POPSIran Has A New Leader--Maybe Iran has a very young voting population and the majority seems to want a change in government. Two Iranian women, believed to be in their 20s expressed one idea I thought important, "We don't want to be Isolated Anymore!". Right! The world will continue to evolve and leave closed door societies behind and the young people in Iran realize what is happening with or without them. The World will have to wait and see who wins in Iran.

POPSBBC: "Iran's proud but discreet Jews". The Truth, but not as you know it. Mahmoud Ahmedinejad office recently donated money for Tehran's Jewish hospital. It is one of only four Jewish charity hospitals worldwide and is funded with money from the Jewish diaspora - something remarkable in Iran where even local aid organisations have difficulty receiving funds from abroad for fear of being accused of being foreign agents. Most of the patients and staff are Muslim these days, but director Ciamak Morsathegh is Jewish. "Anti-Semitism is not an eastern phenomenon, it's not an Islamic or Iranian phenomenon - anti-Semitism is a European phenomenon," he says, arguing that Jews in Iran even in their worst days never suffered as much as they did in Europe. ... POPSIran Accuses U.S. of Faking Persian Gulf Video Seems a littel stupid on both sides. i mean, If I were Iran, i would not send speed boats out to pester a warship in a battle group. that;s just fucking stupid. At teh same time, I can't imagine the US being soo desperate for conflict that they'd resort to such sillyness as faking a video like this. If anything, I would guess it was a 3rd party in speed boats.. possibly Iranian, but not of the military/navy/etc. That's like blaming Afghanistan for Osama Bin laden. He wasn't a soldier. So its not exactly Afghanistan's fault. Heck I could be wrong about it being a 3rd party... The president of Iran isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. PS: What really would Iran get out of a conflict with the US? nothing. they have too much to lose.

POPSIran Receives Nuclear Fuel in Blow to US It appears that the entire world is determined to help Iran with it's nuclear program. The small voices of resistance are being ignored, but at some point Iran will have the upper hand and demand that the world submit to it's domination.

POPSBush and Sarkozy find common ground against Iran Ahhhhh...this feels much better. Begone, Chriac!! And thank you, Mr. Sharkozy, for your eloquent expressions of appreciation for those Americans who gave their lives for the freedom of France. My husband's uncle is one who never returned. It seems he might know a lot about terrorism and oppression.

POPSJust East of Eden: Iran, images and reflections Continuation: Washington had total confidence in the Shah’s American-armed military forces that had made Iran the gendarme of the region. The Iranian Revolution was a severe blow to US power in the Middle East from which the world power has never recovered. The miscalculations, misjudgments and blindness to reality concerning Iran of 29 years ago have led the USA down erroneous paths ever since. In 1980 American-armed Iraq conveniently attacked Iran in chaos, while Washington turned up the heat and upped its own confusion by secretly selling more arms to Iran in order to pay for the dirty war against the new leftwing Sandinista government in Nicaragua. The Iran-Contras scandal. America arms both sides. Until Iraq launched its US-provided chemical warfare, killing thousands of Iranians.

POPS Iraqi Shiite Leaders Seeks US-Iran Talks "We will do our best not to allow a permanent (foreign) military base on our land," al-Hakim told hundreds of supporters gathered outside the party's headquarters in Baghdad's Jadriyah district. In the sermon, al-Hakim also urged the region's Arab countries to support the political process in Iraq by opening diplomatic missions here and he appealed on "other nearby Islamic countries" -- a reference to Iran -- to support Iraq and its people.

POPSIran President Ahmadinejad rips US Anyone else got a bad feeling about this? With over 200,000 troops in the middle east and our country divided in thoughts about the current war (but not divided in support of our troops - you can be one an not the other); I'd thought we pretty much had our hands full. Lots of people had predictions that the time has come that Iran would step to the forefront, let's hope the dire suggestions of what's to follow will not also be true.

POPSIran Guards join US terror list This is a cleverly worded article. Any step that allows another nation to target its finances is an act of war. The fact that this is in main stream media shows that the war has begun. Except this is not your t.v type war, its a war of words on you and yours cos ultimately its us who will pay the price of war.

POPSDeadline for Iran's Compliance has Arrived with big concerns at US tough talk My prayers are that cool heads prevail. Bush and his team can't afford to make an even more serious error in judgement in approaching and dealing with concerns they have with Iranian motivations. Iran too is walking a fine line. all of it is at the expense of the general public - the citizens of this world - all of us... It boils down to our taking the responsibility of making our voices heard - there must be alternatives to military actions... Seems to me they need Nelson Mandella on the job to negotiate a realistic solution that serves the worldwide population and doesn't involve violence, death or destruction!
