POPS Castles Built on Sand chip away at the fortress walls of secrecy about temperature data, Terence Corcoran (http://bit.ly/7wwlwo) refers to the second leg of the IPCC thesis - that is after the physical science was supposedly settled. This focused on social and economic solutions to the supposed global warming problem, and required wider scientific expertise to formulate and validate models whose complexities and unknowns rivalled those of trying to predict the weather decades hence. Only four scenarios were developed, called A1, B1, A2, and B2. In the 1998 draft, the A1 scenario is called the Golden Economic Age. It describes a period of “rapid and successful economic development,” brought on by the economic structures that have been successful in the past: free markets, global free trade, innovation. “Free trade enables each region to access knowledge, technology, and capital to best deploy its respective comparative economic and human advantages.”

POPSClipping Comments: On the Suspend Copenhagen Climate Talks Jlyn continued- If you believe in global warming and take steps to control it but are wrong, you have lost nothing. But if you don't believe and are wrong, all is lost. I much prefer to err on the side of caution. After all, the worst that is going to happen is we will wean ourselves from foreign oil.

POPSGlobal Warming Fraud and the Future of Science It is this, and no less, that scientific fraud threatens. This is no trivial matter; it involves one of the basic elements of modern Western life. When scientific figures lie, they lie to all of us. If they foment serious distrust of the scientific endeavor -- as they are doing -- they are creating a schism in the heart of our culture, a wound that in the long run could prove even more deadly than the jihadi terrorists. The apparent success of the climate hustlers has infected all areas of research. Over the past decade, stem-cell studies have proven a hotbed of fraud. Recall Dr. Hwang Woo Suk, the South Korean biologist who claimed to have cloned various higher animals and isolated new stem cell lines to worldwide applause. Suk was discovered to have faked all his research, prompting the South Korean government to ban him from taking part in any further work.

POPSSympathy, Please, for White House Czars Holdren can’t help it, of course; he wants power, our money, and lots of authority to do us down socialist-style to satisfy his ego. What do you say? That he really believes in that nonsense? Now. Come friends. Don’t get him wrong. It is true that he doesn’t really believe in green issues, but only wants what they can give him personally – cars, cash and kudos; but hey, what else should a specious and fallacious expert do? Like other Obama-ites, he is gaining ground on us lesser mortals simply by saying ridiculous things. I’m sure that if we clued-up we could be just as stupid. Remember (TCSDaily interview, 2003) Holdren famously betrayed his lack of scientific credibility by saying that the scientific ‘burden of proof’ changes with time (you know, like global ice-age freezing changes to global warming changes to climate change, and so on, all without proof or explanation. Seems he might be right!).

POPSJapan Plans Solar Station in Space The next step, expected around 2020, would be to launch and test a large flexible photovoltaic structure with 10 megawatt power capacity, to be followed by a 250 megawatt prototype. JAXA says the transmission technology would be safe but concedes it would have to convince the public, which may harbour images of laser beams shooting down from the sky, roasting birds or slicing up aircraft in mid-air.

POPSObama, Maurice Strong, Al Gore Key Players Cashing In On Chicago Climate Exchange
The nondescript Strong, nonetheless is the big cheese in the underworld of climate change and is one of the main architects of the failing Kyoto Protocol. Full credit for the expose on the business partnership of Strong and Gore in the cap-and-trade reduction scheme should go to the investigative acumen of the Executive Intelligence Review (EIR). The tawdry tale of the top two global warming gurus in the business world goes all the way back to Earth Day, April 17, 1995 when the future author of “An Inconvenient Truth” travelled to Fall River, Massachusetts, to deliver a green sermon at the headquarters of Molten Metal Technology Inc. (MMTI). MMTI was a firm that proclaimed to have invented a process for recycling metals from waste. Gore praised the Molten Metal firm as a pioneer in the kind of innovative technology that can save the environment, and make money for investors at the same time. “Gore left a few facts out of his speech that day,” wrote EIR.

POPSYour Babies Are Killing Our Planet!
Monday, October 26, 2009 Moonbattery in the U.K: "The worst thing that you or I can do for the planet is to have children" From the U.K. Guardian: Fewer British babies would mean a fairer planet. The worst thing that you or I can do for the planet is to have children. If they behave as the average person in the rich world does now, they will emit some 11 tonnes of CO every year of their lives. In their turn, they are likely to have more carbon-emitting children who will make an even bigger mess. If Britain is to meet the government's target of an 80% reduction in our emissions by 2050, we need to start reversing our rising rate of population growth immediately. And if that makes sense, why not start cutting population everywhere? Are condoms not the greenest technology of all? Actually, if you ask a true ghoul, it would be abortion, not condoms. In fact, scratch abortion, just cull all humans without discriminating based on anything other than productivity

POPSIt Has The Stench Of Opportunity By reducing the amount of the potent greenhouse gas released into the air, the projects also potentially could turn cow dung into dollars, if a climate bill before Congress becomes law. "Agriculture and agribusiness is what Greeley is all about," Biggi said. "We needed to take that strong traditional economic base and ... merge it with emerging renewable energy and technology." Waste may be the new energy crop in these parts. But elsewhere, communities are looking anew at power sources such as the sun and wind that may exist in their own backyards.

POPSGlobal Warming Legislation Effect on States The preceding is a list of the 50 state-by-state breakouts of the impact the bill would have on jobs and the economy. Lieberman-Warner (S.2191) relies heavily on an unproven technology, capturing carbon and sequestering it. Even with the most generous assumptions " presuming that carbon capture and sequestration is commercially developed in 10 years " the economic costs for the average American are staggering. Under a more realistic scenario, the economic impacts in terms of losses in the job market, losses in household budgets, and higher energy prices will be drastically higher. To make matters worse, there will be inconsequential effects on the environment to show for it, if any. The Senate's leading climate-change bill, while aiming to combat global warming by reducing carbon dioxide in the air, actually poses "extraordinary perils" for Americans and the economy, according to a new study from The Heritage Foundation.

POPSAmerica’s First Zero Carbon Mass Transit Shuttle Compared to diesel or CNG buses, their buses have low maintenance costs, low operation costs, zero tailpipe emissions, and can reach a zero carbon footprint if powered by renewable energy sources. There will be a presentation/demonstration of the technology at American University in D.C. on Wednesday, October 21. They will be showcasing the following: - The 15-foot minibus showcased will be the first electric vehicle in the country powered completely by ultracapacitors. - Two dozen full-size ultracapacitor buses have been in commercial operation in Shanghai, China for the past three years. - The ultracapacitor vehicle demonstration is a combined effort of American University, Sinautec Automobile Technologies, The Stella Group, and Shanghai Aowei Technologies Corp.

POPSObama: "Cap & Trade Will Cause Electricity Rates To Skyrocket"
SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! Obama admits that a Cap and Trade program will cause consumer electricity rates to skyrocket. Cap and Trade is nothing more than government control over private energy production and use via regulation of the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is Not Pollution (Popular Technology) http://www.populartechnology.net/2008... Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is not pollution and Global Warming has nothing to do with pollution. The average person has been misled and is confused about what the current Global Warming debate is about, greenhouse gases. None of which has anything to do with air pollution. People are confusing Smog, Carbon Monoxide (CO) and the pollutants in car exhaust with the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Pollution is already regulated under the Clean Air Act and regulating Carbon Dioxide (CO2) will do absolutely nothing to make the ai
