometime. We must choose realism over comfortable delusion. Unfortunately, for now, wistful thinking will rule the day until we let it all collapse around us. Then we'll stand there scratching our heads saying: How could this happen?

POPSFerlinghetti's Poetry and Politics Ferlinghetti believes that the poet, like the artist, has a cultural role to play and a responsibility to an ideal outside of him or herself. In this way, Ferlinghetti views the poet as a sort of humanist shaman, dealing spiritual truths from the bottom of the deck in a cosmic hand of poker. But his poet does not flee from political commitment, but rather, she skips eagerly, jump rope in hand, to disturb the sleep of those who do not wish to be disturbed in the pursuit of happiness.

POPSRockMe. Online Music Festival
This is Me.dium's Dudeofmusic blog. I had a chance to chat with him, Rose Hill Drive's Jake Sproul and the the CTO of Pandora internet radio, Tom Conrad. I love Pandora and apparently, they love Me.dium. Me.dium's a browser add-on that allows you to see other people that are online the same time you are. It's hard to explain but it is a surreal experience. Within the browser client there is a chat box and a interactive "world" where you can see what sites other users are on and jump around from site to site with them... all while chatting together. RockMe. (http://rockme.dium.com/) is an event that harness Me.dium, allowing users to discover, meet and share their favorite artists. Get the browser add-on, http://me.dium.com/tutorial Interact with who's on your blog with the Me.dium widget: http://rockme.dium.com/ What will the browser applications of the future do?! POPSFriendly Dare Leads to World Championship What a remarkable story. Donald Thomas was a basketball player when his friend dared him to high jump one day. Now he's the World Champion. I was a high jumper for years -- to see a natural talent go out and clear heights like this with very little experience is breathtaking. Will make me think twice the next time someone dares me to do something.

POPSI Watch Al Jazeera English....Do You? It is virtually impossible to subscribe to the new Al Jazeera in the U.S or Canada. Many people in these countries, when they hear the words Al Jazeera, they immediately think of an Arab news channel that takes the side of terrorists in their reporting, and support Osama Bin Laden. They believe it spews anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric 24/7. But I subscribe to it via Jump TV online, and it is absolutely nothing at all like that. Al Jazeera has some of the best electronic and newspaper journalists in the world working for them. Their production values are A+ and the news, although presented from a different perspective, is in no way anti-American or anti-Israel, and treats all reports in a reasonable even-handed manner. I urge people to go to www.jumptv.com and give Al Jazeera English a try. I think you will find your horizons expanding just a bit more.

POPS"Clipmarks' Beer Guzzlers Club"
May 28th, 2007 is the official founding day of the the unofficial society; "Clipmarks' Beer Guzzlers Club". We're a secret society (shhhhh...), but it's not like "Skull and Bones", it's more like "We'll jump your Bones", but you get the idea. *LOL* The club celebrates (and therefore of course always toasts to) the love of the World's mightiest and most fun beverage; BEER!. :D I'm Chairwoman and {{betong}} is the Grand Master of Ceremonies and we have countless groupies and secret supporters in our ranks too. New members are automated added (even without their knowledge because we're THAT secret) if they have a clip that in any way mentions beer, so CBGC's true membership numbers are probably equal to that of a smaller European country. (Only the 33rd degree Guzzlers are aware of the precise membership numbers, because we're sooo secret, remember?) Welcome to CBGC and happy one month anniversary Guzzlers! You know who you are! (Some of you at least) Cheers!.
