POPSDiscovery of natural odors could help develop mosquito repellents "CO2 emitted in human breath is the main attractant for the Culex mosquito to find people, aiding the transmission of these deadly diseases," Ray said. "In our experiments we identified hexanol, and a related odor, butanal, as strong inhibitors of CO2-sensitive neurons in Culex mosquitoes. These compounds can now be used to guide research in developing novel repellents and masking agents that are economical and environmentally safe methods to block mosquitoes' ability to detect CO2 in our breath, thereby dramatically reducing mosquito-human contact." Woah, this is just great! This should be a great reason to celebrate, once thei're done with the repellent. I think there isn't one person in the planet who hasn't got mad with mosquitos at one time or another. Great news, just great.

POPSCheney Begins Fear-mongering Again, Pushes Terrorism Paranoia
After all, this propaganda has always worked so well. Just who is terrorizing for political ends, and who is trying to "change our way of life"? Irrational or ungrounded fear, paranoia, is the basis for lost freedom and dangerous policies of war and psychopathic aggression--like "preventive wars" which killed over a million in Iraq. Will Americans continue to believe this official "conspiracy theory", that "Islamo fascists want to kill Americans every day", despite no credible evidence outside of repetitious talking points? And while Cheney warns of a "high probability of nuclear or biological attacks", just who ordered the "unauthorized" take off of a B-52 from Minot AFB (see Clip) loaded with nuclear bombs? And where did Iraq gets its "biological" weapons materials (West Nile, anthrax, etc) but from the US? Oh, and just where did that Anthrax letter and material come from--Islamo fascists or from someone with access to Ft. Detrick Maryland?

POPSUganda Grants Amnesty to over 22,000 Former Rebels The former rebels, also referred to as reporters, were concentrated in the districts of Gulu, Kitgum, Pader, Nebbi, Yumbe, Moyo, Arua, Kabarole and Katakwi. Justice Peter Onega, the chairperson of the commission, said districts with high numbers of former rebels ought to receive specialised assistance that targets the vulnerable groups and the communities.

POPSEmerging Diseases The evidence is strong and compelling that the overwhelming majority of these new diseases have been intentionally bioengineered by the New World Order elites for purposes of population reduction .

POPSWhite House Releases Climate Change Report - But Only Under Court Order Once again, the Bush administration has to be forced to do their damned job. Among the findings: “An increased frequency and severity of heat waves is expected, leading to more illness and death, particularly among the young, elderly, frail and poor.” It added that deaths from cold would decline, but said uncertainties on both projections made it impossible to characterize the overall risk. It gave high odds (essentially a two out of three chance) that Lyme disease and West Nile virus would have expanded ranges because of warming. The report gave the same odds that some food- and water-borne diseases would also increase among susceptible populations, but said “major human epidemics” were unlikely as long as public-health systems remained effective. Sounds like they should get right on that -- which, of course, was the problem.

POPSVVH-TV News: Special Report on PLUM ISLAND Owned by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Plum Island lies just off the coast of the North Fork of Long Island. This otherwise uninhabited, woodsy island has a long history of controversy and secrecy, as Carroll so intricately details, and just may have put the millions of residents of the Tri-State area in utter danger of exposure to fatal animal diseases, including Rift Valley fever, West Nile virus, and even anthrax, time and time again. Lab 257 is a wake-up call to people to be more aware of what goes on in their own backyards.

POPSGiuliani Plans for Eternal War in the Name of Israel And how do the majority of Americans feel about this, well to quote from the article on last year "Summer War" this is the American reaction: "In the current conflict, do you think the United States should take Israel's side, take the side of Hezbollah, or not take either side? Israel's - 31% Hezbollah's - 0% Neither - 65%"

POPSWest Nile Mania I can't help but wonder each year when the same old stories are trotted out (about the same time as the great shark scares) just what is the motivation? The odds of serious consequences is so small to be practically non-existent but is this ever mentioned by the talking heads? Never. And "journalists" wonder why their credibility slips lower and lower.
