POPSScientists build world's most powerful magnet Built at Los Alamos, will eventually blow itself up. "The entire magnet will be a combination of coil sets weighing nearly 18,000 pounds and powered by jolts from a massive 1,200-megajoules motor generator. Once activated, the new magnet should be about two million times more powerful than the average refrigerator magnet."

POPSWhat if Electricity Was FREE??? The life story and work of Nikola Tesla. He invented AC electricity, Neon Lights, Radio transmission, The Electric motor, Wireless electricity transfer, Remote control, Hydraulics, Lasers, Space weapons, Robotics, and many, many more things. As Tesla claimed to have invented a way to harness free energy from the voltage difference in the ionosphere that causes lightning, he was seen as a threat to the world energy economy and most of his inventions were classified for national security by the US government. A lot of his discoveries in physics have not been released to the public, despite being invented nearly 100 years ago. In 2006 the first company publicly announced it could successfully power items by remote power without wires, (news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6129460. stm) something Tesla had invented nearly a century ago.

POPSTesla Timeline "Today, most school children are taught that Marconi is the Father of Radio. This error is still perpetuated by the Smithsonian Institution even today… However, it looks like the Smithsonian may finally rectify the situation..." ---------- These are very few highlights. Teslas story and the real history are interesting and enlightening.

POPSSinging Tesla Coil This is a solid-state Tesla coil. The primary runs at its resonant frequency in the 41 KHz range, and is modulated from the control unit in order to generate the tones you hear. So just to explain a little further, yes, it is the actual high voltage sparks that are making the noise. Every cycle of the music is a burst of sparks at 41 KHz, triggered by digital circuitry at the end of a "long" piece of fiber optics.

POPShttp://www.teslascience.org/pages/front_el.htm We are presently working in cooperation with the Long Island based group Friends of Science East, to preserve this one remaining monument to Nikola Tesla's engineering legacy Our specific goals are: * placement of the 16 acre site on the National Register of Historic Places * restoration of the building and stabilization of the tower foundation * conversion of the site into a science museum complex to be known as the Tesla Museum and Science Center at Wardenclyffe.
