Children deficient in sunshine vitamin
gemfemfox
by gemfemfox  8-7-2009    9
And they are fat too. Could their be any correlation with the fact kids no longer play outside? Even in smalltown USA? Crazy. Do your kids bodies and minds a favor, kick their a*ses outside everyday. It was good enough for my parents, and it's good enough for my kids too. There is also strong evidence that cancer patients are more likely, than not, grossly deficient in Vit D. Maybe instead of spending thousands on health care and gym memberships, we should just go outside in the sunshine, sans sunscreen and take a walk.

Eight Toys That Should Never, Under Any Circumstances, Be Turned Into Videogames
monica457
by monica457  8-6-2009
In the old days, big blockbuster movies would be turned into cheap collectible glasses that would come with your meal at McDonald's. These glasses were fun to drink milk out of through Krazy Straws, but they eventually wound up being shattered in the dishwasher.

Ript: Man-girdle t-shirt for the soft-&-jiggly crowd
Spiritualmonkey
by Spiritualmonkey  7-3-2009
You're a soft, sedentary, non-active guy. You drive a desk, ride home in a personal automobile, and play videogames depicting strong active men running around with guns & knives. You've got a sugar-cola in your glass, fried crap on your plate, and 873 hours of entertainment waiting on your TiVo in front of your big-screen TV. You've also got a spare tire that came off a tractor trailer and a back that spasms in pain if you try to lift anything heavier than a jumbo box of cookies. What you need is a man-girdle t-shirt.

Police brutality & Videogames: A.P.B.
Spiritualmonkey
by Spiritualmonkey  6-10-2009
A.P.B. stands for "All Points Bulletin". I hear there's a new hack available that if you hit the right combination of buttons and joystick moves, the choking moves to waterboarding during the confess-o-meter segment.. The suspect then confesses to all the other 9 A.P.B's crimes, including ones committed while they were in custody. *HANDSMACK* Bad monkey! ;-)

Tetris 25th birthday
balthazarus
by balthazarus  6-3-2009    1
"I always thought that every game has a certain shelf life. In the early PC business it would take somebody else a year to copy your game, so I thought we had a year or two before somebody came up with a better Tetris," Rogers added. "You know what? They tried. But in 25 years, nobody has." :)

Wii All Wanna Scream
Elizabeth Corcoran
by Elizabeth Corcoran  12-31-2008
This is a riot -- clearly this child has been feeling socially deprived by his lack of Wii. But just think: if Mom & Dad could charge just half a penny to everyone who watches their video, the kid could of had his Wii (and then some) for free......

Why We Need More Torture in Videogames
tabsey
by tabsey  12-15-2008    2
The argument wants long term effects of torture to be clearly laid out (in the rules, I suppose). Also says gamers want real life and consequences in their games. (I suppose if you can't face responsibility in real life, you can learn about it in the virtual world.) The amount of morals allowed would be regulated by sales.
