POPSMatt Damon in 'Green Zone', Movie With Message About Iraq War "Bourne Goes to Iraq" or Loyal Army officer finds out truth and the real enemy which changes his mission against the "powers that be". Note in the clipmark from Wiki the producer intends this to be not merely entertainment but relevant commentary: "Film shouldn't be disenfranchised from the national conversation. It is never too soon for cinema to engage with events that shape our lives. Perhaps this is like Clooney and Damon in Syriana in that respect. Allegedly based upon this book here. , which has some real interesting "reviews" worth considering.

POPSOn Afghanistan, from Blackfive’s Deebow You dishonor the memories of the fallen and disrespect the families of those who continue to fight on by your continued excuse-making and endless consultation that serves no other purpose than to appear as if you are doing something, while searching in vain for what you perceive to be a better answer. Mr. President, deciding to do nothing is still a decision. I demand, decency demands, Americans who believe in victory demand, and most importantly, the American families with family members in the fight, who certainly have the most invested and unquestionably the most to lose demand that the politics, excuse making and dithering end and that you give the necessary support to the men and women who are bearing the battle and taking the fight to our enemies. I am not asking, I am telling you to listen to those with the knowledge and skills that can turn the tide of this rapidly resurgent enemy we face and to give them the resources they ask for.

POPS Obamlet What any prosecutor or defense attorney will tell you about jury deliberations … how long they’re out doesn’t necessarily tell you anything. It could mean they are trying really hard to convince themselves that abandonment will work … and to find a way to convince America and the world that an easy out is the considered, sensible thing to do. Or it could be that they know what they need to do, they are just afraid to do it. Afraid of the consequences of angering their anti-war lefty base, afraid of remaining committed to a war with a horizon past 2010 and 2012. But that’s about as charitable and optimistic a view as is possible, and assumes they actually want to find a way to do the right thing. Unfortunately, there has been little to indicate that is what they are interested in doing. What makes this less like jury deliberations and more like a Shakespearean tragedy, though, is that every now and then, a major player sticks his head out to shout something.

POPSWhat Side Are They On? A declaration of war against common sense? What this question says, in the context of this commentary, is that anyone who stands for an ethical America is on the wrong side. When I ask the question “what side are they on?” I mean it as asking why is America becoming a terrorist nation? Why do we have to keep rehashing the ethics of torture? The common sense is that we all want an America that is free from terrorism. We are all on the same side. The common sense is that the use of torture turns the torturer into a terrorist. It can have no other effect. The common sense is that torture is not the only way to get info out of someone. There are more humane methods. We have intelligence gathering protocols in place that have been working for decades without the use of torture. Why is anyone defending the use of torture now? What has changed that now makes it okay for America to compromise its ethics?

POPSChris Hedges: "We owe Nader an apology" According to Chris Hedges, progressives were sold a bill of goods with the Obama campaign -- empty slogans and no real pressure for change. I don't entirely agree, but I'm getting there. Clipped mainly for this: " he question not how do we get good people to rule -- those attracted to power tend to be venal mediocrities -- but how do we limit the damage the powerful do to us." POPSN. Korea Warns U.S. of 'Thousand-Fold' Military Action I really really can't wait until these savages realize their constant threats have reaped the consequences. When Stealth bombers aree leveling their nuclear sites and missile pads, government offices and the troops dumb enough to make a move into south korea. In the past threats have got them money, food, ect. only for them to renig after. But Obama and rest of world wise to them now so no more. So just keep up your stupid rhetoric you dumb savages, and reap the whirlwind.... Do some research and see what happened to Hitler and his dominating reign. And they were civilized, not cave people like you. And one last word in closing........................look up (well 2 words but your to backward to notice)

POPSN. Korea Warns of Nuclear War How much more is world going to stand back and let these savages make threats. Sooner or later going to wake up and find out the dummy's carried through with it. Then after millions lost finally act. Kind of like watching your toddler hold a match book over the stove burner. Eventually it will burst in flame. They are to primitive a society to even realize what thyy are playing with so to them they don't realize the outcome. I know for a fact tat as long as world behind us we could wipe them out in a day using only air strikes from stelth bombers. So i can not understand why the whole world is so laid back about this threat. Act now before to late. I'd hate to have to make a clipmark someday saying "see i was right"

POPS“Wishful Thinking” Is A Pretty Good Summary Of Democrat Policies Yup. But it’s a misnomer to call it “stimulus.” The “reality-based community” has a collision with reality: http://blog.american.com/?p=1310 Cohn reports how former CBO director and current OMB chief Peter Orszag pressured careerists to assume sizable savings due to proposed reforms. The problem is the bean counters did not believe the alleged savings were justified according to the available evidence…it is interesting that the reality-based Obama crowd, which promised to roll back the “Republican War on Science” is now arguing against what Cohn calls “a super-strict reading of the evidence.” Well, there’s science, and then there’s, you know, “scientific socialism.” Or maybe they’re just waging a war on math.

POPSIf Obama Cedes Ground to Cheney, We’ll All Pay a Heavy Price Excellent commentary by Gary Younge on why we need moral leadership. Americans are sorely lacking in moral leadership. For fear of being labeled unpatriotic, congress allowed an illegal war in Iraq. For fear of being labeled unpatriotic congress is allowing torture, an affront to America’s core values, to go unpunished. For fear of being labeled unpatriotic Americans are being forced to accept that patriotism is taking on a new face. It has now become patriotic to follow our leadership into an immoral abyss. It is now official: we rule out of fear rather than principle. If our founding fathers were alive today, this would kill them. Do we have the choice to turn this situation around? Yes. Do we have what it takes to pull it off? I fear the answer is no, but I hold hope that someone will find the ability to make it happen.

POPSOkie GOP Senator who does "Jesus Thing" believes it's OK to Lie Inhofe made the outright lie over and over in his commentary that President Obama had cut the military budget. Inhofe who believes his taxpayer funded trips to meet African leaders on a spiritual level is a "Jesus Thing" must believe Jesus approves of lying. The fact is that President Obama increases the military budget by about $25 billion. Additionally the military purchased every F-22 it planned to buy when the program begin and is now purchasng the less expensive F-35. Obviously Inhofe is a hypocritical turd who is concerned about the pork that won't be going to his home state. Additionally, Inhofe is a traitor for not supporting President Obama in this time of war. Neither did he support President Clinton when America's fighting men and women were in combat in Bosnia. What an f***'ing loser.

POPSHow Israel's Propaganda Machine Works As in past Mideast conflicts, both the media story line and political commentary here in the U.S. has closely followed Israel's talking points on the war. This has been an essential component in Israel's early success and in its ability to prolong fighting without U.S. pushback. Because it recognizes the importance of the propaganda war, Israel fights on this front as vigorously and disproportionately as it engages on the battlefield.

POPSRabbi: "If they don't stop after we kill 100, then we must kill a thousand," The letter, published in Olam Katan , a weekly pamphlet to be distributed in synagogues nationwide this Friday, cited the biblical story of the Shechem massacre (Genesis 34) and Maimonides' commentary (Laws of Kings 9, 14) on the story as proof texts for his legal decision. The former chief rabbi also said it was forbidden to risk the lives of Jews in Sderot or the lives of IDF soldiers for fear of injuring or killing Palestinian noncombatants living in Gaza. In the letter, Eliyahu quoted from Psalms. "I will pursue my enemies and apprehend them and I will not desist until I have eradicated them." Eliyahu wrote that "This is a message to all leaders of the Jewish people not to be compassionate with those who shoot at civilians in their houses."

POPSAbout the "Al Qaeda" Message to Obama, Too Convenient It was timely propaganda, but for who? CLG traces the timeline news reports of al-Zawahiri which demonstrates that the new "audio message" (faithfully shown by the MSM in Video format to American audience) should be held in skepticism since the death of "No. 2 Al Qaeda" leader has been reported previously, and the timeliness of these reports fits too well with neocon propaganda purposes, more than the alleged (and invisible) terrorists which billion-dollar military and spy agencies are unable to find. To do this subject justice go to the source of the clip to see the full reports and commentary laid out.
