POPSSocial Business; yeah, that sounds about right. Stowe Boyd is pushing for re-conceptualizing and (more expressly) re-naming what we commonly refer to as Enterprise 2.0 -- and I couldn't agree more. As anyone who is in the thick of this change can tell you there are a lot more layers to it than the tech layer. Technology may indeed be the cause, but the sociological, anthropological, and cultural effects are without a doubt the intriguing plotlines in this story.

POPSTech Trend: Shanzhai I think it's wrong to dismiss all Shanzhai as pirates. I think some would be hard, ruthless and criminal. Others would be innovative dreamers and doers. I like the description in the article "they run with the attitude of “if you can do it, then I can as well”. POPSThe Solution to Healthcare is Your Bathroom
Under no circumstances can we let people know the aforementioned policies artificially limited the supply of labor and goods, which precipitated the astronomical rise in prices. We can easily place blame on the toilet manufactures, the installers, or the training institutes even though their every move has been dictated by a complex code of laws that was supposed to keep everything under control in the first place. After blame has been sufficiently passed, then it is up to Congress to hammer out a 2,000-page piece of legislation that further controls the toilet industry and ultimately makes it more expensive and inconvenient. It will be penned in English, but the bill will not make sense. Congress will raise taxes, borrow money, and pass strict laws, but amazingly prices will go up and availability will go down. By then, people will all have forgotten about healthcare and will demand even more government to control the spiraling costs of toilets. Problem solved.[/quote

POPSMichael Barone Michael Barone is more a scholar than a pundit/commentator. It's impossible to argue with him since he has all in the info at his fingertips. Here, he points out the benefits of US-style free enterprise in medicine. He also shows how other nations free-ride on US creativity and investment even as they call us right-wing morons.

POPSWe'll Never Disconnect "Auto companies are busy creating new crack hits for our self-destructive cravings. Ford is developing a system that would let drivers use phones and music players and surf the Internet with voice commands and audible responses. Sounds like a computerized death machine. But, as our dealers know, we’ll never disconnect."
