The privacy of your communications and medical decision making with your physician will be gone. More of your hard earned dollars will be at the disposal of federal bureaucrats. It was not supposed to be this way. We elect the government. It works for us. How did it get so removed, so unbridled, so arrogant that it can tell us how to live our personal lives? Evil rarely comes upon us all at once, and liberty is rarely lost in one stroke. It happens gradually, over the years and decades and even centuries. A little stretch here, a cave in there, powers are slowly taken from the states and the people and before you know it, we have one big monster government that recognizes no restraint on its ability to tell us how to live. It claims the power to regulate any activity, tax any behavior, and demand conformity to any standard it chooses. The Founders did not give us a government like the one we have today. The government they gave us was strictly limited in its scope,

POPSHeading to Oslo in Weeks, Facing Tough Days on the Diplomatic Front for a vote on the United Nations Security Council. Earlier on his trip, in Singapore, the Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Loekke Rasmussen, the U.N.-sponsored climate conference's chairman, formally announced that he did not think there would be an agreement coming out of Copenhagen, and more negotiations will be necessary. Then, after meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in a side meeting in Singapore, President Obama acknowledged that US-Russian negotiators would almost certainly not make the deadline for a new nuclear disarmament agreement to take the place of the START treaty that expires on December 5. More frustrations followed . On Monday, Chinese government officials refused to broadcast live President Obama's Shanghai town hall meeting on state-run television. Thousands of protesters arrived by bus for the rally, which the GOP is calling an emergency “House Call.” The event drew the conservative “tea party” activists but unlike past rallies was officially sanctioned by House Republicans. Republicans want those who attend to track down their elected representatives in Congress and put pressure on them to think twice about voting for the more than $1 trillion health care overhaul pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. “They’re going to listen,” said Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who originally called for the rally. “The biggest voice in the United States is your voice.”

POPSIf You Can't Beat Em, Don't Count Them They hope to not only push the undocumented further into the shadows, but erase from the rolls a whole community of people, immigrant or otherwise, who are shaping the largest population shift this country has ever seen. The Republicans are not seeing past the idea that these people are "other" or that they are "foreigners" because if they did, they would realize they have the potential for attracting scores of first generation immigrants, who typically have conservative, Christian ideals and come from center-right countries.

POPS It's the Spending, Stupid By John Stossel But the income tax is big and visible, so it's a problem that a growing number of people don't pay, but get benefits from those who do. Frederic Bastiat, the great 19th-century French economist, defined the state as "that great fiction by which everyone tries to live at the expense of everyone else." I don't know if he envisioned one half of the population living off the other half. It's important not to confuse the interests of the taxpayers with the interests of the politicians and other tax consumers. Yet that is done all the time. When the government bought toxic assets (of zero market value) from the banks, it said taxpayers would profit when the economy recovered and the assets once again commanded a positive price in the market. Even if we make the dubious assumption that the government is savvy enough to buy low and sell high, it's not the taxpayers who would benefit from any profits. The politicians will spend every penny, rather than cutting taxes.

Margaret Sanger's beliefs about social works of charity are revealing: She criticized the success-- not failure-- of charity... She called for the halt to the medical care being given to slum mothers, and decried the expense to the taxpayers of monies being spent on the deaf, blind and dependent. She condemned foreign missionaries for reducing the infant mortality rates in developing countries, and declared charity to be more evil than for the assistance it provided to the poor and needy. Sanger's thinking moved to fascism in an elitist attitude that presumes to judge who is worthy to live and to die. "Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are they being targeted? Isn't that genocide? We are the only minority in America that is on the decline in population. If the current trend continues, by 2038 the black vote will be insignificant.

The individual must either abandon their old belief, or try to rationalize the dissonance. However, instead of holding the liberal Democratic operatives (often black themselves) who control the central city's school board, police department, mayor's office, and other institutions accountable and making adjustments in their vote to secure more desirable outcomes, the black flight progressives flee."

POPSNew Bill Will Prompt Drug Testing for Welfare Recipients I think the majority of tax payers would go for this bill. After all if you have to be subjected to random drug testing to keep your job, why shouldn’t those who live off of your tax dollars have to as well? No one wants to pay for someone else’s drug use. There is a lot of animosity towards people who collect welfare and buy drugs etc while tax payers work to support them. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying every welfare recipient fits this narrow view. But there are some that do. I like the idea that they would be sent through a drug rehab program instead of prison. But, who’s going to pay for that? If you agree with this, contact your member of Congress and tell him or her to support H.R. 3656.

Write a letter to the editor. Don’t let yourself be defined as “progressive,” “Conservative,” “Republican,” or “Democrat.” Recognize that men are in many ways existential. POPSThe Dumbing Down of America At times I feel fortunate that I live in a large metropolitan setting. But the veneer of intelligence is running mighty thin these days. Increasingly, the wink-wink politics of yesterday is once again raising its bigoted head around the south. As far as the Republican policy of late of pandering to the white male vote, I hope they keep at it. The deeper the hole they dig for themselves, the longer it will be before they gain power and start dismantling the gains the Dems have instituted. Yet, it is nauseating to watch.

Is this a bureaucratic snafu caused by a transcription error or a deliberate attempt to enforce the Obama’s new healthcare initiative where senior citizens must be re-prioritized because “best practices” indicate that any treatment of older Americans is likely to be less effective than the treatment of other segments of the population? POPSParliament again failing the Nation Is it not time that this discredited Parliament was put out of our misery and let the people speak. Make voting compulsory. Have an extra column which clearly indicates my/your wish not to vote for any of those participating. If and when that extra column becomes the majority opinion than all those who took part can be excused and another ballot takes place. That will be the first step towards real democracy. Secondly, kill this latest shameful act. Where is that lame cow Harriet Harman and all her promises that all accounts will be public and subject to receipts? There are millions of pensioners who will not subject themselves to means testing and live in poverty. For politicians to rub their noses in their enrichment and their abuse of privilege is enough to incite rebellion. Please. Do not vote for any of the main parties because they – the powerful and the glorious – are unfit.
