POPSWhat if Electricity Was FREE??? The life story and work of Nikola Tesla. He invented AC electricity, Neon Lights, Radio transmission, The Electric motor, Wireless electricity transfer, Remote control, Hydraulics, Lasers, Space weapons, Robotics, and many, many more things. As Tesla claimed to have invented a way to harness free energy from the voltage difference in the ionosphere that causes lightning, he was seen as a threat to the world energy economy and most of his inventions were classified for national security by the US government. A lot of his discoveries in physics have not been released to the public, despite being invented nearly 100 years ago. In 2006 the first company publicly announced it could successfully power items by remote power without wires, (news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6129460. stm) something Tesla had invented nearly a century ago.

POPSScience Never Stops :-) This is an entertaining and fairly level headed “what the future will bring” piece. It covers the promise and perils of a pretty diverse set of topics: nuclear power, space travel, power transmission, aviation, food production, urban growth, race relations and even (sort-of) outsourcing.

POPSNasa beams Beatles' song into space I thought our radio waves naturally radiated into space? So little alien buggers will hear the song, come to earth wanting to meet the Beetles, find out John Lennon has been murdered then get angry...and that will be the end of the world as we know it.

POPSNo mere whale tale No longer a figment of science fiction imagination, that is Star Trek and the Voyage Home movie which centered around time travel and bringing a humpback whale from the 20th century to the future to save mankind, but reality and now proven with science that these whales are smart. Maybe they have already communicated with outer space.... "thanks for all the fish"?
