POPSMike Wallace Interviews Archive 1957 - 1960 The Mike Wallace Interview ran from 1957 to 1960, but the Ransom Center collection includes interviews from only 1957 and 1958. In the early 1960s, Mr. Wallace donated to the Ransom Center kinescopes of these programs and related materials, including his prepared questions, research material, and correspondence. Mike Wallace rose to prominence in 1956 with the New York City television interview program, Night-Beat, which soon developed into the nationally televised prime-time program, The Mike Wallace Interview. Well prepared with extensive research, Wallace asked probing questions of guests framed in tight close-ups. The result was a series of compelling and revealing interviews with some of the most interesting and important people of the day.

POPSObama The Trojan Horse The people bought into his "victimhood" and the US may very well become the victim of his anti-American views and the continuing demise of our wealth and power in the world.

POPSA 2008 post-election promise More: No presidential candidate in my lifetime has inspired me as much as has our new President-Elect, Barack Obama. On election night, in the spirit of unity and conciliation, he asked us to “resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics”. He asked us to remember the values we all share, and he promised that he would be the leader of all Americans, not just the ones whose support he already has. In this same spirit, I wish to refrain, at this historical moment, from pointing out that your first major prediction for the post-Obama world — that angry coloreds would riot in the streets — has utterly failed to come true. Now is not the time for blame. Now is the time to put one another at ease, not to put one another on edge.

POPS Saving America From Obama of the US Communist Party, unrepentant former Weather Underground terrorists, and a minister who preaches anti-Americanism. The head of the Black Muslim movement, Louis Farrakhan, recently declared him to be the “messiah.” We have learned too of his association with the Association of Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) initially as a “community organizer”, but ACORN is now revealed to have profited greatly from the Democrat programs that required banks and mortgage firms to make loans to the poor. It has led to the present financial crisis. ACORN is being investigated for massive voter registration abuses. Obama was closely associated with Antoine “Tony” Rezko, a convicted Chicago real estate developer who was a major political contributor. One would think that what we already know about Obama would be sufficient to dismiss him as a serious candidate for the presidency of the United States, but I am just as concerned about what we don’t know.

POPSObama - A Question of Character And whether the country understands it or not, and whether voters think it’s a big deal or not, integrity and associations matter. If Barack Obama is elected President, sooner or later people will realize this applies to him as well. It’s only right to ask the relevant questions in advance of this election — and despite the ridicule being dished out by the acolytes and cheerleaders of Senator Obama, it’s not too much to ask Obama to explain his relationship over the years with people who have a disturbing history of violence, hatred for America, and corruption.

POPSObama Friends Call Character into Question A wise friend once said that "we learn from whom we are yoked". I believe that is so true. Whether a spouse, a business partner, a pastor, or friend. There's a reason why we are drawn to them and allow them to influence us....for good or bad. These associations speak volumes to me about the ideals, opinions, world-view, values of Obama...regardless of what he says. Words are easy & cheap. History reveals the inner man.

POPSMcCain's Chilling Dance With the Dark Side
Now, I'm not saying that it's wrong to ask questions about Obama's relationship, such as it was, with Bill Ayers. Or with Tony Rezko or with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Just as it wouldn't be inappropriate to raise questions about McCain's association with G. Gordon Liddy, the convicted Watergate burglar whose colorful history includes telling listeners to his radio show in 1994 to shoot federal agents in the head. When McCain went on Liddy's radio show in November 2007, he told Liddy, "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family... It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great." The candidates' associations with these people, and their responses to questions about them, give you a view into their judgment. But at a time of great economic uncertainty -- so uncertain that the smartest people in the world are scratching their heads about what to do -- whi

POPSOf Course The Obama-Ayers Connection Is Important Ed goes on to summarize Barone's three major points: * Obama stresses his commonality with the American people. Do most people feel comfortable working closely with unrepentant domestic terrorists who still want to overthrow the capitalist system in America? * Obama presses educational issues as part of his campaign. He spent years working with Ayers on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which pushed efforts to create primary educational organizations that would create political activists for the Left - and which largely failed in any of its intended purposes. * Obama has lied and obfuscated about his relationship with Ayers. Clearly, Ayers was not just “some guy in the neighborhood”, but a political adviser at least on educational issues who provided a key launch for Obama’s political career.

POPSThou doth protest too much ~"Hillary, despite what you've heard, is not the smartest woman in America. And can anyone dispute that one element of Obama's allure is the potential of his becoming the first African-American president? Palin is, without doubt, in part, a token pick. So what? The appeal of a candidate includes his or her policy position, but also background (that's why we are blessed with the folksy charm of Joe Biden), experience, ability, race and gender. "~

POPSKer-Thump Another One Under The Bus The list of "bumper clinging" supporters, including Bernadine Dorhn and Bill Ayers, the two domestic terrorists that helped jump-start Barack Obama's political career. * Marilyn Katz (former SDS radical, Obama campaign PR professional) * Carl Davidson (former SDS radical, Fidel Castro Fan, webmaster of Progressives for Obama) * half-brother Abongo Obama, a militant Muslim * "Uncle Frank" Frank Marshall Davis, role model/mentor and member of the Communist Party USA, poet who authored "Smash-on, victory-eating Red Army" * Bill Ayers, domestic terrorist and long-time friend * Bernadine Dorhn, Ayer's wife, fellow domestic terrorist, and Manson Family admirer.

POPSObama The Humble Savior Only last week, another of his pals bit the dust, convicted by a Chicago jury of 16 counts of this and that. "This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew," said the senator, in what's becoming a standard formulation. Likewise, this wasn't the Jeremiah Wright he knew. And these are guys he's known for 20 years. "I face this challenge with profound humility and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people … . I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we........ It's a good thing he's facing it with "profound humility," isn't it? Because otherwise who knows what he'd be saying. But mark it in your calendars: June 3, 2008 – the long-awaited day, after 232 years, that America began to provide care for the sick.

POPSWhat Obama wishes he could say "Politically, he correctly believes that he would be called out as a hypocrite if he practiced the conventional art of attack politics after preaching against it. And, to view his motives in the best light — a benefit of the doubt extended by his own team — he believes this campaign would also undermine his governing strategy if elected. He has told associates it would be impossible to win support for a progressive agenda unless he assumes the presidency as a uniting figure who can transcend the personality-obsessed brand of combat that has dominated Washington for the past generation. "

POPSThe soccer Black List Sport and features editor of 'The Voice', Rodney Hinds, said: "In many ways everyone on this list is a pioneer and it's important to pay tribute to their achievements." The list features senior administrators such as Millwall's executive deputy chairman Heather Rabbatts; assistant chief executive of the Professional Footballers Association Bobby Barnes; and Jason Rockett of Sheffield United - the only black chief executive in professional football. PFA chairman Chris Powell, who is also player-coach at Charlton, joins Ferdinand as the only other current player on the list. Some unfamiliar names are also listed such as Chris Nathaniel, a young agent who has negotiated a seven-figure book deal for England's John Terry and works closely with Ferdinand, Micah Richards, Obafemi Martins and Ryan Babel. The BBC is represented by Garth Crooks and sport radio editor Hepburn Harrison Graham. The list has been supported by football's anti-racism campaign, Kick It Out.

POPSWhy Should Being Gay Be a Crime? If Michael Savage is upset with the Catholic church, he ought to be downright livid if the United Nations adopts a resolution calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality. And when he finds out the resolution was offered by a black gay Frenchman? Well he'll probably call for the bombing of the U.N. and for the U.S. to finally invade and occupy France. What will be interesting to see is where the Bush administration stands. After all, they flip-flopped on allowing gay human rights activists to have U.N. access. Post-election, where will the Bush administration come down on this? Where would their base want them to come down? Three guesses, and the first two don't count.
