POPSKeeping Bees - "Beekeeping for Beginners" Review I have to admit, I really did not know much about bees or keeping bees except they can sting and they make honey. This was the extent of my knowledge until reading the e-book, "Beekeeping for Beginners". The book was really interesting and I learned a great deal from it. I now feel I could start home beekeeping and enjoying all the benefits that brings. It is nice to know a few things about bees that most people do not as well.

POPSDust Fills The Air "Rothstein in 1964 was interviewed by Richard Doud for the Smithsonian. In contrast to Rothstein’s articles on the mechanics of picture taking, he offered Doud an analysis of how his picture “Fleeing a Dust Storm” changed over time. Its very meaning. Its purpose."

POPSTime To Man Up, Barry
The sentence for Kian Tajbakhsh was the longest prison term yet in a mass trial of more than 100 opposition figures, activists and journalists in the post election turmoil. The longest sentence so far, yet news accounts offer no explanation as to what Mr. Tajbakhsh did to deserve arrest, let alone a 12 year sentence. Apparently he was arrested at his home, not at a demonstration. News of his sentence was coupled with reports of lenient treatment given to a Canadian citizen: At the same time, Iran allowed another defendant to leave the country--Canadian-Iranian Maziar Bahari, a Newsweek journalist arrested in the same crackdown who had been freed on bail over the weekend. Bahari joined his British wife, who is in the last days of her pregnancy, in London, Newsweek said on its Web site Tuesday. It could be a coincidence. But news accounts certainly raise a question whether the mullahs are publicly sticking their finger in the Obama administration's eye, letting a Canadian go . .

POPSTop U.S. Scientist Arrested in FBI Sting Attempting to Sell Nuclear Secrets to Israel
The conduct alleged in this complaint is serious and should serve as a warning to anyone who would consider compromising our nation’s secrets for profit,” said David Kris, assistant attorney general for national security. … “From 1989 through 2006, Nozette held security clearances as high as top secret and had regular, frequent access to classified information and documents related to the US national defense,” the Justice Department said. … “In addition, Nozette allegedly offered to reveal additional classified information that directly concerned nuclear weaponry, military spacecraft or satellites, and other major weapons systems,” DOJ said. In addition to allegations against a network of moles said to be based at U.S. nuclear weapons facilities, Edmonds has also fingered current and former members of Congress, such as Dennis Hastert (R-IL), Dan Burton (R-IN), Roy Blunt (R-MO),Stephen Solarz (D-NY) and Tom Lantos (D-CA, deceased), as well as high-ranking Pentagon and State Dept.

POPSScientist spying for Israel busted by the FBI
An affidavit suggests why FBI agents posed as agents of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to conduct the sting operation. From 1998 to 2008, the complaint alleges, Nozette was a technical adviser for a consultant company that was wholly owned by the Israeli government. Nozette was paid about $225,000 over that period, the court papers say. Then, in January of this year, Nozette allegedly traveled to another foreign country with two computer thumb drives and apparently did not return with them. Prosecutors also quote an unnamed colleague of Nozette who said the scientist said that if the U.S. government ever tried to put him in jail for an unrelated criminal offense, he would go to Israel or another foreign country and "tell them everything" he knows. The complaint does not allege that the government of Israel or anyone acting on its behalf violated U.S. law. In Jerusalem, Israeli government officials had no immediate comment. The affidavit by FBI agent Leslie Martell s

POPSThe hapless, clueless media "They wanted to know if O'Keefe, the 25-year-old mastermind of the operation, had been trained at the infamous Leadership Institute, a conservative political organization in Washington. It was as if his motivations were somehow the issue. "

POPSThe Politcs of Exploitation "The ramifications of ACORN and the incident at the Burlington School (and other similar occurrences are coming to light) reach far beyond those situations. America will never be a land of opportunity for all, as long as its population can be successfully divided into "subcultures," some of which are willing to be herded like sheep. Any portion of the population that accepts such a role can expect to be methodically trodden down in perpetuity."

POPSHarvey Johnson: American Pedophile in Cambodia Harvey Johnson, American retiree was the subject of a sting operation by Nightline. Johnson moved to Cambodia, set himself up as a volunteer English teacher which gave him access to lots of very young students. He procured children for his own personal use as well as to sell to other pedophiles. The article is disturbing, the videos even more so. Part 1 was more than enough for me. Also featured is a 66 year old American who "fell in love" with a 14 year old that he purchased from her mother. Both "peds" are being prosecuted by various agencies. This website features several activists and their efforts to end this kind of exploitation.

POPSFood for Thought: Corruption Crusading Truth seeking: Yes the ACORN employees willing to cover child prostitution and income tax fraud is vile. But the Political Right loves to go after poor people and the organizations that help them. The Right is silent about the big $$$$$ corruption, scandals and warmongering within their ranks. That is the scandal: complicit silence about the corruption that truly affects the economic well being of the country.

POPSIllegal immigrant muslim tries to bomb Dallas building Does anyone see a pattern here. Muslim enters the U.S. illegally, then plots to set off bombs. I would be very curious how this vermin entered. My bet would be the Mexican border. You know, the one the democrats refuse to seal and protect. OK, so for every one of these rats we capture how many others are there out there living in those muslim enclaves, hatching plots? They say America doesn't export anything anymore. I suggest exporting muslims. Send them back to the s#@*hole they came from.

POPSAndrew Breitbart's Interview With Michael Savage Obama said today that he "welcomes an investigation", but so did Nixon. I mean there is always the feeling that you will be somehow protected against being "connected". We'll see what Andrew comes up with. I'm curious. Speculation brews over at The Green Room. POPSAcorn Pimp Sting, Child Prostitution and Accountability When I heard about this story I checked HuffPo and Truth Dig: nothing. Checked again the next day, still nothing. WTF is up with all of this silence? From page 20 of the transcript: the conversation is about 15 year old girls from El Salvador James: What if they are going to be making money because they are performing tricks too. Tonya (ACORN): but if they making money you shouldn't be letting anybody know anyway. Wow. Disgusting. Horrible. Unconscionable. I am absolutely stunned by that exchange. I have worked at community organizations and I never met anyone like this Tonya. GRRRRR.....

POPSACORN CEO: ‘Attacks Racially Motivated’ Last night on the ABC World News with Charles Gibson, CEO Lewis reiterated her indefensible remark from the press release and when asked about conservative and Republican attacks on her organization she told Jake Tapper "I think, you know, basically they’re saying, these people shouldn’t be trusted. How could they be trusted, you know, they’re all black and brown people?" All black and and brown people? Lewis must have missed the video from the San Berardino, Calif office where the workers were white. Unfortunately for the Democrats and Obama this story is far from over. POPSA Tale of Two Protection Rackets: ACORN’s — and The Media’s
This is the network that surreptitiously rigged GM pickup trucks in staged crash tests in 1993 to show that the vehicles were unsafe " and failed to inform viewers that the simulations used incendiary devices to ignite the explosions. This is the network that sent out an intrepid NBC News reporter in a canoe to cover treacherous New Jersey flooding in 2005 " only to be shown up by passers-by who sloshed in front of the camera and demonstrated that the water was only a few inches deep. This is the network that tried to arrange Islamophobia stings at NASCAR events in 2006 to try and “expose” racism among Southerners. The network worked with a Muslim activist who sent a recruitment notice across the Internet: They are looking for some Muslim male candidates for their show who would be willing to go to non-Muslim gatherings and see if they attract any discriminatory comments or actions while being filmed…NBC is willing to fly in someone and cover their weekend expenses.

POPSBreaking: ACORN Bombshell #4 Due From BigGovernment Tomorrow
ACORN and Obama at the Heart of the Mortgage Meltdown Starting in the nineties, a young attorney named Barack Obama began working with ACORN to promote mortgages for those who could not afford them. At the time, ACORN consisted of community agitators, who falsely accused banks of "redlining" (failing to offer mortgages to the urban poor). These groups would pack bank lobbies and harass customers in order to intimidate the institutions and force the government to lower underwriting standards. A former community agitator and ACORN attorney named Barack Obama sued Citibank in 1994, just one of hundreds of nuisance lawsuits filed by ACORN and its affiliates to loosen mortgage underwriting standards. The inevitable result is still unfolding. But this much is clear: ACORN, its attorneys and its sycophants in Congress unleashed a catastrophic meltdown on America. It used government power to to force financial institutions to underwrite completely unqualified applicants . .

POPSGiant Sea Worm Terrorizes Aquarium
As in all good horror films, Barry went about all that bloodcurdling business in the shadows to begin with, stealthily stalking the victims. Unobserved by the all staff cast at Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium, the four-foot long sea worm attacked and mutilated coral reefs and apparently maimed a prize Tang fish in the tank he had infiltrated. When alarm bells about an intruder started ringing among the workers, the cunning critter devoured not only the bait but also the hooks on traps that had been set overnight. Barry even bit through a 20-pound fishing line, before eventually being lured out with fish scraps in a gripping climax, as the aquarium display was dismantled rock by rock. Thought to be a tropical polychaete worm, Barry is a real life sea monster, armed with sharp, powerful jaws that can slice prey in two, and covered with thousands of bristles purportedly capable of numbing a human with their sting. When in predatory mode, these omnivorous creatures will bury their long bodie

POPSCensus Bureau Severs Ties With ACORN The firings came less than 24 hours after another pair of ACORN officials from the group's Baltimore office were canned for instructing the "pimp" and "prostitute" how to falsify tax forms and seek illegal benefits for 13 "very young" girls from El Salvador that pair said they wanted to import to work as child prostitutes. Both of the encounters were videotaped on a hidden camera wielded by 25-year-old independent filmmaker James O'Keefe, posing as the pimp " tapes that have ignited calls for investigations of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. The group's leaders said Friday they were "appalled and angry" at what their staffers had done, but insisted the videos were part of a representative of the institution as a whole. "But that does not excuse the behavior of the employees," wrote ACORN's president Alton Bennet and executive director Mike Shea.
