POPSThe War In Gaza Update 8.5 ~ January 4, 2009 For that same reason, Hamas welcomes the suffering of Palestinian civilians. According to a BBC report on Dec. 30, dozens of ambulances were dispatched by Egypt to its border with Gaza, only to remain empty because, according to Egyptian authorities, Hamas wasn't allowing wounded Palestinians to leave. Reuters reports that Gaza statement a misunderstanding -Czech minister. The WSJ Iran's President Has Much at Stake in Gaza Outcome. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll go visit Gaza now. From JPost Counterpoint: Collective responsibility vs. collective punishment. And now on to the blogs: The Muqata and Israelly Cool are liveblogging. So is the IDF Spokesperson. POPSWeb 2.0 links for the K-12 Teacher - a massive list! What it lacks in web design and being current, it more than makes up for with its depth of resources. Any educator, regardless of discipline, should browse through this list. A great resource for reaching the internet generation.

POPSRoundup of Flash-based video-blogging services This guy made fifteen-second videos on a bunch of those in-browser video-recording sites and posted the results. Some are already dead only a month later. He recommends Twango, Flixn and Bubbleguru. (Note that he misspells Flixn.com in his post.) At this very moment I am seething with rage because Windows Movie Maker crashed as I was finishing a very charming seven-minute videoblog entry about my kids. Lost everything. What a pile of crap. Gotta be a better way.

POPSHelp send Noneck Noel around the world My good friend Noel is planning to spend the next 7 months seeing the world. He's going to be bringing 2 important things with him. First, he'll be bringing his love of all things open - open conferences, open-source software, etc, demonstrating how people can accomplish amazing things by helping each other. Second, he'll be bringing his camera, and sharing the things that he sees and learns with the rest of us. I don't know if he'll make it to everything he plans to, but I'm anxious to see where Noel's journey takes him and watch as he goes. It's only 11.11 to chip in, I'm doubling down on the luck of seven myself tonight :)

POPSWin $25,000 for creating a single vlog post! $25,000 for a single video. For many of the folks I know creating "internet TV shows" that's a very significant amount of money. I have a feeling many of the vlogging luminaries will be taking a crack at this contest :)
