POPSTagadellic taxonomy tags and url alias I think all I need is to manually add an alias for these terms. I had turned path auto off, since it was causing me problems when updating nodes, and I am the only one doing updates or creating nodes.

POPSNectar of the Gods: The cultural history of Chocolate
Chocolate was again the drink the of elite, the delight of the plebeians, the bitterest of potables, the most saccharine of sweets, the iconic symbol of Mesoamerica. In A Tale of Two Cities Dicken’s shows the transitional period of chocolate, between Mesoamerican luxury to the European commoners’ pleasure, when he explains with great detail Monseigneur’s elaborate consumption of chocolate in his Paris hotel room.In Europe—during the time of the novel, and even before—the price of chocolate was a luxury because it had to be brought across the Atlantic ocean before it could be consumed. It was not until 1828 when chocolate changed from a sacred drink to a solid bar we know today, through the addition of cocoa butter. Not only did chemist Coenraad Johannes van Houten of the Netherlands create the process of manufacturing cocoa butter, but he also discovered how to treat chocolate with alkalis to remove the bitter taste that had until that point been characteristic of chocolate.

POPSA little science on positive energy ...positive or negative. It can't be measured with conventional methods, and that makes it all the more exciting and real to those who believe in it. One attempt to give respectability to the idea of positive energy that I recently came across involves a reference to Wilhelm Reich's orgone energy. Although I am tempted to regard talk of ‘positive energy' as superstitious mumbo-jumbo, I do have some sympathy for those who use the term. Psychological research has shown that we can verbally articulate only a fraction of what we experience. A radical response to the articulation gap would be just to refuse to talk about anything we can't put in concrete operational terms. If you come home from a party you hated and just say there was tremendous negative energy, perhaps that is ‘nuff said. Let others fill in the content to the satisfaction of their imagination. You, at least, pointed them in the right direction. <<

Clay Shirky highlights a difference between a tagging approach and a metadata approach. Metadata on Amazon is contributed by publishers and Amazon themselves - and it seems that it is rather inconsistent, with some editions of books falling into the 'Gay', 'Erotica' types of classification whilst other editions of the same book don't. Customers can tag products with words of thei own choosing. Amazon appears to have decided to remove some classifications, based on the metadata, from their sales ranking mechanism. An email they sent to Mark Probst suggested that this was a policy decision to protect their customer base. Classifications which have been affected include feminist literature, classics, LGBT literature and books on sex and disability. Amazon have apparently subsequently said that this is due to a glitch - a story people on Twitter are not believing. So, Amazon has a problem - de-ranking products based on their classification system is causing annoyance (to put it

POPSAbout Video in the Classroom The revised Bloom's Taxonomy puts creating at the highest level. Most traditional teaching asks students to memorize and recall information whereas filmmaking asks students to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources, decide how to illustrate that information, and make decisions about presentation.
