POPSMoon-walker claims alien contact cover-up "I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said. "It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it. "I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit."

POPSThis is my Kind of Guy--Inyerface, in the Army and Green The banner remained hanging for seven hours, which speaks volumes about the sentiment among enlisted personal on the base. The fact this incident wasn’t reported also tells something about the attitude of the press. The accomplishment of which Bartelli feels most proud from his service was when he was assigned to design an infrastructure that would bring low cost power, solar and wind, to remote Afghan villages. “I spent a considerable amount of time writing and talking with vendors from Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, coming up with a plan that was affordable and as locally based as possible. By giving them solar and wind, fully sustainable, we could bring electricity to the villages.” While the chain of command eventually rejected it, there was little doubt Bartelli’s commanding officer chose him for this project because of his outspokenness on the environment.

POPSOusting Jack Murtha If all that didn't make this enough of an inspiring story: In February, a Pennsylvania judge ruled that Russell had failed to collect enough signatures to make the primary ballot. But he refused to give up on his goal of defeating Murtha. The GOP neophyte persevered on a shoestring budget and won more than 4,000 write-in votes in the spring to earn a spot on the general-election ballot. Russell's campaign manager, veteran GOP activist Peg Luksik, says most second-quarter donations were less than $50. Russell's clear on where he stands. "I am a conservative," he says in his defining campaign statement. "I believe in the sovereignty and security of this one nation, under God. I believe the primary role of government is to provide for the common defense and a legal framework to protect families and individual liberty."

POPSJohn McCain is truly an angry and frustated egomaniac This pretender needs to chill out on one of his wife’s luxurious estates and tend the barbecue. It is very evident that he would turn over our government to the corporate powers who have been running it for the last eight years. Not this time. — Posted by Luke Wright

POPSThree Servicemen sculpture in Apalachicola honors Vietnam Vets "And beyond that, he wanted the sculpture to be a heartfelt and simple thank you from the citizens of this nation to the service and sacrifice of the veterans and their families." She quoted from her husband's last public speech in May 1999, a few months before his death. "By the expressions on the faces of the intensity of the strain and the anguish that was part of the Vietnam veterans experience on the battlefield and at homecoming, and by their endurance and youthful dedication to duty, they reveal themselves as true heroes," she said. She told of how the sculptor had learned from his talks with Vietnam vets that "all treasured their deep bonds of loyalty, comradeship and interdependence," or as one veteran put it, "At first we thought we were fighting for our country but soon we came to realize we were fighting for each other."

POPSMcCain has another bad week. The sad thing is he'll still probably get elected, because the voters only listen to the fluff and razzle-dazzle and ignore the substance.

POPSVoteVets Responds to Iraqi Calls for Timetable or Withdrawal Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets.org said: "It is wholly inappropriate for Vets for Freedom to be running an advertisement that advocates staying in Iraq indefinitely, given Prime Minister Maliki's request this week that the U.S. set a firm timetable to redeploy our troops. Our nation must stand firm and in lockstep to support the sovereign democratic government of Iraq, and unfortunately an ad like this only tells the Iraqis that our nation is divided on whether to support Iraq's government. "We agree with John McCain of 2004, who said that if the Iraqis asked us to leave or set a timetable to leave, we would do so. It's unfortunate, and indeed dangerous, that Senator McCain has flip-flopped on that position, and disappointing that Vets for Freedom would support that flip-flop from a sensible policy with an ad like this.

POPSNew Program Aids Homeless Vets, But Not Nearly Enough The shelter that housed the two homeless Vets, called "Soldier On", was mentioned in an article from the Boston Herald today. Veterans in the Boston area and across the nation are getting some much needed assistance in securing their own rental homes, thanks to a new federal program. Last week, housing authorities from Boston to Northampton began issuing 245 rental assistance vouchers to chronically homeless veterans. In the Boston area, 1,950 former service members are considered homeless. "With the new number of homeless vets that we are creating because of Iraq and Afghanistan, this is focusing on their needs," said U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Somerville), who will make a formal announcement Tuesday

POPSObama: "I need to earn troops' trust" Before they can trust, they have to respect. Clinton never got the respect of the troops other than the lickspittle Gen. Wesley Clark. Similarly, this empty suit, al Qaeda sleeper cell Hussein Obama, will never gain that respect. He represents the Left who continually stabbed them in the back during the long war.

POPSIraq Vet Made Famous By Photo, Dies. The war was never over for Joseph Patrick Dwyer. He may have physically come home but forever mentally he would remain in the hell hole that Bush and his band of Neocons had created. With the wars suicide rates (Post-War Suicides May Exceed Combat Deaths) this war hasn't ended for countless troops who are back home. For many years to come, even if the next President can bring em all home (I'm not talking about McCain-McSame) many will suffer and die on their own turf. In that respect the Iraq war will never end, not for many years to come when there will be no one left on Earth who will remember this criminal war. And that is as sad as the war itself. How many more tears will be shed? thinkingblue.blogspot.com http://www.thethinkingblue.com/iraqvetdies.html

POPSVeterans Hit The Battlegrounds We need to finish the job. . . . No matter who is president." Hegseth says his group is not operating on behalf of McCain and notes that federal law prohibits the organization from coordinating the ad with his campaign. The states were chosen, he said, not because they are crucial swing states for McCain, but rather because the heightened interest in those states will give it a larger audience. "We're going to tap into that heightened awareness," he said, noting that his organization has supported several Democratic candidates in the past year or so. "It's not an attack on anybody. We're not taking on any presidential candidates." He said McCain has been the "strongest advocate" for the veterans of the two wars. "We would hope that success in Iraq could benefit everybody," he said.

POPSElectricity company without grounds. As tragic as this incident is, the greater tragedy comes when people do not read the article correctly. I publish this reply from a Daily Mail reader as example. Surely EON have a case to answer in causing this tragic death. I would be taking them to the highest court in the land for millions! A disgrace beyond comprehension. - Guy, Exeter, 04/7/2008 17:26 What part of suicide bid does the reader not understand

POPSMcCain Campaign to Resemble Bush's More info on the news that McCain's going full-bore Bush III . Writes WaPo's Chris Cillizza : Watch for a series of other moves -- including the hiring of a political director and field director -- to take place in short order. Schmidt realizes that time is running down on McCain and a new direction needs to be set immediately or the campaign runs the risk of falling hopelessly behind. In other words, Team McCain is in trouble.
