POPSEvery Alaskan gets $3200 from oil money - for nothing! $22,400 for a family of 7, like Palin's. When oil companies pay taxes to Alaska, they deduct it from their federal taxes, and we of the other 49 make up the difference. 85% of budget from oil companies; residents pay no income or sales taxes, and state is rolling in dough, while most states are laying off teachers. How ironic, when an Alaska Republican opposes a windfall profits tax, and favor reduced government services - when they live, in part, off of government handouts from revenue the oil industry pays them to get oil to us!

POPSMinke whales shedding blubber The study is Japanese which puts the problem in a nut shell. They say the whales are 'suffering' because of a low krill number. What is significant about that? Tuna eat krill.

POPSgood story for the hunters among you I love animals, but spent some time in africa on safari. if you kill an animal right, then it is clean kill and does not make the animal suffer. A lot of so called hunters, DO NOT know what they are doing so animals end up suffering, having tusks ripped out of them while alive. this is a good story about a well organized set up! I applaud them!
