POPSPeople give birth and die on Facebook (internet actually)
The thing about Facebook and Twitter is that unlike earlier times on the Internet, these two companies have shaped the perception of people connected to each other more closely than ever before. Everyone is on-line on FB or Twitter or both!. Not that people were not connected earlier via email or email groups (and some exclusively still are), but FB and Twitter are humongous instant messenger type services where everyone perceives as something where you know others are on (email does not give a perception that you are on and individual instant-messenger were always individual). So as Facebook comes up with ideas on what to do with people who are dying on the internet, I think they should also come up with some special arrangements when people are born. I'm not talking about some FB application (I hate them and they are annoying). There is no denying that babies are being born on Facebook every day (it sounds weird but that is a truth).

POPS11 Most Common Writing Mistakes I will be the first to admit that I am not that great at grammar. This sentence probably isn't correct. Check out these 11 common mistakes to help get or keep you on track with your writing.

POPSTexting instead of sleeping
This is so disturbing. Social media has such wonderful potential, but seeing it used like this is depressing. Call me crazy but i would strongly consider advocating legislation that caps the number of text messages, tweets, status updates, etc. that a minor is allowed to send. God knows how many of them text while driving, putting us all at great risk. Between twitter and text messaging, society's use of social tools to stay connected 24x7 all day, every day just makes no sense to me. Seeing tweets about what people are doing, who they're with, where they're going, what they're eating, what they're watching just makes no sense to me. Who cares! Is there no joy in doing something anymore unless we can instantly tweet about it, upload a photo of it or broadcast it to our 'friends' on facebook? I think there is so much to gain from social media...so much to learn. But right now i feel like people are drunk on the idea and using it extreme ways that will look foolish in hinds

POPSWhat exactly is helpful about this? I looked in the Facebook help area to see what had been said about editing status updates. Found this really helpful unhelpful bit. Good question, but how could 34 people have found it helpful?

POPSPost from Facebook to Twitter Many people want to share their content, with as many people as they could. These days Facebook is working on a way to combine the power of Facebook and twitter together so that people can send status updates from their Facebook pages to their twitter accounts!

POPSA Twitter User with an Invisible Account & 35,000 followers A mysterious Twitter user with the username “home” seems to be getting a rather raw deal. Whenever somebody tries to access Twitter.com/home they are redirected to the Twitter homepage – it seems that this particular account has been grandfathered and overwritten without the user knowing.

POPS Facebook to compete with Google? "Google has long tried to get into the social game, and Facebook surely wouldn't mind expanding into some of Google's territory. It's as classic an American struggle as Pepsi vs. Coke. Two companies, one market. Regardless of which side you choose, Facebook will be happy to air your thoughts on the matter. After all, that's why Facebook bought FriendFeed. So it could."

POPSFacebook Buys FriendFeed This is a bad deal! I have accounts on Facebook, FriendFeed and Twitter. On a scale of 1-10, I rate them 8, 5, and 2, respectively. I don't want lowly '2' buying average '5' so it can wipe out the very useful '8'. Bummer!

Though each of these excerpts made me laugh out loud, they are from of an interesting article that discusses the possibility that Facebook may have seen its best days and that its demise may be forthcoming...some excellent insight into the nuances of the user experience.

POPSFacebook badly needs the Retweet 100% agree. The Retweet is freaking brilliant. It rewards the person doing it as well as the person receiving it...and it allows information to circulate throughout twitter very efficiently. without something like it, the facebook stream is much less dynamic and viral.
