POPSThe Emerging Axis of Iran & Venezuela The US media has been too quiet about what is happening just South of us. Israel isn't the only country that has good reasons for it's concern about the pervasive weapons movements of Iran.

POPSAl Qaeda Takes Credit for Last Week's Baghdad Bombings Since the attack, Maliki has ordered the concrete blast walls to be put back up around sensitive sites, and the military has arrested 11 officers for negligence or aiding in the attack. The Iraqi government has accused both al Qaeda in Iraq and former Ba'athists operating from Syria of conducting the attack. On Aug. 23, state-run television aired the confession of a senior member of the Ba'ath party who is accused of masterminding the attacks. The suspect claimed he was a former policeman in Miqdadiyah in eastern Diyala province, a region that has served as a bastion for al Qaeda in Iraq. He said the attackers paid $10,000 in bribes to ensure that their trucks would pass through checkpoints into Baghdad. The attack was ordered by a senior Ba'ath official based in Syria. Today, the Iraqi government asked Syria to turn over senior Ba'athists Sattam Farhan and Mohammad Younis al Ahmed for their involvement in last week's bombings.

POPSCan the US Imperialist attitude ever gain peace??? When has there ever been real peace negotiations while sides are still killing? Well maybe in the Paris Peace Talks with Vietnam, the US army wanted it both ways. Didn't work then either. Why should the US have boycotts on Syria? Why on Cuba? Surely if your case is fair, then the big stick should be at least out of sight! The value of unfair boycotts have proven pointless in Cuba. The longer the boycott, the stronger the opponent. North Korea!? Yet, I believe that a REAL boycott by the EU appeasers of WW2 would force peace in a year in the Middle East. Diplomacy is an oxymoron for Americans. Few imperialists ever won the peace.

POPSSaudis Also Dismayed by Obama's Seeming Tolerance of Nuclear Iran
However, according to DEBKAfile's Middle East sources, Abdullah took the US president sternly to task over his emerging policy on Iran, Syria and Iraq, accusing him to giving the Islamic Republic free rein for its nuclear, expansionist and terrorism-sponsoring Middle East policies. The Financial Times was the first Western mainstream publication to pick up on the new pro-Iran policy trend dominating Obama's Washington: "US officials are considering whether to accept Iran's pursuit of uranium enrichment… discussing whether the US will eventually have to accept Iran's insistence on carrying out the process." The newspaper quoted Trita Parsi, president of the National Iranian American Council as warning: "The US may still have zero as its opening position , while recognizing it may not be where things stand at the end of a potential agreement." DEBKAfile's military sources fear that Tehran has been given a free run to perfect its ability to . . . . .

POPSAmerican citizen shoted in the head by Israeli Soldier If it had happened at a government protest in say, Syria, we would have been all over it by now. Front page. "SYRIAN TROOPS OPEN FIRE ON AMERICAN!" Newly formed ties might be severed. Consequences would be had. Syria might and probably would apologize for the accident, but Americans wouldn't know or care. But since it was Israel that did it, nobody asks for an apology.

POPSHamas Members Stopped With Suitcases Stuffed With $15 Million
The incident is a sensitive one for Egypt, particularly now when Israel is demanding a halt to Hamas smuggling into Gaza as part of truce negotiations. Israel complains that Hamas - which gets funding from Iran, Syria and donations from supporters - smuggles money and weapons through Egypt into the Gaza Strip. Mostly the smuggling is done through tunnels at the border. But in the past - before border crossings were tightly sealed in 2007 - Hamas officials had brought in cash as well. In 2006, a senior Hamas official bragged about successfully carrying $42 million across the border. Arab banks have generally refused to transfer money to Gaza for fear of running afoul of the United States, which considers Hamas a terrorist organisation Hamas demands that any truce include the full opening of borders into Gaza, which Israel and Egypt have largely kept sealed since Hamas seized control of the territory from Palestinian rivals Fatah in 2007.

POPSNetanyahu, The Real Threat to Peace in the Middle East Hey Israel, do not elect this Likud party war-monger who has direct ties to the neoconservatives of the Bush administration! No more neocons or Likudniks who only foment wars without just cause. His point about "trumping economics" is also ridiculous and proves his lack of sanity. WAR HAS INCREASED US NATIONAL DEBT UNDER BUSH, DEVALUED THE DOLLAR, RAISED OIL PRICES...EVERYTHING THAT HURT THE ECONOMY. So Bibi (his nick), don't try and sell us more wars for "regime change". Neither has Iran ever attacked another country, while Israel (who has WMDs) has. In fact Israel has attacked three countries within the last 24 months--Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza. Netanyahu is also close friends of Larry Silverstein, lease owner of the WTC complex that was demolitioned on 9/11 which ignited the pre-planned wars for a "new middle east" laid out in the Project for New American Century's Sept. 2000 blueprint. Note the elections follow Gaza.

POPSAl-Hopiyah, Al-Changiyah! Ali: Be quiet, I am trying to listen, you donkey. Now, Israel is a strong ally of the United States. They will not stop being a strong ally of the United States. And I will continue to believe that Israel’s security is paramount . . . Ali: “Strong ally.” It is the same from the House Negro as from his white masters, just as Sheikh al-Zawahiri has said. Achmed: No, no, Ali, he said “breakthrough.” What can this mean but uniting Gaza with al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, and sweeping the Jews into the sea at Haifa? Along with their stove-lighting Fatah Shabbat monkeys. Ali: Stop prattling, this part is important. AL ARABIYA : … Let me take a broader look at the whole region. You are planning to address the Muslim world in your first 100 days from a Muslim capital. And everybody is speculating about the capital. (Laughter.) If you have anything further, that would be great. Ali: Ha ha, yes. Which cell of brothers do we activate!?!

POPSViews of Arab-Israeli citizens of their undemocratic state In Jaffa, several local Arab activists were arrested on trumped-up charges and held in jail, purportedly to prevent them carrying out future acts of sedition. Their detention served to scare off not only them from attending subsequent demonstrations, but also their friends, families and the rest of the Jaffa community, leading to the sharp drop in attendees at last night's protest.

POPSRussian S-300 Anti-Air Systems Already Delivered To Iran On July 9, US Secretary of State Robert Gates said: "Based on what I know, it's highly unlikely that those air defense missiles would be in Iranian hands any time soon." Clearly, Gates was misinformed and his intelligence wrong, since five months on, those missiles are on their way to Iran. While both the Bush administration and Israeli leaders insisted that a military option remained on the table if Iran persisted in its nuclear weapons program, neither took into account that Tehran was not deterred or standing idle. This week, the Israeli defense ministry announced that Amos Gilead, a high official, would travel to Moscow Wednesday, Dec. 17 in a final bid to hold the Kremlin's hand. But Olmert and defense minister Ehud Barak had missed another boat.

POPS The Adoration Of The Magi 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
