POPSThere is Iraq, Darfur, and Afghanistan and Then There is The Congo! The genocide of Rwanda-Burundi ended there and moved next door into the Congo where there has been ongoing wars and rebellion over its riches since the 1960's - yes, the 1960s. As per usual, it is about money and the power that lets the money flow into the hands of North American and European companies. The latest real driver of child soldiers, rape as war policy, thousands being killed weekly? Uranium and chromium are still important but the rare earths and minerals that have been powering cell phone were the latest and greatest. So who has been paying for the deaths and rapes in the Congo? You and me, texting, web surfing and twittering on our phones keeps the wars going!

POPSTweet Ideas 2 Help LA/California - Go4It! Gotta hand it to Governor Terminator - twittering ideas to help get California out of debt. Most democratic idea, I've heard of in a long time - or at least until President Obama started talking to supporters and then never stopped.

POPSSelf Proclaimed Multitaskers Aren't that Good at Multitasking
Anyone who claims they can multitask is LYING. The human brain cannot multitask, PERIOD. You might think you're multitasking, but you are really switching between tasks in your brain. Every time you switch tasks, your brain has to reload the context of what it was last doing on that task. This is not a big deal for small tasks, as the state information is not that much. But the bigger (conceptually) a task is, the longer it takes to reload all the state information into your brain, and the bigger the efficiency hit against you is. If you find that you can do things no problem by switching tasks, it most likely means that what you're doing is not that mentally demanding, or you are not being effective in what you're doing. A perfect example is if you are surfing the web, watching TV, and twittering at the same time. You might be able to do all 3 of those tasks at once, but no one can argue that any of those things requires more than a sliver of brainpower.

POPSThe article sucks, the comments rock! Please read the article first to understand what's the fuzz about, but I want to draw the attention to the comments, because I believe they make more sense. Too bad I couldn't clip the best parts (because it exceeds the limit).

POPSNikola Tesla still alive after death Nikola Tesla is the man responsible for every form of modern technology we have available to us today. There would be no Twittering, Googling, BlackBerrys, cell phones, satellites in space, airplanes, x-rays, or physics as we know it.

POPSTwittering and Social Networking, Critical Analysis What some think about it. Reality begins at the 2:30 minute mark. Actually, some good uses have been made on Twitter, like from Reps in Congress to update their constituents, which can be helpful, since it is difficult for Americans to follow important legislation that does not make the MSM. There is no doubt that the Facebook Generation will have its consequences, which right now seems to be ego-centric, where the American Idol, so to speak, is SELF.

POPSActual Election Results as Reported to Khamenei & Whistleblower Killed Car Accident
The man who leaked the real election results from the Interior Ministry - the ones showing Ahmadinejad coming third - was killed in a suspicious car accident, according to unconfirmed reports, writes Saeed Kamali Dehghan in Tehran. Mohammad Asgari, who was responsible for the security of the IT network in Iran's interior ministry, was killed yesterday in Tehran. Asgari had reportedly leaked results that showed the elections were rigged by government use of new software to alter the votes from the provinces. Asgari was said to have leaked information that showed Mousavi had won almost 19 million votes, and should therefore be president. We will try to get more details later. NOTE: A very reliable source confirms this story. I understand though, it is difficult to have absolute certainty about anything when so much information is coming from Twittering, Blogging, etc. posted on Sunday, June 21, 2009 7:04:08 AM by Ooh-Ah

POPSBand together now, or be herded together later. Basically, this family started a co-op, which is a private membership organization where families band together and buy food in bulk and many times locally. The power in this country (unions, retail, FDA, USDA and mega-farmers as well as Dow & Monsanto) are pulling out no stops to shut down small farms and anything not chemically created. We should have the right to eat food grown on a farm without a mega-corporation making money. We should have the right to band together to cut costs without the mega-grocery stores & WalMart taking their cuts. We used to have these rights and while we are busy blogging, twittering & texting-they are being yanked away by coercion and force.
