POPSRecord crowds at Stonehenge for summer solstice celebrations more: Solstice celebrations have become a summer staple, alongside Wimbledon, Glastonbury and the annual gathering of public school pupils in Rock in Cornwall, at the end of the exams. Despite the complete lack of entertainment, the less than one in ten chance of seeing the sun and the incessant bongo playing, the solstice has attracted larger numbers every year since the stones were reopened to the public in 2000.

POPSBad Faith Awards 2008 Sit down before you read about Sarah, wiccan; though you have probably been laughing about it way before us.

POPSBanned Halloween Costume this is so stupid. If a person comes dressed as a witch, they have been banned too, because it might offend a wiccan- this is equally unfair. Although, if someone came dressed as a KKK member, they would be told to go home because they were glorifying them... will it never end?

POPSWhere bombs were born, birds now flock More than 4.7 million tons of low-level waste remain at Fernald in a fenced-off, 110-acre pile encased in thick liners and caps made of synthetic material, clay, rock and clean soil. The 65-foot-high, grass-covered mound snaking along an edge of the preserve is about the length of two Empire State Buildings laid end to end. The rest of the radioactive waste - more than a million tons - was shipped to storage and disposal sites in Nevada, Utah and Texas. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I can express a naughty thought, that I hope the toxic waste sent to Texas goes near Bush's home, and far away from Wiccan Texan.

POPSBeware the Wiccans Bearing Lawsuits Representative votes against Head Start, because they would not let him put in a measure that would have allowed religious organizations to exclude candidates who were not of that religion.

POPSWoman Celebrating Good Luck Stabs Herself Durring Wiccan Ritual Ironic, yes, funny for most but her, sure. However, maybe the accident saved her life by preventing something, like a car accident on the way home. There are endless chances that this led to good luck as much as i may have been bad. With that said, I am not religious. Just a thought.

POPSJune 20, 2008: Summer Solstice (Northern Hemisphere) Summer Solstice Fun Facts * Pagans called the Midsummer moon the "Honey Moon" for the mead made from fermented honey that was part of wedding ceremonies performed at the Summer Solstice. * Ancient Pagans celebrated Midsummer with bonfires, when couples would leap through the flames, believing their crops would grow as high as the couples were able to jump. * Midsummer was thought to be a time of magic, when evil spirits were said to appear. To thwart them, Pagans often wore protective garlands of herbs and flowers. One of the most powerful of them was a plant called 'chase-devil', which is known today as St. John's Wort and still used by modern herbalists as a mood stabilizer. Celebrated in the Southern Hemisphere on: December 21, 2008 at 10:04pm AEST.
