POPSForeclosure and Bankruptcy Queens New York NYC In Foreclosure and Bankruptcy, the legal proceedings are started by “mortgagee”. While filing for a bankruptcy, it can help a homeowner to avoid foreclosure. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy can stop foreclosure. In a foreclosure action when legal papers are served against the homeowner there is a little amount of time left for him/her to save the home. A Chapter 13 Bankruptcy would permit us to keep our home while repaying our mortgage arrears over a three to five year period, generally with no interest accumulating on the arrears during the repayment period.

POPSSubsidizing Bad Decisions By Thomas Sowell and as if the people facing foreclosures are the only people that matter. What if the foreclosures are not stopped? Will millions of homes just sit empty? Or will new people move into those homes, now selling for lower prices-- prices perhaps more within the means of the new occupants? The same politicians who have been talking about a need for "affordable housing" for years are now suddenly alarmed that home prices are falling. How can housing become more affordable unless prices fall? The political meaning of "affordable housing" is housing that is made more affordable by politicians intervening to create government subsidies, rent control or other gimmicks for which politicians can take credit. Affordable housing produced by market forces provides no benefit to politicians and has no attraction for them. Study after study, not only here but in other countries, show that the most affordable housing is where there has been the least . . .

POPSBaltimore Homeowner To Sue ACORN For Burglary ~ Tea Party USA Watch ~ I warned about the ACORN civil disobedience mob working in ideological tandem with Barack Obama to bully Washington into passing a massive new foreclosure prevention/mortgage entitlement scheme. On Feb. 20, I noted that ACORN garnered nationwide media attention for breaking and entering into a foreclosed home in Baltimore at 315 South Ellwood Ave. ACORN vows to use “any means necessary” to stop foreclosures. Baltimore police have taken fingerprints at the break-in site and the current owner, William Lane, says he will sue ACORN. The home was sold in June 2008 for $192,000. This morning, ACORN official Louis Beverly will face a burglary charge. Look for the Left to turn him into a martyr. It is not your home, ACORN.

POPSPlease quit listening to "expert"! Wow, wish I lived in these people's world. Unemployment is skyrocketing every day, people are being moved from full time to part time (could you pay your mortgage on 50% of your pay?), and this guys thinks that a "moratorium" on foreclosures will help? Banks are barely issuing mortgages NOW, you allow this to happen and they will stop altogether. And finally, the reason December sales "grew" was because of nationwide AUCTIONS. This is not a positive. We are not 3/4s of the way through, we aren't even 1/2 way there. Hope you all are stashing cash (at home, not banks) and stocking up on food, when all these foolhardy plans are finally stopped-as they will have to be-we will see the real trouble.

POPSGovt. Tries to Stop Foreclosures It's a crazy world we live in. All because folks who couldn't afford homes were able to buy homes and bid the prices up due to funky loan schemes. CRAZY in retrospect, eh?

POPSObama Admits Tax Cuts Produce Jobs Perhaps its just me, but I fail to recall the section of the Constitution that allows someone in the government to simply stop foreclosures in all 50 states at their whim. But this isn't a candidate who has the Constitution in mind very often, is it?

POPSDemocrats In Congress Eye Emergency Bailout — And More But that’s just a start. • Bankruptcy protection for homeowners. Some Democrats see this bill as a golden opportunity to renew their push.... • Social spending and infrastructure funds. The most liberal Democrats are pushing to have an economic stimulus package — with unemployment extensions, infrastructure spending and aid to states — tacked on to the bill. Democratic aides said that more stringent regulations and perhaps a crackdown on CEO compensation is a longer term discussion that may need to wait. • Foreclosure protection. Dodd was intentionally vague when he insisted on foreclosure protection for homeowners..... Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) said, “We have to communicate the fact that if the big guys fail, then your savings, your retirement, your mortgage will be in trouble.” On the opposite end of the spectrum, “It would be a huge problem if the package were used that way ,” Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) said.

POPSOnce Again...This is Not Capitalism “I think that we’ve got to keep people in their homes,” McCain declared in an interview aired Sunday on the CBS news program “Face the Nation.” He continued: “There’s got to be restructuring, there’s got to be reorganization, and there’s got to be some confidence that we’ve stopped this downward spiral.” Obama proclaimed that the takeover should not be used to “protect investors and speculators who relied on the government to reap massive profits,” while McCain denounced “executives were making hundreds of—some billion dollars a year while things were going downhill.” The Republican candidate acknowledged, “This is the kind of cronyism, corruption, that’s made people so justifiably angry.” All of this is empty demagogy. The speculation, cronyism and corruption that pervaded the operations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are emblematic of the parasitism and criminality of the America’s ruling financial elite as a whole.
