POPSBush War Policy, Oil Prices Chart Must see this oil price chart and pass it on! This article documents and graphically demonstrates the obvious that no one is saying, i.e the wars and war-mongering of Bush government are the main cause of high gas prices.

POPSIn the Heart of Darkest Africa... I hold no animosity to the proposed Conservative candidate and his brother, we all wish them well. The sentiments of notyeyavet I endorse. What is concerning is that if Mr R. Bell is such a concerned citizen, why is it that he demanded that one of his members of the Blackpool branch of the Royal Marine Association had to endure the time and cost of a 700 mile round journey, just to have access to the minutes of the Association meetings? If Mr Bell could not cope with the needs of 50 members, how will he cope, if he is elected, with the harrowing demands of 75,000 constituents? In the words of the Commando march ...In the heart of darkest Africa, Where no Yank has ever been, Lies... Well nothing changes!!!

POPSObscene Military Budget is much biger than Reported Legally see the article for the cuts behind the figures here: Now, imagine that, due to a little more Pentagon/Bush administration wizardry, even this black budget estimate is undoubtedly a low-ball figure. One reason is simple enough: The proposed $541 billion Pentagon 2009 budget doesn't even include money for actual wars. George W. Bush's wars are all paid for by "supplemental" bills like the $162 billion one Congress will soon pass -- so the Department of Defense's $34 billion black budget skips "war-related funding." This means that even the overall figure for that budget remains darker than we might imagine (as in "black hole"). The Pentagon not only produces stealth planes, it is, in budgetary terms, a stealth operation. If honestly accounted, the actual Pentagon yearly budget, including all the "military-related" funds salted away elsewhere, is probably now more than $1 trillion a year.

POPSGOA Finds Fraud and Fabrication in Pakistan Aid $5.6 billion to Pakistan since 9/11 that the Pentagon (again) cannot account for with any credibility. "Expenses have been exaggerated, if not fabricated", says the GOA report. Clearly there is black op and covert money channeling going on, while Congress just dishes it out when asked by the Bush administration. Secrecy is a sign of rogue government that cannot be trusted. Your federal taxes at work and unaccounted for.

POPSMcCain's Image Campaign: "I Hate War" (You believe me don't you?) Soft, sentimental music plays with this message. Playing now on a TV near you, including in small states like West Virginia as well as those listed as "battle grounds". This is quite a contrast to his "Bom, bom, bom...bomb, bomb Iran" to the Beach Boys segment here. Will the real John McCain please stand up? Going into war with Iraq had nothing to do with "keeping the country I love safe", whatsoever, unless you still believe Iraq was behind 9/11 and possessed WMD. These are neoconservative wars planned in advance of 9/11 and James Woolsey and Bill Kristol (key neocon and PNAC members) are among his advisers, and his foreign policy is called "rogue state roll-back"--i.e. more wars for democracy!

POPSA Way to End All Wars? De Waal acknowledges that “we have a tendency, and all the primates have a tendency, to be hostile to non–group members.” But he and other experts insist that humans and their primate cousins are much less bellicose than the public has come to believe. Studies of monkeys, apes, and Homo sapiens offer ample hope that we can overcome our aggressive tendencies and greatly reduce or maybe even eliminate warfare.

POPSThe Average German The average Teuton family goes on holiday for two weeks a year, mainly within Germany, although their favourite destination is Majorca. He (45 years old) is 5ft 10in, she 5ft 5in. He is invariably overweight (83.5 kg) while she (67 kg and 42 years old) has mid-length hair, has sole responsibility for running the household and likes horoscopes and diet books. They both like Harry Potter. Their favourite dishes - and these have not changed for years, despite globalisation's influence on the wide range of items now available - are lentils, curry wurst (sausage covered in curry powder and ketchup) and spätzle - egg pasta and schnitzel. Germans even have a nickname for being average, 'null-acht-fünfzehn' - '08/15' - the name of the standard-issue machine-gun used by Wehrmacht soldiers in the Second World War.

POPSIraq Contractor Shakeup A sort of good news/bad news thing. The good news is that Kellog, Brown, and Root (KBR) -- a Halliburton subsidiary who have really, really sucked -- is losing the exclusivity to its contract. The bad news is that it looks like it'll result in even less oversight, aggravating an already corrupt system of contractor funding.

POPSIt is time to "consider reinstituting the draft." Ahh the road to eternal war. Either you sign up voluntarily or the money-powers-that-be drag you kicking and screaming into it. Let's start the draft at the top income brackets and work our way down for a change. You want a draft so bad, then get your ass into the military and serve like the people you want to send to their deaths.

POPS$4 per Gallon Gas Pinching Low Income Families Worst This is forcing major shifts in spending and life changes as the cost of everything goes up respective to fuel costs, not just at the pump. This is pinching Americans, especially at lower income levels, while the well off remain careless and distracted. In turn this will increase government welfare spending, and force some out of their cars completely. All this to due dollar devaluation, due to heavy debt spending by government, printing money, to finance unjust and needless war-mongering abroad against countries that pose no threat to the U.S.. The poor suffer the most, as usual, who have the least to do with war policy, merely attempting to survive.

POPSIt Isn't Morning in America Anymore -- It's Dusk on Planet Earth - Part 3 The change required is much simpler, and costs no money. Just go on a spending strike and a travel strike. When money is short, its the time to stop spending (and borrowing), outside absolute necessities. Spend quality time on family and neighbors. Till some earth near you. Make it more fertile. Engage with nature.

POPSLoose lips sink ships. In her preoccupation of trying to clinch the Democratic nomination Clinton, doesn't even try to curb her attempts at machismo. Hillary's loose lips will sink ships. I can just hear her mimic Dubya's "Bring em on!"... According to politicians like Hillary WE THE PEOPLE are all just a group of ding-a-lings... (This phrase was coined as a slogan during WWII as part of the US Office of War Information's attempt to limit the possibility of people inadvertently giving useful information to enemy spies. The slogan was actually 'Loose Lips Might Sink Ships. This was one of several similar slogans which all came under the campaigns basic message - 'Careless Talk Costs Lives'. ) Hillary's faux lips on the economy: Follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwWulcPmjBw

POPSSlavery By Another Name I saw Douglas Blackmon, Wall Street Journal reporter and author of "Slavery by Another Name", on the Tavis Smiley Show tonight. I had never before heard about neo-slavery. According to Blackmon, the South was culpable; the North was complicit. Modern companies, including US Steel, profited. The system didn't come to an end until the 1940s, "partly due to fears of enemy propaganda about American racial abuse at the beginning of World War II." 13th Amendment be damned, this sale of "convicts" to private enterprises to pay of "debts" was perfectly legal until 1951.

POPSA Joke or a Fantasy Observing how McCain’s budget numbers simply don’t add up, Newsweek’s Daniel Gross noted, “McCain’s fiscal program is either a joke or a fantasy.” Now, McCain’s top economic adviser is admitting that McCain will essentially run away from the $400 billion budget deficit as president.

POPSGAO: Faulty defense accounting, 3rd year in a row Little accountability, transparency; cites large contractor billings in "miscellaneous" category; we really don't know how our money is being spent, or if contractors are taking us to the cleaners in the GWOT (global war on terror)

POPSExpenses At U.N. Balloon 25 Percent U.S. Demands on Body Help Drive Up Budget The additional funds in the latest request would be used to renovate the landmark U.N. headquarters in New York, fund war-crimes investigators in Lebanon and pay $100 million to build a reinforced, attack-resistant U.N. headquarters building in Baghdad. But they would also be used to pay nearly $7 million for a 2009 anti-racism conference in Durban, South Africa, which Washington believes would serve as a forum to bash Israel. Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, insists that the organization will have to find savings or live without its new programs. On the eve of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, Bush spoke before the U.N. General Assembly and challenged the institution to enforce the resolution requiring Saddam Hussein to disarm, suggesting that the institution's reason for being was at stake: "Will the United Nations serve the purpose of its founding, or will it be irrelevant?"

POPSAre we better off than we were eight years ago? When a country spends way beyond its means, eventually it will destroy the currency, and we're in the midst of a currency crisis. Our dollar is going down rapidly as we speak. It's because we have lived beyond our means. We can't afford the foreign policy that we have. We have to cut back. We have to live within our means. If we're going to spend money, we ought to spend it at home, and that is why we have to change this foreign policy. We can't afford it to do what we're doing today because it will destroy our dollar.
