POPSFred Thompson Speech (RNC Convention) Once upon a time, Fred Thompson ran for president. His campaign was inexplicably late in starting and never got any traction. A lot of conservatives were disappointed because they were looking for a more traditional candidate to fill a perceived void. The choices in 2008 came down to Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain. We still do not know why Fred Thompson ran such a poor campaign, a question that will not be answered in his RNC convention speech. 'Character you can believe in' 3:02 video at website Fred Thompson says Sen. John McCain has the character that America can "believe in".

POPSMorale dilemma To Jailbreak, or not? I am undecided if I should Jailbreak my iTouch or not. I am curious if I'll need to download the music again. Has anyone tried? I think it's cool this dude is straight about the truth. Yet I don't find it to be a big deal or infringement of use that people use their devices as they choose. Hell, the software was purchased, the warranty is void, but does is it matter?

POPSLaw and Order in the virtual universes i think it is interesting the way a community is being built. from the article: "In 2006, Linden Lab, the creator of Second Life, canceled Marc Bragg's account for violating the world's policies on real estate deals. Bragg sued Linden, saying he legally owned the content he created in Second Life, including land and businesses. The suit was eventually settled, and Bragg's avatar was restored. "If a certain world allows you to be a thief, is it a crime or just an aspect of the game? Should real-world law apply?" there is much thinking to do, involved...

POPSDownload YouTube Videos as MP4 Files
Save the following link as a "bookmarklet" by dragging it to your Links bar (in Firefox, Safari) or right-clicking and adding it to your favorites (in Internet Explorer, Opera): to download the MP4 files, you need to use the same URL like for FLV files and append "&fmt=18": http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=ID&t=SIGNATURE&fmt=18 ID is the video's identification value, SIGNATURE is a value that prevents you from downloading the file just by knowing the ID. You could create this URL by looking at the source code of a YouTube page, but it's much easier to automatically generate it. When you want to download a YouTube video, click on the bookmarklet and you should see a new option below the embeddable code. Because YouTube doesn't send the right MIME type, you shouldn't click on the download link. Right-click and select "save link as" or "save target as" and enter a proper name for the video. Make sure to use the .mp4 extension when you enter the filename. YouTube's MP
