POPSNixon's Enemies List The official purpose, as described by the White House Counsel’s Office, was to “screw” Nixon’s political enemies, by means of tax audits from the IRS, and by manipulating “grant availability, federal contracts, litigation, prosecution, etc.” Is this practice still exist in our society in one way or another? Somebody has a doubt?

POPSRahm Emanuel Is the Definition of Unprincipled They didn’t fight to dismantle Bush’s entire edifice of repression, including the NSA spying and the Military Commissions Act. And they haven’t fought to bring the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to speedier close.

POPS12 Years Jail Sentences For 2 US Journalists Imprisoned in NKorea U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday she was "incredibly concerned" about the plight of the two women. In working for their release, Clinton said she has spoken with foreign officials with influence in North Korea and explored the possibility of sending an envoy to the North, but suggested that no one would be sent during the trial. Another American who was tried in North Korea in 1996 was treated more leniently. Evan C. Hunziker, apparently acting on a drunken dare, swam across the Yalu River - which marks the North's border with China - and was arrested after farmers found the man, then 26, naked. He was accused of spying and detained for three months before being freed after negotiations with a special U.S. envoy. The North Koreans wanted Hunziker to pay a $100,000 criminal fine but eventually agreed on a $5,000 payment to settle a bill for a hotel where he was detained.

POPSObama Adminstration Invites Iran To 4th Of July Parties . . . . . So let me get this straight. The Iranians burn American Flags, Chant ‘Death to America’ in the streets and kill our soldiers in Iraq all because they are pissed . . . . . . During that meeting in The Hague, U.S. delegates passed an informal note to Iranian officials seeking information about three Americans then missing or detained in Iran. Last month, Iran released one of the Americans, Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi, who was tried and convicted of spying for the United States. Obama and other U.S. officials have said they do not expect to see much movement from Iran until after the country holds presidential elections in the middle of the month, but have sketched a rough deadline of the fall by which they hope to see positive responses to their overtures.

POPSUS Spy Flies to gain new eyes Techno geeks continue to make it easier to spy on and congratulate themselves for making spy tools smaller and more efficient. Politicians enable warrantless wiretapping to be more legally acceptable. They feign outrage but don’t punish those who authorized and instigated spying on us. The NSA spy-fest during the Bush administration was met with outrage by the press (for a very sort time) but nothing has come of it. Are they still spying on us? The police state grows because, let’s face it, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of resistance. Local police kick and beat suspects, boldly in front of cameras, and they are cleared of any wrong doing, which just emboldens them even further. Bloggers and citizen reporters are the only real sources of what is actually happening to us because the MSM is so concerned with keeping their ad income that true investigative reporting is all but dead. If somehow the internet gets shutdown, we will truly be in the dark.

POPSBrutalizing Prisoners at Gitmo Under Obama
Since taking office, Obama has: 1. Reconstituted the Military Commissions. 2. Denied detainees Constitutional and Geneva Conventions protections. 3. Praised torturers and murderers as dedicated public servants and vowed to violate US law to protect them from prosecution. 4. Expanded Bush's State Secrets legal theory. 5. Continued illegally spying on Americans. 6. Continued to use USAPATRIOT Act powers and not called for repeal. 7. Retained Gates as Secretary of Defense despite his tainted record. 8. Promoted General MacChrystal to commander in Afghanistan despite his tainted record. 9. Continued contracts with abusive, fraudulent private contractors. 10. Concealed evidence of war crimes. 11. Increased illegal attacks on Pakistan. 12. Increased drone attacks, with a horrific civilian death and injury rate, in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. 13. Not banned white phosphorus or cluster munitions. 14. Escalated the Afghan war. 15. Adopted Bush's Iraq war plan. 16. Threatene

POPSpelosi the enabler this speaks to all who let George - Cheney.....make up the rules to suit their agenda- standing idly by and letting these things be written as being somehow- magically lawful- and making our country safer - is a crime too- Bush should have been extracted from office on the 12th of September 2001- too bad everybody was running around to scared out of their minds to think clearly and see this- i used to have a shirt that said "there's a terrorist behind every bush" I had those very thoughts when i saw the towers fall/heard of spying on U.S. citizens- saw troops sent to conquer imaginary weapons of mass destruction-all by design- somehow it seems to me- and the people in power too busy sitting on their hands not knowing what to do - is just as bad as following the orders- etc- it is a mess- and it doesn't speak very highly of those in supposed control- and members of the human race
