POPSMom Tasered in front of kids ‘posed no threat You have to read the article (clipped from) to believe this. I myself have emailed sheriff dept expressing outrage over it. I hope she sue's for a few million to get message across that wearing a badge don't make you god. I am proud of the majority of law enforcement and realize their job isn't easy. And yeah their are time when force is needed. Many though now actually look forward now though too any confrontation so they can get to use tazer. It's like a power trip to them. Probably kick dogs to when nobody looking. Need harder testing and philological testing before slap a badge on some of these dipwads. More then likely were bullied in high school and college so now feel they have the power. If as outraged as me thiis is the contact form to leave your statement. http://www.ongov.net/Contact/email/ have to go through county site because sheriff's page conveniently has no email contact pages....

POPSPublic Complaints Against RCMP Up 35%; Taser Use High On List
Following the public uproar over the use of Tasers which sometimes resulted to death of its victims like Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski, the commission observed a drop by almost 50 percent in use of Tasers. While there has been media attention over the use of Tasers, what actually topped the list of complaints against Mounties was attitude, which accounted for 20.6 percent. POPSCheney's Revenge: Coming to a Police Station Near You
A case in which torture was used by police to obtain a DNA sample from a suspect. What is deemed (ruled) acceptable today will become routine tomorrow. With police regularly using tasers to administer summary punishment to non-compliant civilians, it's not surprising that their use has now been authorized as a means of extracting self-incriminating evidence from criminal suspects. It is becoming more likely that tasers and any other “reasonable manner” (as determined by the prosecution) of enforcing compliance will be used to enforce court-ordered compliance. It is also becoming increasingly apparent that the use of torture during the Bush/Cheney regime needs to be addressed, quickly. As the author states: “Don't be surprised if, ere long, the interrogation rooms in American police departments mutate into CIA-style "black sites" of the sort now familiar to more than a few traumatized innocent foreigners.” How many times have the police have arrested the wrong person?

POPSCop Tasers Minor Five Times for Not Getting Off His Bike Fast Enough "If police used these things sparingly and had to answer to board of inquiry whenever they are used, it would be one thing. But they are using them pretty much in any situation and often when they already have someone in custody. And while it's true that as a practical matter one is well advised to cooperate with police, I find it difficult to see how we are a free people, with rights guaranteed by the constitution, if the government is allowed to shoot citizens with electricity solely because they fail to do what agents of the government tell them to do." I thought the police were supposed to protect us from criminals!
