Political Analyst~OR~Partisan Activists???

Olbermann's dominance brings out the worst in Matthews. Even Brokaw. They are both more balanced, when KO is nowhere in sight. An insightful eye can tell the difference when responding to Keith they are timidly stammering for words far enough in the extreme left bias to satisfy him. And their facial expression shows it - clearly. They are resentful, pressured, and under the thumb of Keith Olbermann. At a later point, with Olbermann gone, they are confident, balanced and natural. Myself, I can ferret out this kind of passive-aggressive, irresponsible phony journalism. There are just too many out there that cannot see that the line between news and amateurish blog has disappeared ~ probably for ever.

Comcast Limiting Internet Use
klippety
by klippety  8-30-2008
Comcast is the first to do the dirty deed. Instead of investments into newer and more internet infrastructure, they will stop and charge xtra for more usage. As technologies evolve more and more, your bandwidth hog today, is the average consumer tomorrow. They will not only limit internet usage, but more importantly, they will stifle newer and better technologies. Games and HDTV will use way more bandwidth than anything today. Comcast-CONCAST- really, is standing in the way of the future of the internet

Putin: Bush Tricked Me Into Invading Georgia To Help McCain Beat Obama
merrie
by merrie  8-29-2008    1
Does the US have close ties to Georgia? Yes. Has the US been instrumental in modernizing and backing Georgia’s military? Yes. But did the United States instruct Georgia to use such blunt force against separatists in the areas Russia now wants to be independent? Absolutely not. That was Georgia’s call as a sovereign nation, and Putin’s attempt to lay the blame with President Bush is simply a feint to cover his own country’s aggression in this matter. A feint that smells suspiciously Soviet. Remember when the Soviets would back rebels and invade countries all over the world and then claim they were just opposing American imperialism? Well we’re back to that again.

Huge Train Blast as Russia Faces New Pressure to Leave Georgia
merrie
by merrie  8-24-2008
But it added that international monitors would not replace Russian troops as a statement from the French presidency asserted. "During the telephone conversation between the Russian and French presidents, there was no discussion about replacing Russian peacekeeping troops by an OSCE mission in the buffer zone," said a Kremlin spokesman. The West sees the presence of OSCE monitors as critical to ensuring the success of the ceasefire. The speedy military victory over Georgia, which is pressing for membership of NATO, stunned Western powers and plunged relations between Russia and the West to their lowest point since the end of the Cold War. The latest focus of international tension was the Black Sea, where NATO naval exercises are taking place. A US destroyer arrived on Sunday in Georgia with what the Pentagon says are humanitarian aid supplies.

Where to find truth?

There is a tension and conflict between the sellside and buyside, even the market is good. Except for relying on open market, can we do anything to correct any mis-information? Sometimes it is way too late to have the market to adjust it. Look at the current financial world! We are suffering from the damages caused by activities which were deemed good.

Free! Why $0.00 Is the Future of Business
akipta
by akipta  8-22-2008
"You know this freaky land of free as the Web. A decade and a half into the great online experiment, the last debates over free versus pay online are ending. In 2007 The New York Times went free; this year, so will much of The Wall Street Journal. (The remaining fee-based parts, new owner Rupert Murdoch announced, will be "really special ... and, sorry to tell you, probably more expensive." This calls to mind one version of Stewart Brand's original aphorism from 1984: "Information wants to be free. Information also wants to be expensive ... That tension will not go away.")"

Saakashvili Orders Full Mobilization Against Rebel Region
merrie
by merrie  8-8-2008    1
At least 15 people, primarily civilians, were killed in heavy shelling and airstrikes of the capital Tskhinvali, news agency Interfax cited South Ossetian officials as saying. Georgia accused three Russian Sukoi SU-24 aircrafts of bombing Georgian villages, and a short time later, sent out five of the same jet to carry out attacks on South Ossetia. Russia denied it had sent out bombers Friday. 'A full-scale military aggression has been launched against Georgia,' Saakashvili said in his speech, calling on Russia to 'immediately stop bombardment of the Georgian towns.' But Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin blamed Georgia with initiating the 'aggressive action' in televised comments from Beijing and said that Russia would be compelled to retaliate. But the United States is a close ally of the pro-Western Saakashvili, and it is its backing of Georgia's bid to join NATO in April that is seen to have escalated tension in the region.
