YouTube Bans Terrorism Videos; Don't You Feel Much Safer?
Kelika
by Kelika  9-14-2008    1
"As we pointed out at the time, trying to ban terrorists from posting videos to YouTube seems incredibly short-sighted. First, it won't work. Those videos will quickly pop back up on other sites that won't take them down. Second, most of those videos are preaching to the choir. It's unlikely that very many people are being recruited to the terrorists' causes by a grainy video on YouTube. Third, letting terrorists post their videos to a mainstream site like YouTube should help authorities figure out who's posting the videos and where they're coming from. Fourth, and most important, one of the key founding principles of this country is the right to free speech, no matter how much one might disagree with that speech. But, part of that principle is that it allows people to respond. So, yes, the videos may be pure propaganda, but there's no reason that people can't respond to the videos and show why they're propaganda and wrong. Confronting your critics is a reasonable stance.  Western intelligence sources in Pakistan believe that al-Qa'eda's prize American recruit and propaganda chief may have been killed in a CIA-directed airstrike. Evan Kohlmann, an investigator with the Nine Eleven Finding Answers (Nefa) foundation which monitors terrorist groups, said: "Al-Qaeda acknowledges that several of its leaders have been taken out. There aren't that many experienced leaders left in the middle ranks and they are being replaced by younger guys with no credentials but lots of enthusiasm." Watch video: 4:16

Lieberman Warns of a 9/11 in 2009 for McCain
blueridge
by blueridge  6-30-2008    3
Islamo propaganda from this Israeli-neoconservative democrat. Is it not more evident just who was behind 9/11 and the absolutely unproven claims that "Islamic extremists"--i.e. bin Laden who denied it, and 19 Muslims, half of which were proven alive afterward--did it? Who benefits from 9/11 and this propaganda more than Israel and the neoconservative agenda for a new middle east? We know who would be behind it if another occurs, the same behind the first one. For Lieberman to "predict" this demonstrates inside knowledge (if it happens) and a clear motive on his part for even desiring it to push the war agenda. Lieberman's argument is also entirely irrational. If Islamic extremists want the U.S. out of the middle east and wars halted, they would do nothing at all. There has been nothing prohibiting repeated terrorism if those blamed for 9/11 were true and Al Qaeda was not in Iraq. Motive, means, and opportunity point to the real perpetrators per criminology 101.

Two words: Posse Comitatus. All this coincidentally in advance of DNC convention. This is the strongest form of creating irrational fear about "terrorism", including hyper-paranoid police and military preparations, which could lead to over-reaction during possible convention protests. Pure propaganda, pure psy-op, to indoctrinate and influence the CONTEXT of the DNC political convention. If nothing to hide, then why the secrecy about which branch of the military was involved? Lieberman Pushing Internet Censorship; Bill in Congress
blueridge
by blueridge  6-3-2008    2
NY Times editorial opposing his attempt to censor the internet. Tell your Senators to oppose this pending legislation , which is a ruse for censorship. Pardon me, but if "Al Qaeda" and "bin Laden" post videos on the internet at radical sites (per neocon propaganda fronts like SITE, and reported by ABC News), why can they not find them? (Those sites are not on YouTube or easily obtained). Answer: Because then there would be no propaganda to support the "war on terrorism" and "homeland security". All of this comes against the backdrop of a troubling Congressional antiterrorism bill that also focuses on the Internet. The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, which passed the House last year by a 404-to-6 vote, would establish a commission to study the terrorist threat and propose legislation. The bill, which the Senate has not acted on, has a finding that the Internet p

WAR IS OVER
sahara
by sahara  4-17-2008
CONTINUED: For American politicians to suppose that without us it would thrive and grow in Iraq is just proof of their ignorance. Our presence in Iraq is the only thing that made al-Qaeda viable. Our occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan are the principal selling points in al-Qaeda propaganda. Whatever someone imagines we gain by staying in Iraq and Afghanistan is far outweighed by what we are losing. We are losing lives in dribs and drabs, and we are losing treasure at an alarming rate. We have severe internal problems that our military presence in the Middle East aggravates. Our military is on the verge of being broken. Some Nobel laureates estimate the war will end up costing us $3 trillion. Well, plain and simple, we can't afford it. If we don't change direction in this country, we're going to end up impoverished and bankrupt, and you know what? Iraq and Afghanistan will still be the messes they are today.

Bin Laden to Address America, "Stay Tuned" Says Neocon Propaganda Front

SITE is a neocon propaganda front. If you or I posted any messages or videos the government would find you in a New York minute. Not so with the (convenient) phantom bin Laden (who has been dead since Dec. 2001 in truth). Really, if SITE has tapped into a genuine Al Qaeda or terrorist message board, then 1) why can't the U.S. spy agencies ($40 billion-plus in expenditures) not trace to its source, and 2) why does the CIA or National Intel director never report this officially, instead of a (private, neocon-linked) extra-governmental agency, and 3) why does it always (without government censorship) make MSM news coverage? THINK! I challenge those who believe this propaganda to answer these three questions.

al-Qaeda Prepares Dual-Track Offensive In Iraq Just In Time For Jan 20, 2009
merrie
by merrie  2-13-2008    1
February 11, 2008, 2:11 PM (GMT+02:00) Just in time for President Bush’s first – and last - Middle East tour, al Qaeda’s new operational arm, Fatah al-Islam, completed its redeployment from Lebanon on two warfronts: Iraq and the Gaza Strip. Al Qaeda has managed to pull together two fronts for twin campaigns orchestrated by a single commander, Fatah al-Islam’s Palestinian chief Shaker al-Abessi, from his new base in Iraq. Fatah al-Islam under Abessi’s command pinned the Lebanese army down at the northern Nahar al-Badr camp for four months in the summer of 2007 before being driven out. With his top command, Abessi was able to access Iraq from Syria in the last month by transiting a purportedly sealed border. According to our sources, the Palestinian-led terrorist force has reached North Iraq and is taking reinforcements from Lebanon and Syria preparatory to joining the main al Qaeda body fighting US and Iraqi forces in other parts of the country.

Aiding Terrorists? AP Iraqi Award-Winning Journalist

Although it's unclear what specific allegations may be presented against Hussein, convictions linked to aiding militants in Iraq could bring the death penalty, said Tomlin. A public affairs officer notified the AP on Sunday that the military intends to submit a written complaint against Hussein that would bring the case into the Iraqi justice system as early as Nov. 29. Under Iraqi codes, an investigative magistrate will decide whether there are grounds to try Hussein, 36, who was seized in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi on April 12, 2006. Dave Tomlin, associate general counsel for the AP, said the defense for Hussein is being forced to work “totally in the dark.”

OVERBLOWN: The U.S. Over-reaction to 9/11
blueridge
by blueridge  10-21-2007    1
You remember about the boy and the Emporer's New Clothes? Well the professor who wrote this book dares to stop the irrational over-reaction and insane wars and put the "terrorist threat" into statistical perspective that no one can refute. Multitudes more people die in traffic accidents in a year and you have (statistically) more chance of being killed by local criminal acts than from "Islamic jihadists that want to kill us every day". This book refutes the fear-mongering and propaganda, and is the rational basis for repealing the anti-constitutional and tyrannical laws that have been coerced through Congress by the mantra that "911 changed everything". No, it only changed what the government told us, which is full of lies. This book also is the basis for refuting most of the agenda proclaimed by the 2008 Presidential candidates (except Ron Paul) who want to continue down the road from freedom to fascism and their global Democratic Jihad for "regime changes".

Putin Defends Iran from U.S. and Israeli War-mongering
blueridge
by blueridge  10-19-2007
Recall the FAKE rumors of an assassination of Putin went public prior to his visit. The only beneficiaries of such rumors would be those who wanted to prevent this very event described in the article, which would be the neoconservative, Cheney-dominated Bush administration, and Israel--who attempted to discourage his visit through FEAR or TERRORIST THREATS. Their propaganda failed and Putin defied it. Recall too that Putin paid a very friendly visit to Bush's ranch in Crawford, TX, and he is considered an ally in the phony "war on terrorism". Putin sees through the lies in the war-mongering against Iran, and also knows the neocon agenda includes further moves toward the Caspian region for oil resources, and even conflict with Russia itself. Like a chess match, this was a very strategic move to block Cheney's lies and propaganda about Iran nuclear program and from expanded war toward the Caspian region.

A front-page article in today's Washington Post featured an interview with Rita Katz, the founder of the SITE Intelligence Group, a small firm that monitors terrorist Web sites and propaganda video releases. Katz claims this leak revealed to al Qaeda how Katz was able to obtain an early copy. "Techniques that took years to develop are now ineffective and worthless," Katz told the Post. Others, however, say that in order to monitor these communication networks effectively, they are constantly adapting and modifying their techniques.

Bush wants to murder more. We have to kill Iranians "over there," Bush says, "before they come over here." There is no possibility that Iranians or any Muslims who have no air force, no navy, no modern military technology are going to "come over here," and no indication that they plan to do so. The Muslims are disunited and have been for centuries. That is what makes them vulnerable to colonial rule. If Muslims were united, the US would already have lost its army in Iraq. Indeed, it would not have been able to put an army in Iraq. Lacking US troops with which to invade Iran, the Bush administration has decided to bomb Iran "back into the stone age." Punishing air and missile attacks have been designed not merely to destroy Iran’s nuclear energy projects, but also to destroy the public infrastructure, the economy, and the ability of the government to function. ... http://www.lewrockwell.com/roberts/roberts222.html
