POPSSarah sad statement about 'Merika--Matt Taibbi Sarah Palin is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the modern United States. As a representative of our political system, she's a new low in reptilian villainy, the ultimate cynical masterwork of puppeteers like Karl Rove. But more than that, she is a horrifying symbol of how little we ask for in return for the total surrender of our political power. Not only is Sarah Palin a fraud, she's the tawdriest, most half-assed fraud imaginable, 20 floors below the lowest common denominator, a character too dumb even for daytime TV -and this country is going to eat her up, cheering her every step of the way. All because most Americans no longer have the energy to do anything but lie back and allow ourselves to be jacked off by the calculating thieves who run this grasping consumer paradise we call a nation.

POPSNo.1 of the Fannie Five - Chris Dodd The Center for Public Integrity criticized Dodd for “being the leading advocate in the Senate on behalf of the accounting industry.” Political consultant and commentator Dick Morris wrote that Dodd had received more from accounting firm Arthur Andersen than any other Democrat and bore responsibility for trying to shield accounting firms from investor fraud liability in cases such as the Enron scandal. Arthur Anderson was forced to surrender its license to conduct CPA business in the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Dodd.

POPSAl Qaeda in Iraq Mastermind Dead Well, if the democrat had had their way, we would have retreated in defeat from Iraq and this scum would still be alive to murder more innocent people. Instead, he is now burning in hell and shocked in his eternal agony that there really were no virgins.

POPSBiden: "I Have Been Field Dressed!" Update: 10:20 - Quite literally in the same breath, Joe laments, "I'm not gonna change..." and then goes on to boast about his record of change. Update: 10:24 - After an unsteady beginning, Palin seemed to get consistenly more comfortable (and more effective throughout the debate). In the home stretch, she's managing to stay on positive notes, enunciating her and McCain's strong points, and thus keeping possession of the ball, leaving Biden to spend much of his times grouchily refuting her. Update: 10:28 - On the final question regarding "changing the tone" in Washington, Joe claims he has never - not since his freshman year anyway - questioned the motives (or opposed to the judgment) of a fellow Senator. Fact check away. Update: 10:38 - Was anyone else bracing for an awkward "hot mic" moment after the debate ended and they left both candidates' mics open?

POPSPakistan Orders Troops to Fire Back Against US Insurgents
Pakistan finally reclaims it sovereignty and orders its troops to fire back if US forces or drones violate their border again and attack on their soil (usually killing more civilians than combatants). This is the only way to change Bush policy and now forces Bush (and even Obama who says he would do same) to reconsider the consequences of such actions. Multi-million dollar attacks using Predator drones is cowardly warfare and a clever way to hit and run while never proving who exactly was being targetted and committing gross negligence in regard to innocent civilians. This is also contrary to the principles of Just War which requires solid ID, direct confrontation where opportunity to surrender is offered, and separating civilians from combatants during any attack, instead of this "just kill them all" policy called "scorched earth". There also is no way to identify (after missiles or bombs strike) who the persons really are, or justification to attack.

POPSwww.robertgrandeforsheriff.com - ROBERT J. GRANDE for SHERIFF Lt. Grande's Accomplishment - RESIGNING in lieu of TERMINATION for verbally expressing an unwillingess to enforce narcotics laws against Drug Dealers & Drug Users while employed at the City of Pahokee Police Department. Gee...I wonder why Lt. Grande didn't mention or provide an explanation within his campaign website, as to the circumstances surrounding his resigning from the Police Department rather than face certain termination? And hey...I don't see where Lt. Grande mentions he was ORDERED to SURRENDER HIS BADGE. Could Lt. Grande have forgotten about why he was separated from City Police Department Service? If anyone finds out why Lt. Grande didn't list any of the above under his campaign website "Accomplishments" category, will you please let me know?

POPSThankfully, Voters Aren't As Stupid As Speaker Pelosi! The gang proposal also does nothing to open up more of Alaska, and nothing to remove the ban on exploring oil shale in states like Colorado and Utah. And some Democrats in Congress are insisting that they will go along only if it also includes a permanent ban on drilling elsewhere on the Outer Continental Shelf. When even officials in Santa Barbara, California, have endorsed offshore drilling, this compromise amounts to a premature surrender. The gang would also impose about $86 billion in new taxes, in large part on oil and gas companies through higher royalty fees and the loss of benefits available to other manufacturers. These new taxes are to be levied on the same companies that paid more than $100 billion in taxes last year, and they are of course the firms that would have to invest the billions of dollars needed to exploit the new offshore resources.

POPSROBERT J. GRANDE for SHERIFF ? robertgrandeforsheriff.com
Come'on Lt. Grande, Fess-Up and explain to the good people of St. Lucie County why you RESIGNED as Lt. Grande from the Pahokee Police Department rather than be TERMINATED by Pahokee's then City Manager because you told the City Manager you wouldn't arrest drug dealers and users because you felt "everyone did drugs" and therefore you couldn't be bothered enforcing narcotics laws. Tell everyone how it felt when the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office District Commanders ordered you to surrender your City issued Badge and equipment. Tell them "Lt. Bobby Grande"...tell them what you've been doing for employment (and why) since you resigned from the Pahokee Police Department...go ahead...explain it to everyone in St. Lucie County by telling the truth about your sympathetic stance toward druggies. Don't want to do that Lt. Grande? Then I suggest you immediately de-activate your candidacy for St. Lucie County Sheriff rather than wait for your inevitable and disgraceful defeat.

POPSMDC challenges Mugabe to new vote The MDC leader gained more votes than Mr Mugabe in March elections but official results show he did not pass the 50% threshold for outright victory. Mr Tsvangirai pulled out of the June run-off, saying 200 of his supporters had been killed and 200,000 forced from their homes in a campaign of violence led by the army and supporters of the ruling Zanu-PF. Zanu-PF has denied the claims and accused the MDC of both exaggerating the scale of the violence and being responsible for it.

POPSNow The Surge Is Succeeding? .......continued... But the National Intelligence Estimate of Jan 2007 said this: Coalition capabilities, including force levels, resources, and operations, remain an essential stabilizing element in Iraq. If Coalition forces were withdrawn rapidly during the term of this Estimate, we judge that this almost certainly would lead to a significant increase in the scale and scope of sectarian conflict in Iraq, intensify Sunni resistance to the Iraqi Government, and have adverse consequences for national reconciliation. OK, so Obama opposed a surge that succeeded and advocated a policy that the NIE said at the time would lead to a disaster in Iraq. As to whether anyone could have predicted that the surge would be effective - well, Bush did introduce it this way in his January 2007 speech: President's Address to the Nation http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/01/20070110-7.html

POPSSouth Africa Tells Robert Mugabe To Surrender Worse was to follow. Mbeki flew to Harare and said that Mugabe and Tsvangirai must meet to sign a memorandum of understanding committing themselves to serious negotiations and to share power. The talks, he insisted, must be concluded within two weeks and the two men must meet, shake hands and sign the memorandum. Mugabe had never been willing to meet Tsvangirai, let alone shake his hand. According to leading Zanu-PF sources, he is frightened of going on trial for human rights crimes, particularly since an arrest warrant was issued against Omar Bashir, Sudan’s president, earlier this month. Under Mbeki’s pressure Mugabe gave in.
