POPSMinimalist Art
Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features. As a specific movement in the arts it is identified with developments in post-World War II Western Art, most strongly with American visual arts in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Prominent artists associated with this movement include Donald Judd, Carl Andre and Richard Serra. It is rooted in the reductive aspects of Modernism, and is often interpreted as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism and a bridge to Postmodern art practices. The term has expanded to encompass a movement in music which features repetition and iteration, as in the compositions of Steve Reich, Philip Glass, John Adams, and Terry Riley. (See also Postminimalism). The term "minimalist" is often applied colloquially to designate anything which is spare or stripped to its essentials. It has also been used to describe the plays of Samuel Beckett

POPSI Met The Walrus In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message.

POPSThe Thing in a Jar!!! This is right up my alley. When I worked in FX, we'd make "things" all the time. Usually we would put it in a place where our poor victim would either have it touch him or confront him in an unexpected manner. I want to point out that NO ONE was ever hurt by these pranks, at least, NOT the pranks I was in on. Safety is extremely important as well as knowing when the Mark has had enough and knowing not to take a prank farther than a certain limit. I DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO PULL ANY MALICIOUS PRANKS AND NEVER TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS!
