POPSScottish Earthquake Stuns Labour In the history of UK politics this a major event. The result brings the reality of the disintegration of the United Kingdom. At the same time it marks a stunning message to the UK quasi Labour government's abysmal record on addressing poverty and the forgotten constituencies of those mired in the excrement of Gordon Brown's economic policies.

POPSGreen Jobs Up, Coal Jobs Down So much for the argument that fighting climate change will hurt the economy. That argument's looking more and more like what it actually is -- the argument of the buggywhip industry against those newfangled horseless carriages.

POPSWhy Canada is the best haven from climate change As might be expected, developed nations score best. Canada is top, followed by Ireland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The United Kingdom is in 12th position, just behind the US. The surprise in the top 20 is Uruguay, which is listed ninth, and the only well-placed nation not to be in the club of countries which are rich, or Western (and usually both).

POPSExcellent article that got Steyn sued for thought ("hate") crime. He got off this time, but as the percentage of Muslims and other non-Westerners rises in Canada and other Western nations it will become harder and harder to get away with publishing the truth about Islam, or the negative consequences of the Third World immigration/invasion of the West including the resulting rapidly progressing nonviolent genocide of Western Man including its Jewish sub component.

POPSInternational Summer Tour Ahead for Obama From a campaigning standpoint, it's a really good idea to include European stops. He's crazy popular there and the huge crowds won't fail to remind many of Clinton's last tour of the continent -- i.e., he'll look pretty damned presidential.

POPSEngland vs.Britain vs. UK I'm asking for help here from my friendly clippers. Is England considered a country? Is the United Kingdom considered a country? Is Northern Ireland considered a country or a province? This Wikipedia entry is confusing. The UK includes Northern Ireland, whereas Great Britain (or Britain) does not. Right? Thanks for helping me understand this better.

POPSFORTRESS EUROPE- no more Iraqi Refugees Stockholm, where 18,600 applications for asylum were submitted in 2007 alone, is gradually closing its doors now that Sweden's highest court has ruled that there is no longer an armed conflict in Iraq. Asylum-seekers must now provide detailed proof of persecution, a practically impossible task for many Iraqis. Despite the millions in assistance it receives from Brussels, Athens feels overburdened by the system. After personally inspecting the country's facilities for refugees, European Parliament MEP Kreissl-Dörfler alleged that the Greeks shove thousands of asylum-seekers "into inhumane deportation camps that one can only enter in rubber boots."
