Raising taxes to battle a recession - well, you can't say Obama lacks for original ideas. THE OBAMA DOCTRINE: Obama asserts that America has a moral obligation to intervene with force in certain foreign circumstances and cites the Holocaust. His gist - if we could have intervened effectively to prevent the Holocaust we should have. Hmm - many have argued that the rail lines to Auschwitz were within range of US bombers yet Roosevelt did nothing. Both George Bush and George McGovern think Roosevelt erred - $79 BILLION: Obama was wrong about the Iraqi budget surplus at the last debate and he is still wrong.

POPS Bailout Vote Fails In the House Yes, Clinton's surpluses gave way to Bush deficits (due largely, it's worth noting, to the 2001 recession that was in place when Clinton left office). And yes, the Bush administration (and a complacent GOP Congressional majority) presided over a lamentable and inexcusable bloating of the federal government. But the idea that this was a significant contributing factor to the mortgage/credit crisis strains the limits of creative causality. Even so, Pelosi's partisan rant - ill-timed, illogical, and irrelevant as it was - doesn't seem like a particularly good reason for intended Yeas to tank the bill. POPSComcast: "The Patriot Act" Mandates We Need Your SSN? (cont.) As you can see in the transcript I attached, she referred me to their legal department. I actually asked for the phone number five to ten seconds before she closed the chat. But when I viewed the chat transcript it says the chat was closed before I asked. That is a neat trick. Can what she told me actually be true? …I don’t believe requires me to provide my SSN just to get Internet service. I think the Comcast rep somehow thinks that Comcast falls under the "Know Your Customer" clause of the Patriot Act. As far as I understand it, that only applies to financial companies or financial intermediaries, neither of which I believe Comcast qualifies as.

The folks at FreeRepublic have found an interesting... uh, shall we say coincidence... concerning Barack Obama's widely panned September 9 comments made at a rally in Virginia where he seemed to be saying that Governor Palin was a "pig" by referencing the "lipstick" quote from her acceptance speech at the GOP convention. So, now we have a few points to ponder. Will the Obama campaign admit that this whole bit was lifted from Tom Toles? POPSNYPD audio clip: 9/11 "remote control plane", Truck with Airplane Mural Detained This NYPD scanner audio from 9/11 reports a remarkable incident that news has never covered, that they stopped a truck that day that had a mural of a plane diving into New York City , as well as "remote controlled plane" clearly mentioned in the audio. (See audio clip link at bottom above). Also detained earlier were the "dancing Israeli" art students who were high-fiving each other during the tragedy, even later admitted their Mossad connections and that they were sent to "record the incident" (i.e. foreknowledge).
