POPSBirds of the Feather
ACORN executives have also changed their organization’s name, which was tarnished by investigations in at least 14 states of allegations of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential campaign... ACORN’s radical goals to transform the U.S. into a Marxist utopia have not changed in the four decades since Alinsky wrote: “The means-and-ends moralists, constantly obsessed with the ethics of the means used by the Have-Nots against the Haves, should search themselves as to their real political position. In fact, they are passive — but real — allies of the Haves. The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means.” .... On cue enter ACORN and Barack Obama. After staged demonstrations across the county and several changes of tactics, SEIU hires ACORN as a “consultant” to protest the Carlyle Group. ACORN readily accepts the money, but has one problem — how to turn the people out, to make them care about the issue. Using the same tried and true manipulation tactics that S

POPSDr.Eugene Narrett Just as promised by President “Obama,” there will be “compulsory social service” called “voluntary” in an Orwellianism Machiavelli would envy in “the Universal State” because “no private and local organizations,” initiatives or relationships can be left ‘outside the circle’ of observation, experimentation and intervention. “Committees of psychologists will argue with committees of moralists and committees of theologians until the citizen’s every last right will be licensed by half a score of governmental offices open daily from 9-5” except now we know they will be open “24/7” and be serviced solely by chains of pre-recorded messages, the voices often digital; subordination of the human for whom the utopia ostensibly is arranged is its point: “to serve man” as the “Twilight Zone” episode suggested wryly.

POPSWhole Foods: Health Care Reform Casualty? I've learned from the article comments that some people have known for a long time that John Mackey is anti-union. This comment is about those informed liberals. These informed, educated and/or moneyed liberals were content to purchase Chevre and Vouvray stocked by non-union labor. No righteous indignation stirred as their purchases were tallied by a non-union cashier. They glowed with self-satisfaction as they handed their designer grocery bag to a part-time-no-benefits grocery bagger. Halo firmly in place, they floated to the automatic doors assured of their superior position over Safeway shoppers who use plastic bags and eat processed foods. But now comes John Mackey's opinion which shattered their gourmet utopia and laid open their hypocrisy. Oh, they're furious now.

POPSRiots Breaking Out Nightly in Hometown of Obama, Axelrod, Jarrett and Emanuel
NBC calls them "near riots", but videos plainly demonstrate that if you were caught driving through this mess, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between a riot and a "near-riot". Increased police patrols are promised in the area around Leland and Sheridan in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood after "near riot-like" activity in the streets the past few nights. Video from the area appears to show about a dozen people running back and forth in the street, breaking bottles and yelling. One NBCChicago.com visitor wrote of "near riot-like gang fighting," and said that shots were fired Thursday night at about 10:30. On the Web site UptownUpdate.com, commenters express fear and anger over the activity. "This is by no means an isolated incident," reads a comment by Michael. "This same exact scene played out multiple times this Spring as well." "We have had 3 nights in a row of this and never in my 10 years of living here have I seen it so bad," wrote another resident.

POPSWhy Obama's Miscalculated Deceptions Will Backfire by Kevin McCullough
Since the beginning of the August recess the actual "rulers" in this nation have been given their chance to speak. In high school gyms, in church basements, and in community college auditoriums the first real chance for accountability has been measured against the most tone-deaf administration of my lifetime. The report card for the administration in these town halls is reflecting the concurrent plummet in Barack Obama's approval rating on his signature issue--the universal federalized take-over of the health care given to patients in America. Now only 36% of Americans trust the President on the issue, 53% do not. Every one on the President's team was taken by surprise at the response, primarily because of the biggest mistake an elected official can make. They believed their own press. The administration fell into believing what has been written, and honestly thinks their messianic fulfillment of bringing humanist utopia to the planet is a mandate.

POPSThe End Game of the Left Concessions to the fantastic demands of statists lead to more dissatisfaction and anger, and increasingly fantastic demands. This is similar to the strategy of the radical Islamists living in Western countries. In fact, you can phenomenologically observe many attitude similarities between the statist and Islamist. Intolerance of divergent opinions, hatred toward "non-believers", the obsession to dominate and control every aspect of others' lives, and a dogmatic attitude guided by emotion rather than logic, are some examples. Of course, Islamists are just statists with a state religion. To the Islamist, the end game for the Infidel is conversion or death. The statist philosophy, whether Islamic or otherwise, appears to condone and even embrace the concept of eliminating the members of the opposition by murdering them. While the left projects hatred, racism, and evil on the conservative end of the spectrum, it is they who actually exhibit these attributes.

POPSThe Question of Freedom at the Open Video Conference "Benkler argued that Open Video was indicative of an “open democracy for everyone, everywhere, all the time.” Open Video Culture, he said, would usher in the possibility for “anyone to express oneself, be creative and innovative.” Benkler also claimed that because “millions of people are now looking at problems” we will thus find millions of, “distributed solutions.” In this “free” culture, he continued, “human creativity would move to the core.” Aside from the seemingly naïve conflation of terms, exactly which society, which “everyone,” and which economic system did Benkler have in mind?" A very important read

POPS 2016 If referred to a specialist, your wait may be six months or longer. You can elect to fly abroad for treatment if you can't wait, but since health care is free in the U.S. (and private doctors are banned), most elect to wait. Retirees have a very high quality of life. However, due to rules prescribed by the Federal Health Board, if you are over 72 years of age, you may not receive treatment for Cancer, Heart Disease and other maladies because those services are reserved for younger, healthier patients. It's true that we seem poorer, less employed, less happy, less healthy, less educated, and -- I'll say it -- less free. But that's what we voted for when we voted for change. We were voting for an ideal, a Utopia, a vision of equality. And now that we're entering Barack Obama's fourth term in office, many would say we've achieved it.

POPSThe Wellsian Idea "He followed up with numerous other works promoting his ideas including a book published in 1940 entitled The New World Order where he states that global socialism is inevitable and that there would be a tumultuous transition period as it approached; quote: “… when the struggle seems to be drifting definitely towards a world social democracy, there may still be very great delays and disappointments before it becomes an efficient and beneficent world system. Countless people … will hate the new world order … and will die protesting against it. When we attempt to evaluate its promise, we have to bear in mind the distress of a generation or so of malcontents, many of them quite gallant and graceful-looking people.” " H. G. Wells " “The New World Order” published (1940)

POPSThe Coming Superbrain Some more excerpts: not all humans of the industry are optimistic, "The computer designer and venture capitalist William Joy, for example, wrote a pessimistic essay in Wired in 2000 that argued that humans are more likely to destroy themselves with their technology than create a utopia assisted by superintelligent machines." And some worst fear is the Moses Syndrome being just one generation before: "Indeed, despite this high-technology heartland’s deeply held consensus about exponential progress, the worst fate of all for the Valley’s digerati would be to be the generation before the generation that lives to see the singularity; Kurzweil will probably die, along with the rest of us not too long before the ‘great dawn,’ ” said Gary Bradski, a Silicon Valley roboticist. “Life’s not fair.”

POPSRorschach and Justice why do bad things happen to good people? The Hellenistic answer is: because there is no benevolent deity in charge, or existent as designer of the universe. We have to digress to the Greek theory of the origin of the universe to understand the latter part of that argument. The Hebraic answer is: what about God's justice? The modern answer is: why me?

POPS "Off The Cliff"? ~ 45 Years of Democrat Disaster So after letting the compassionate idiots play with the piggy bank for 45 years, we're broke. And for 45 years, the watchdog press stood on the sidelines and vilified anyone that stood against them. Are you tired yet? Obama Comedy Hour Obama turned to a new source of hope this week. He's begun to suggest that the American people will be the key to ending the current crisis. This is a new tack for the S.S. Obama. I thought government was his solution to every problem. Government stealing from the producers to give to the parasites. As the confidence of wealth disappears, He's running out of people to steal from. He needs the ambitious and industrious to go out and create some wealth for him to steal. Just maybe, he's getting an expensive education from all of those tax-dodging friends of his. Obviously, they understand the effect of taxes on the effort to create wealth. http://ironcross11.blogspot.com/2009/03/obama-comedy-hour.html
