'Now We Have Proof' Jihadis Infiltrating D.C.

Noting that CAIR has tried to hide its strategy, finances, membership, internal disputes and much more from public view since its founding in 1994, Islam expert Daniel Pipes lauded "Muslim Mafia" for definitively exposing the "tawdry and often illegal inner workings of radical Islam's most aggressive organization in North America." "The revelations in this book should both put CAIR out of business and permanently discredit the Islamist cause," Pipes said. Undercover Along with declassified government documents, the book unveils thousands of e-mails, faxes and internal memos that were never meant for public viewing. "Muslim Mafia" also exposes the inner workings of the mob-like Brotherhood and explains its broader conspiracy of infiltrating the American government and "destroying Western civilization from within." "The evidence found in the investigation is incontrovertible," said co-author Sperry, noting that the book has more than 40 pages of footnotes and an

Remembering 9/11, Eight Years Later
merrie
by merrie  9-12-2009
the ideological battlefield. As someone who was galvanized into a political awakening and eventual transformation by 9/11, it has been disheartening to see the country slide back into somnolence. Indeed, I have wondered at times whether we have entered a post-post-9/11 age. I believe the memory still lingers in our collective consciousness, but it has retreated to the farther reaches. When one looks at history, this depressing pattern emerges time and time again. One has to wonder if human beings generally don't learn from history, but rather, are doomed to make the same mistakes over and over again. Jolted out of slumber every so often by horrific events, we then sink back into oblivion once the threat no longer seems urgent. A few will always stand on the sidelines trying to bring attention to the looming threat of the day, but by and large, we only listen when forced. Nonetheless, the fight must go on, for the alternative is far too frightening.

“When the discovery happened, the few people who were there and not involved in the war, went around and bought all the property they could and had outside investors come in,” Black said. “But the real heyday of the development happened from 1864-1870. It’s that 11-year period when the little river valley was the world’s leading supplier of oil. ”The “little river valley” in western Pennsylvania earned the nickname Petrolia. “I would see this as less of an anniversary to note for celebration and more of an anniversary to note how far we’ve come and the serious moment that we’re at right now,” said Brian Black, an energy historian at Pennsylvania State University and author of the book Petrolia. “Energy transitions happen and I argue that we’re in one right now and that we need to aggressively look to the future to what’s going to happen after petroleum.”

Why Europeans are Turning Against Obama
merrie
by merrie  7-15-2009    1
Third: With the cradle to grave security guaranteed by government and the lack of job creation, the level of permanent unemployment has remained in the double digit range and the birth rate has so declined that in most countries it is below replacement levels. Fourth: Nearly all Western European countries are now faced with inevitable bankruptcy due to the excessive entitlements. In the past ten years, some in Europe have begun to wake up and realize this path can no longer be sustained and changes had to be made on a gradual basis. However, as long as the United States was there, not only to defend Europe but also to be the dominate economic power in the world, time was certainly on their side. President Obama's policies have now begun to open the eyes of the most hardened socialist in Europe and the reality of world without the United States being the economic and military super power thus potentially ushering in the demise of Western Civilization

Consolations in a Dark Age
willhelm
by willhelm  6-5-2009    4
"But then there's the web. For 99 cents you can get a world-class performance of Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus. Or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Or a Shakespeare Sonnet beautifully recited by a great actor. Or Jan Peerce singing the Jewish cantorial liturgy. On YouTube you don't even need 99 pennies. You can get Borodin's elegiac String Quartet No. 2, the slow movement. Or Beethoven's 9th, the famous Choral Movement, performed by the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. The Sistine Chapel on Wikipedia; and with a few more finger strokes we can find out what the French Renaissance composer Josquin learned in the Sistine Chapel in 1494. Who says Western Civ is dead? This is absolutely unprecedented. Today more of us can more easily access the best of 20 centuries of Western Civilization -- the real thing, not the college course -- than ever before. And people are doing it all over the world -- as well as the usual dreck that passes for pop music thes

First Optical SETI Detection?
cakebelly
by cakebelly  5-14-2009    1
Even if he picks up the signal again - he's been scouring the same co-ordinates of the night sky on an almost daily basis since - the scientific rule book dictates he'll need to get it peer-reviewed before he can take his announcement to the world. "And that is a lot of ifs," he concedes. Has Bhathal made the first detection of an advanced technological civilization from an extrasolar planetary system? According to the article, Bhathal's OZ OSETI program is an optical SETI program searching for extraterrestrial laser bursts. The only optical SETI program in Earth's southern hemisphere, OZ OSETI searches out to 100 light-years -- an area large enough to contain at least 1000 stars and perhaps 20 times as many planets.

Now all he has to do is rehabilitate Churchill from that ghastly slur that Churchill wouldn’t do just about anything to save his people and even western civilization from imminent peril. Powerline. Because in a moralism born of utter naivete, Obama may not yet have figured out that in the heat of battle, in mortal combat, ugly things sometimes happen. Obama Veers Into The Daily Ditch -- Powerline Even if you are an intelligent man, reading Andrew Sullivan can make you stupid. It happened to President Obama this week. At his 100-day press conference, President Obama invoked Churchill rejecting the use of torture for interrogation in the days of the Blitz during World War II. Obama instructed the assembled multitude: I was struck by an article that I was reading the other day talking about the fact that the British during World War II, when London was being bombed to smithereens, had 200 or so detainees.

Obama: We are Not a Christian nation...But a Nation of Citizens
jatfla
by jatfla  4-7-2009    1
Christian nation/Judeo nation/Western civilization nation...he chooses to remind us all that we have NO roots, no values, no cornerstone of ethics. He's completely trashing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the 'founding fathers' supposition. How the mighty have fallen! While we sleep and go about our very important business, this man is undermining all that is our foundation and making us believe that he is taking the high-ground. I have no problem believing that we are a nation of citizens and not Christians...well duh!!! But can we just be patriotic Americans who put our Country FIRST along with our Sovereignty???

Shariah's Brotherhood by Frank Gaffney, Jr.
merrie
by merrie  3-18-2009    4
The Alliance is a UN-sponsored affair that reflects – as, increasingly do most things the United Nations is involved in – the views of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The OIC is made up of 57 Muslim-majority nations. Thanks to support from Saudi Arabia and its proxies, the Muslim Brotherhood has become a driving force within the Conference and their agendas largely coincide. Mecca declared: "The Conference underlined the need to collectively endeavor to reflect the noble Islamic values, counter Islamophobia, defamation of Islam and its values and desecration of Islamic holy sites, and to effectively coordinate with States as well as regional and international institutions and organizations to urge them to criminalize this phenomenon as a form of racism." Ominously, as part of its bid to "criminalize" Islamophobia, the OIC is seeking "deterrent punishments."
