POPSObama: $2.4 billion electric vehicle grants
So cool. So many positive programs have been put on track by President Obama it's amazing! On domestic and foreign policy, he's second to none. Of course, now we have to hope there won't be a crash landing. Crash landings are possible for everything in life. There certainly is a lot of risk, not with the money spent so much as the Guarantee and Backup Insurance the government has pledged. But...for every economic issue you could probably have a five-way debate, but the fact is people are buying cars again, big bucks is being put into alternative energy cars (and other alternative energy programs), home sales and prices starting to stabilize, banks making profits instead of going out of business....and good people programs also happening and the major achievement of national health care may finally happen. P.S. It's only our warmongering Republicans, neo-cons, racist and right-wing nut jobs and corrosive, toxic media that makes it sound different. The real picture is clear p

POPS"Space Internet" to Link Worlds by 2011? DTN is already used for earthbound projects. Scientists, for instance, are using the system to tag and track wildlife with a data-delivery capacity far more reliable than past satellite-based networks. DTN can also bring broadband Web to remote areas with few communication structures, connecting remote humans such as the Arctic's Sami people via satellite with far shorter time lags. The U.S. military has also embraced the technology to help keep lines of communication open in remote areas—or when other infrastructure is destroyed. So far, DTN doesn't seem to have a catch, experts say.

POPSHeh!!! IT’S TIME TO DRILL By TWENTY POUND SLEDGE Music lyrics and performed by Alfonzo Rachel We can fix it if we drill here right now. They say it’s going to take 10 years well, They said that 10 years ago so, Had we done it then we’d have the oil now, litigation is the time they’ll drag out. Everyday I here this was a war for oil, though we have our own underneath American soil. If that were really true, then why didn’t you prevent the war by stepping aside so we could get our own crude? The only bloody hands would belong to the left. Aptly named sinister, and taxin’ us to death, The ministers of victimization, who keep us in a state of a dependency nation. REPEAT CHORUS A MACHO SAUCE PRODUCTION

POPSThere's Not Enough Oil I keep feeling like people aren't wanting to talk about the elephant in the room. While some industry people are saying we've reached maximum oil production, others are saying there's still more oil to be found to meet increased demand. What they aren't considering is that most of the world today is under-developed. As these developing nations grow, oil usage is going to grow exponentially like nothing we've ever seen before. Instead of figuring out how to make oil cheaper, we need to find new energy sources that can pick up the slack. I unfortunately don't think we'll ever replace oil, but if oil can become just one of many options that maybe makes up less than 10 or 20% of energy consumption, we'd be on the right track.

POPSHarry Reid's Anti-Energy "Consumer-First Energy Act" of 2008 Simply put, the Consumer-First Energy Act is an anti-energy bill that will only add to already-high energy costs. Fewer Restrictions on Domestic Oil Production We need fewer restrictions on domestic oil drilling. America remains the only oil-producing nation that has placed a substantial amount of its energy potential off-limits. This includes a few thousand acres of Alaska's 19.6 million acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). This small portion of ANWR is believed to contain 10 billion barrels of oil—an amount equivalent to 15 years of imports from Saudi Arabia.

POPSEco-Freindly concept Chevy Volt heads into GM's production pipeline Pretty cool, hey, maybe American Manufacturers are starting to get serious.. and cluing in that many people want more fuel economic cars. Too bad the Japanese have had this in mind for well.. ever. The car is very pretty, though it could probably be even more efficient if it weren't so big. But we all know Americans need big cars... What's that they say about cars in relations to penises? (i kid.. sort of...)
