we (you, I, us, the taxpayers) gave the "too big to fail" banks our money so they wouldn't collapse, collapse under their own weight from their own mistakes created by their own greed, and now that they're solvent again, they're rewarding themselves for the fuck up, instead of paying us back

U.S. to Lose $400 Billion on Fannie, Freddie, Wallison Says
merrie
by merrie  1-3-2010    2
“The situation is they are losing gobs of money, up to $400 billion in mortgages,” Wallison said in a Bloomberg Television interview. The Treasury Department recognized last week that losses will be more than $400 billion when it raised its limit on federal support for the two government-sponsored enterprises, he said. Lax regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac led to the mortgage companies taking on too many risky loans, Wallison said. “It turns out it was impossible to regulate them,” he said. “They were too powerful.” He said no one knows how much will be needed to keep the companies solvent. Faith in Free-Market Capitalism Is Being Rewarded
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  12-31-2009
The biggest source of economic stimulus is not the $800 billion Barack Obama spending package. It's the $4.6 trillion of capital gains thrown off by the stock market over the past three quarters. This is investment money, and it also enhances consumer spending. As a result, jobs are likely to start rising early in 2010. The other source of economic stimulus is the amount of money Michael Moore invests in Dominos Pizza and Krispy Kreme, only later to bemoan those same corporations in which he owns shares. Michael Moore-on's movie in which he capitalistically makes money off of gullible liberals’ hatred of capitalism? Seriously, not only did that movie bomb, but the hippo-like hypocrite became enchanted by the ideals of socialism when he took an economics class while coked out of his mind. Using socialism to help revive a failing economy is like putting angry weasels down your pants because you need some rest.

Another Bailout – GMAC To Get More Money
merrie
by merrie  12-30-2009    1
GMAC says they want to prepare itself to repay the U.S. Government. Is taking more tax payer funds a necessary step before repaying the Government? I don’t know what kind of math GMAC is using to come up with an idiotic statement like that, but if it is the same math they use to balance the books at their retail bank (Ally Bank) then I would run as fast as I could away from that one. The mortgage-related write-downs to be announced as early as this week will affect assets held by ResCap and Ally Bank, GMAC’s online bank. Ally Bank was created after the company received approval in late 2008 to convert to a bank holding company and qualify for government money under TARP. The arrangement left the Federal Reserve with regulatory authority over the parent. From the Ally Bank web site: Who we are We are Ally Bank, built on the foundation of GMAC Financial Services. And with that experience we’ve learned that these times demand change .....

10 Reasons Why Republicans Will Win in 2010

CAP and TAX – Another massive tax increase on American families and small businesses. Ben Nelson’s Payoff – Ben Nelson sold his health care vote to Harry Reid for $300+ million in lower taxes for Nebraska. The $12 Trillion+ National Debt – Democrats in Congress spending money they don’t have. Mortgaging our children’s future. Nationwide Unemployment rate at 10% - The Democrats are spending money like it’s going out of style and yet they are ignoring policies that would create new jobs. The Government Takeover of Health Care - If the bill that comes out of Congress is signed into law, it will amount to a massive government expansion into our daily lives. It is the number one reason why Democrats should be defeated. Huck PAC is determined to lead the charge next year to regain Republican Majorities in the House and Senate. We will only support conservatives. We have a December online fundraising goal that we are $9,119 away from reaching. Will you make a donation today to

I'm glad that our Texas senators called bullshit on this pork-laden, unconstitutional monstrosity. Yeah. I know, I know, I KNOW! Republicans do it, too. The problem is with the entire Congress.  The deal is for Ben Nelson, forever and forever, Amen. Forever and ever and only for Nebraska! Nebraska will never have to pick up an share of the Medicaid amount due because Ben Nelson sold his soul. As stated on Fox, this is going to outrage an awful lot of people. The response, it already has. How can states that may already be in fiscal trouble be responsible to pay for another states Medicaid obligation. FOREVER!!! Read the text of the bill at Big Government.com (http://bit.ly/8gOike) where every other state in the United States will have to pay for Nebraska’s Medicaid. “As part of the deal to win Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson’s support, the federal government will fund Nebraska’s new Medicaid recipients. It’s a provision worth about $45 million over the first decade.” (Chris Frates, “Ben Nelson’s Medicaid deal,” Politico, 12/19/09)

I listened to a young family man explain that as a laborer all his money went to rent, food, utilities, transportation and occasional doctor bills. He asked, "where am I going to find the money to buy health insurance especially when my company will have to raise the rates?" Why, from the Government of course!!! More Americans on the Government tit. (sorry, but that's how I feel)

The European Union has an unelected President. The Security Counsel of the United Nations was not elected. Climate Change leaders are not elected, not democratic, not basing their decisions of science. Ponder for a moment. Why do they want your money if they can't save the world. ALL IS VANITY. Climate Change taxes are fraudulent. Don't give them your money unless they can save the world (which they can't). I believe that Kyoto was designed to keep the whole continent of Africa in a state of servitude because it thwarts it's development.

The Question of Obama’s Loyalty
merrie

Thus there is no need to further kill jobs, weaken the US Economy, dramatically increase the cost of living, and tax America into oblivion. Obama’s plan is to tax the United States taxpayer and redistribute the wealth or money to Third World Leftist Dictators around the world. The United Nations, who will have their capabilities at corruption compromised by the ongoing exposure of the climate warming hoax offered this shallow attempt to revive the myth. Rajendra K. Pachauri, chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Control, offered up this insipid explanation as to the validity of his panel’s existence. http://bit.ly/4DAtbG Despite efforts to diminish the obvious fact that a science built on fraud is not science, it is a scam and nothing more, politicians like Senator Barbara Boxer, are instead on the attack (http://bit.ly/7S4A0P) stating that hacking is illegal and the US will prosecute the hackers for a crime that was committed in England .....

If You Think Things Have Been Rough, Hang On ’ You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet '
merrie
by merrie  12-3-2009
Just consider. The price of gas will soon likely increase. The cost of servicing our profligate borrowing will, too. One more terrorist attack like at Fort Hood, or nightly sermons from a grandstanding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, or a new Taliban offensive, and the momentum could shift to radical Islam in its decades-long war against the United States. Next year’s tax hikes will be real and large " and no longer just this year’ s idle talk. As these storm clouds gather, Congress bickers on Saturday nights about borrowing even more money for health-care reform, yet another federal entitlement. If you think things have been rough so far, hang on, ’ cause you ain’t seen nothing yet. Seeing No Evil On Climate-Gate
merrie

last decade’s decline in global temperatures. Even more: They conveniently lost the original data on which their house-of-cards computer modeling built the narrative of long-term global warming. On that dubious narrative was built the political momentum for history’s greatest transfer of wealth from developed to undeveloped nations. Even more: They squared and cubed their own corruption, these beneficiaries of tax-supported research money, by closing off legitimate and necessary skepticism, even fantasizing about committing violence against leading skeptics. Their purposes were political: to shape data to suit the agenda of international regulators, many of whom will meet next week in Copenhagen to propose draconian emission controls. That, by any old-school journalist’s reckoning, would constitute a scandal of global proportions, and you’d expect the terriers of the press to bare their teeth.

The Scandal of Hunger in America
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  11-28-2009    4
Tax dollars are wrongly spent on all level of government. For example, in Los Angeles, the lion share of the city budget is spent on the police department. State wide the amount of money spent on the prison system is astronomical. Instead of hiring more cops and incarcerating more people, it would be a wise and durable investment to invest in good and free public education. Federally, the waste of our tax dollars and resources is just as absurd. President Obama will try to justify his escalation of the war in Afghanistan. By sending more troops to Afghanistan, the astronomical defense budget will keep going up and is likely to reach 700 billion in 2010. 1 billion people suffer from chronic hunger. It is Thanksgiving, and while the executives of Goldman Sachs, which are getting ready to pay themselves 21 billion in bonuses, have too much to be thankful for, the 49 million Americans going hungry every day should be resentful of a system that has let them down.
