POPSAngry Pakistani tribesmen attack Taliban after bombing Militants have unleashed a new wave of violence in Pakistan in recent months after the military launched major offensives against them in the rugged northwest including Bajaur and Swat regions. The mounting militant threat prompted the government to convene a closed joint session of the two-chambered parliament for a briefing by intelligence officials on internal security. The parliamentarians are due to begin debate on the situation after Pakistan's newly appointed intelligence chief briefed them this week on the militant threat. The growing violence comes amidst a stepped-up campaign by the United States against militant targets inside Pakistan

POPSAnother Terrorist Hijack Plot Foiled You won't see this in our biased mainstream media - reminding us it is very much a dangerous world and ZerObama is not up to the job of Commander in Chief. He may talk the talk, but when it boils down to military action, this Hussein ZerObama isn't about to engage his fellow muslims. Beware this Trojan Horse.

POPSGerman police remove two terror suspects from plane in Cologne According to the German police, the men were not planning to hijack the plane, reports the Telegraaf. It was still unclear at press time what form of attack the suspects were planning, but the paper said they were not believed to be a threat to the Netherlands. One possibility is that the two men were planning to fly on to Africa. ( comment from Dutchnews.nl)

POPSGroup Claims Responsibility for Paki Marriott Bombing Interesting, while Pakistan blames Al Qaeda this "little known" group emerges (from Dubai) and takes responsibility. Interestingly they disclose what the MSM thus far has not: had targeted 250 U.S. Marines and NATO officials which he said had been at the hotel

POPSForeknowlege of Pakistan Marriott Attack Evidenced
Here it is: The leadership dinner was moved at the last minute. At the last minute, apparently on the orders of Mr Zardari and Mr Gilani, it was decided to shift the dinner to the Prime Minister's heavily guarded residence.....it is believed that intelligence services got wind of a possible terror strike and advised that the venue should be changed. But note the gate guards and hotel generally showed no preparation for an attack if we are to believe this tale. Casualties could have been averted and stepped up security deployed, but was not! . Then they emerge afterward and call it Pakistan's 9/11. Like 9/11 there is no hard evidence, only allegation, that Al Qaeda carried out the attacks, while other parties plainly benefit, particularly for setting an agenda. Meanwhile the other clipped article shows that the Marines were placing large metal boxes heavily guarded on the 4th and 5th floors of the hotel where witnesses said the fire broke out firs

POPSCoalition Forces Capture Two Key al-Qaeda Leaders in Baghdad Abu Uthman was initially a leader in another extremist group where he handled the group’s finances and oversaw a group of 100 subordinates. He is alleged to have participated in both battles in Fallujah in April and November 2004, when other terrorists began calling him “Abu Nimr,” meaning “The Tiger.” “The capture of Abu Tiba and Abu Uthman eliminates two of the few remaining experienced leaders in the AQI network,” said Rear Adm. Patrick Driscoll, MNF-I spokesman. “Iraqi and Coalition forces have made great strides in improving security in Iraq, especially in Baghdad.”

POPSTaliban kills 70 Pakistanis in suicide attack The Kamra Air Weapon Complex and Heavy Industries Taxila are also contained within the Wah Cantt. Taxila "is devoted to land combat systems," Global Security notes, while Kamra is believed to be connected with Pakistan's nuclear weapons program. The Pakistani Ordnance Factories are believed to store nuclear weapons at a "screwdriver level" - meaning the components are stored disassembled and can be assembled within hours of use.

POPSTaliban Launches Large Coordinated Assaults The Taliban claimed responsibility for all three attacks in Khost. Their spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahed, reached by telephone at an unknown location, said that 15 suicide bombers, equipped with machine guns and vests packed with explosives, with 30 militants backing them up, attacked the base, one of the largest foreign military bases in Afghanistan. He claimed that some of the bombers had gotten inside the base and had killed a number of American soldiers and destroyed equipment and helicopters. This last claim was denied by General Azimi of the Afghan military.

POPSAl-Qaida chief behind USS Cole attack killed... I've been out-of-pocket for a few days and what great news to find when I return. How long has it taken us to find this guy??? Those poor victims of that attack were not even honored by the presence of the then President who seemed to pretend that terrorist attacks where just isolated incidents. Thank you...whoever you were who got the job done.

POPSRare Images of the War The US military has done an excellent job of censoring images like these. Perhaps if they hadn't been so skilled at denying free speech, support for the war in Iraq would have declined sooner rather than later. By the way, you are allowed to react to these images with your emotions. That's what makes you fully human. Don't let anyone tell you that you should view them solely from the cold aspect of reason. Such people are only censors of a different sort. They would censor your feelings.

POPS4,000 U.S. Combat Deaths, and Just a Handful of Images The truth hurts, right? See the rest of the story at link. People often forget why we anti-war refuseniks are so adamant--this photo is why. Dead Americans. For What? Oil and bullshit. Lies told by criminal President. It's absolutely disgusting, ain't it?

POPSWar Photographer "Disembedded The Marine commanders who saw the photograph were not happy, saying it violated a "trust" between the military and journalists. The reason the Marines gave--that Zoriah had "provided the enemy with specific information on the effectiveness of the attack and the response of U.S. and Iraqi forces to the attack"--was nonsense. Now, I don't like seeing dead Americans at all. But if the country is going to fight a war, then the population needs to see the cost. What's next? Should we also ban combat-wounded paraplegics, amputees, and burn victims from going out in public after they return home? Is it just too shocking? Would not banning them from public allow the terrorists to achieve a victory on our own soil by inflicting dangerously low morale on the American public? Would it help al Qaeda with their battle damage assessments? And we certainly don't want the kids to see that kind of stuff--like Purple Heart awardees walking around without body parts.

POPSDeadliest Attack in Afghanistan The Afghan Interior Ministry hinted that the attack was carried out with help from Pakistan's intelligence service, saying that "terrorists have carried out this attack in coordination and consultation with some of the active intelligence circles in the region." The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, said Pakistan condemned the attack and terrorism in all forms. Unfortunately we have no more troops to send to Afghanistan.

POPSBush: I Care About Bin Laden Again It took a presidential election to change his mind on bin Laden, which has has moved from viciously wanted to casually forgotten and back again. It didn't take 390 Taliban prisoners being freed in a suicide attack to get Afghanistan back in the news, or a 50% uptick in violence in the U.S. controlled southern region. It was simply a few words from the guy on his way out to find the glaring asterik of his presidency somewhere in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan.
