POPSBecoming Evil: Accomodating Hatred And Violence
*Graphic Photos Warning* Although this article is 2 years old, it succinctly sums up the situation as stated in the title. Excellent reading. Commentary on Ann Coulter-isms follow: "And on March 3rd, they got to hear Ann Coulter, one of the headliners say: "Those few abortionists were shot, or, depending on your point of view, had a procedure with a rifle performed on them. I'm not justifying it, but I do understand how it happened.... The number of deaths attributed to Roe v. Wade about 40 million aborted babies and seven abortion clinic workers; 40 million to seven is also a pretty good measure of how the political debate is going." Coulter says that she isn't justifying violence -- but she is. She implies that seven deaths as against forty million means that the murders of doctors not only somehow rights the balance -- but are not nearly enough for anyone to make a fuss about. Her meaning is clear, even as her practiced rhetoric leaves her room for denial."

POPSThe Human Element I've known many sportsmen/women who love nature and hunting. Their efforts actually strengthen the deer herd by keeping the buck/doe ratio in check, keeping the deer population from being over bred and diseased, supplemental feeding of the right vitamins and minerals throughout the year, etc. I've picked up countless deer antlers in the woods and used them for all kinds of projects. The vile people who spot-light or run these animals on ATV for antlers or whatever make me ill. I'm an owner of a ATV and I ride it on my property ONLY. Anything else is disrespectful of other's and it affects those people who are responsible. Is there a solution to some who will break the law for material gain? It's the human element I suppose. One I abhor.

POPSShould We Trust The Experts? "None of this suggests the public should abandon a healthy skepticism toward even well-credentialed authorities. Pharmaceutical companies, with colossal missteps like the dangerous medication Vioxx, have earned suspicions about their motivations. Vaccinations foregone put not only those individual children at risk but clear the path for infectious disease to spread more easily. That's not a great outcome, whether we're collectively battling the measles or this season's H1N1 flu. "You can't minimize your individual risk," Wallace writes, "unless your herd, your friends and neighbors, also buy in." Our children most certainly deserve safe vaccines; that's a given. I don't blame people for not trusting special interest groups. I just thought this article brought out some interesting points regarding social media.

POPSOlbermanic Stuck In The Jaws of Coulter The Bush campaign commercial about Dukakis' furlough program never showed a picture of Horton. In fact, the actors playing "criminals" passing through a revolving door in the ad were all white. -- Voters considered it relevant that a candidate for president was so beholden to the ACLU that he backed an idiotic furlough program that released first-degree murderers. And yet in Keith Olbermann's discussion of Bush's allegedly vile, racist use of Willie Horton, he used a phony version of the ad, doctored to include a photo of Horton. in fairness to Keith, he's never been a "content guy." He was a communications major. (The agriculture school Keith attended offered a degree in this field.) He lifts the material for his show from liberal blogs, overwrites it, and throws in his trademark smirking and snorts. But that's all he does because, again, he was a communications major.

POPS Miller Time Sure, the last Beer Summit was an empty political gesture, something Obama was forced into after he stepped in it.* This one could actually be meaningful, if everyone behaves, sincerely tries to become a better person … which is asking a lot, I know. Likelihood of it happening? Zip. But maybe the White House Press Corps, which initiated the last Beer Summit, could try to prompt this one. By asking the president about it, like they did last time. Checking Google news, not seeing that has happened. * Boston Herald, take a bow. Fired the twin rockets of Sgt. Crowley’s distinctly unracist past and his position as a police academy racial profiling instructor that blew up that race thing in Gates’ and Obama’s faces. I remember watching Gates on CNN that afternoon, and the president at his press conference that night, thinking, “Have a good time, guys. Rockets impact in the a.m.” If Skip had just returned our calls …

POPSFood for Thought: Corruption Crusading Truth seeking: Yes the ACORN employees willing to cover child prostitution and income tax fraud is vile. But the Political Right loves to go after poor people and the organizations that help them. The Right is silent about the big $$$$$ corruption, scandals and warmongering within their ranks. That is the scandal: complicit silence about the corruption that truly affects the economic well being of the country.

POPSObama Media Blitz While the Republicans whine, the President moves forward. Obama sure has an incredible "work ethnic." - now setting a record for TV talk shows in one day in his efforts to promote health care reform. The hard-working White House is now also starting to use the First Lady, Michelle Obama, to also promote the need for health care reform. The "whining," includes describing the President as a "salesmen," - rather than an advocate for what he believes. More Republican whining is that he's becoming "overexposed," although they complained he was "underexposed," a few months ago -- all as if they knew what they were talking about or as if there was an objective measurement of over or under exposure...one thing 4sure, they always want their vile comments to be included in the media.

POPSItaly PM: Exit Afghanistan Soon.
Statements by Berlusconi and other's in his administration appear contradictory. But on Italian TV he said: "We are all convinced it's best for everybody to get out soon." While it makes a lot of sense to want to capture and/or kill Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda leadership, George Bush twisted that into War in Iraq and this War in Afghanistan...and it seems the guys we're looking for aren't in either of those places. So Western Pakistan is also being ripped up. Of course the war in Iraq we know was built on deliberately fabricated lies....the beating of war drums to start a War in Iran is built on propaganda and lies (Iran has no WMD's)...and much of this appears to be excuses for old-fashioned imperialism. Old-fashioned imperialism sucks, imo. And recent months have revealed the dark hearts and vile hatred of USA Republican right_wing nut jobsm their motives are not good will or good faith but full of smear and insults. They should move to Afghanistan if they like i

POPSPres. Obama's Speech = Huge Progress
Once again our new President Obama stepped up to the plate and blasted another home run. His speech last night to a rare joint session of Congress (i.e. all our politicians), was firm, assertive, inspiring and pointed to real and positive changes, i.e. 1) no disqualifications for pre-existing conditions and 2) Not dropping people's health insurance when they get sick! Gads! -- Not needing is much I had no idea the health insurance industry was so cruel and so criminal...criminal, imo, that someone has insurance then when they get cancer their policy is NOT RENEWED! Wow...that's evil. (If you've been reading any of the 80 posts by merri today, or only listening to USA corrosive and toxic news, you may have missed the boat on where this is going: It's going to certain victory on the two (2) points mentioned above. It surreal the vile Republican spin that trys to drag Obama down, call things failed, and the dude hasn't even gotten up to bat yet! He hit this one out of t

POPSAxiom 2: Leftists Lie First, let me say I oppose the death penalty and would like to see it ended. However, it is the law, so a governor or judge has no authority to ignore or abrogate the law. We see in this clip how a vile leftist full of hate will declare superiority, omniscient judgment , and engage in the vile hatred of the decent and innocent in order to make a point. "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." (1John 3:15, NKJV). Lies, bigotry, social control, and propaganda are founded in hate.

POPSBarney Frank pwns crazy lady at "town hall" meeting, invokes Godwin's law. CRAZY LADY: "Why do you continue to support a Nazi Policy, as Obama has expressly supported this policy, why are you supporting it?" BARNEY FRANK: "When you ask me that question, I"m gonna revert to my ethnic heritage and answer it with a question: "On what planet do you spend most of your time?" You want me want me to answer the question? Yes, you stand there with a picture of the President defaced to look like Hitler, and compare the effort to increase healthcare to the Nazis, my answer to you is, as I said before, it is a tribute to the 1st Amendment that this sort of vile, contemptible nonsense is free to be propagated. Ma'am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to have a conversation with a dining room table, and I have no interest in doing it. Reductio ad Hitlerum from LYNDON LAROUCHE .

POPSGrassley Feeds Fire of 'Death Panel' Claims The provision to which Sen. Grassley refers, written by a Republican Congressman, allows insurance payment for those who desire a doctor's input in writing a living will. The government is not involved in any way, the service is entirely optional, and Senator Grassley surely knows it. Shame on him for such a vile misrepresentation - trying to scare Americans into thinking someone has proposed a "government program that determines if you're going to pull the plug on grandma." I am appalled. Though I have often disagreed with him, I thought him more honorable than this.
