POPSPassive-Aggression, Lies, Hypocrisy
In their very denials, they blatantly show their bias. Watching MSNBC, I think it is possible that often they really don't think it is showing. Panel members, after multiple exchanges where 5 or 6 (against 1) make snide references in their "analysis", show disdain contrasting wildly with the fawning speech reserved for the DNC & Obama, unashamedly lashing out at speakers they felt personally offended by,...they end up putting together a pair of collective presentations that, to a bipartisan observer, are like night and day. THEN have the balls (incldng. Rachel Maddow)to come off angrily defending their smear-style "journalism" dripping with partisan unevenness of tone, and nastiness, while framing the accusation as - (get this) - a tired Republican tactic. Oh my God! I think they may actually even believe it. How are humans so removed from their own behaviors, I wonder, whether in personal or private. Denial of this nature is to the level of a serious addiction or mental disorder. I

POPSMcCain Camp. Manager: Election 'Not About Issues' Obama hits back today: “Which probably explains why last night when they were speaking, all these speakers (at the Republican National Convention) came up, you didn’t hear a single word about the economy,” Obama said at an economic forum in New Philadelphia, Ohio. “Not once did people mention the hardships that people are going through.” “I guess I don’t blame them,” Obama added, “because if you don’t have any issues to run on, you want it all to be about personality. If you have got George Bush’s track record and John McCain voting 90 percent of the time in agreement with George Bush, then you probably you don’t want to talk about issues either.”

POPSBush has been "falsely" Accused? As if Bush's energy politics have helped any. Failed policies for 8 solid years. No cars made in America with better gas miles, no solar industry compared to the level we should be, no wind, only hot air from the rear

POPSThe Editors of National Review on the Pick We hope that the choice of Palin also signals a decisive turn toward a campaign theme of fighting for the middle class. McCain and Palin can and should say that they will fight to protect Americans from our foreign enemies, to stop liberal excesses, and to reform dysfunctional institutions. They should not accept the portrait of middle-class Americans as hapless victims that so many of the Democratic speakers this week portrayed; but they need to show that they share middle-class frustrations. Strength in foreign policy; reforms of taxes and health care geared to the middle class; and a moderate social conservatism: It’s a potentially winning message, and now Republicans have a ticket that is suited to it.

POPSViolence Against Women - or Fatherhood and Men? Since the inception of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994, the domestic violence industry has had over ten years to solve, or improve, the problem of domestic violence in our society. Billions and billions of dollars have been spent to create a fat, bloated bureaucracy that appears at times to have done as much to harm to the lives of women as it has done to help, and soon that bureaucracy will be asking for more money. POPSResearchers regrow crucial inner ear cells One of the most common causes of hearing loss, is constant exposure to loud noise, which can literally snap the hairs off the base. The more exposure, the more hairs snap off, and of course now we are beginning to see the effects of the 'ipod syndrome' where the volume is maxed out. Like standing next to speakers that are turned up to 11. (You might need to know about the band Spinal Tap) There is no doubt that prevention is better than cure, but some people wont listen. Until they reach the point where they can't listen.

POPSPoor, Poor Buttsore Billary This is an especially sore point for Bill Clinton, people close to him say, because among many grievances he has about the campaign Obama waged against his wife is a belief that the candidate poor-mouthed the political and policy successes of his two terms. One senior Obama supporter said the Clinton associates negotiating on her behalf act like “Japanese soldiers in the South Pacific still fighting after the war is over.” A prominent Obama backer said some of Clinton’s lieutentants negotiating with the Obama team are “bitter enders” who presume that, rather than the Clintons reconciling themselves to Obama’s victory, it is up to Obama to accommodate them.

POPS The Left vs Free Speech The truly outrageous aspect of such comparisons is that the American left, with its Stalin-redux willingness to rearrange history, neglects to mention that, outside of Japan, all of the 20th century's great totalitarian regimes had roots on the political left. It wasn't just Lenin and Stalin whose propaganda machine prefigured MoveOn. Nazi is an acronym for "National Socialist." Read Mein Kampf. It isn't a tribute to free-market capitalism, folks. Mussolini was a populist. Mao was a leftist, as was Pol Pot. The last century's worst censors and book burners all emerged from leftist ideologies. As this column recently pointed out, Support Our Troops, Bring Them Home! disappeared from the political scene the instant Obama called for sending those troops to Afghanistan and Pakistan, instead of back to Fort Hood. For the hardcore left, the party line always trumps conscience. MoveOn isn't new - it's just Pravda with poor punctuation.

POPSGenetics Show How Prehistoric Cultures Migrated & Shared Knowledge The researchers tracked genetic variation on the Y chromosome, the sex chromosome passed from father to son that encodes maleness, using a technique now widely used that was developed in the early 1990s by Underhill and colleagues in the lab of Luigi Cavalli-Sforza, professor emeritus of genetics. The method has given scientists a powerful window into ancient human migrations and prehistoric cultural shifts. The technique has also been adopted by some commercial genealogy services that offer Y-chromosome testing to the public.
