POPSDEJA VU Once again America screws it up. Before we all know it there will be another civil war in Iraq. Both sides are American allies armed and trained by US forces. It is almost like a bad Hollywood comedy. The US forces occupy a country and then don't know what to do, killing and destruction they do know, peace they have no idea.

POPSGood thing that Obama will be new commander in chief Potential threat to your 2nd and 3rd amendment rights - remember what those are? Can you say Ohio National Guard, Illinois National Guard? Are we now supposed to give over our rights to a well armed militia and to not having troops quartered in our homes to Federalized troops!?

POPSDon't believe the surge hype "As the most astute journalists have observed, there are few sources, if any, for reliable data about Iraqi civilian deaths, whether at the hands of sectarian killers or ordinary criminals (or the police/militia forces that the United States has armed and trained). It requires truly extraordinary gullibility on the part of mainstream reporters to accept any such statistics from the Pentagon, whose leaders have misled us so badly about Iraq from the beginning. Where civilian casualties are concerned, it is worth recalling that the Pentagon and the Bush administration initially did not bother to count them -- or at least refused to release whatever counts they had compiled. Estimating the number of civilian dead and wounded was left to nongovernmental sources such as Iraq Body Count and the Lancet, the renowned British medical journal."

POPSAn unbiased primer on Somalia events-- FULL STORY AT SITE-- There is a lot of incomplete,one-sided, or downright misleading information out there. After seeing an interview with a certain journalist this morning, I saw that the general knowledge of events in the horn of Africa was one more case of an appearance that mainstream media was trumpeting what many would perceive as a pro-American propaganda --with admittedly limited information-- taking up most of the oxygen, thereby leaving the few available spaces for alternate "views" to come squeaking through. Such "hidden truth" sources serve to inspire an illusion that theirs, the lesser heard facts --seemingly suppressed--,emulsified in a cleverly passive-aggressive and anti-American analysis, were the true facts. And the more correct analysis. Take network news, the N.Y.Times,the wires(A.P. , Reuters , U.P.I. , etc.) the radio , talk shows , especially the BLOGS , and the "alternative" sources ------with a GRAIN OF SAL
