Repost: PCAST H1N1: An Improbable Scenario Requiring More Stringent Non-Medical Measures
nuttyriv3r
by nuttyriv3r  10-24-2009
I had to repost this in response to the strange declaration of a National Emergency. Thanks to the so-called National Response Framework, the Constitution has essentially been suspended. So something nasty is probably about to happen not too far along here in the United States of America. In which time, I pray you will all remember by subtle, underlying message regarding the Kingdom of God which trumps, reigns, and is sovereign over this - the devil's kingdom. It also shall preserve it's residents and those who acknowledge Its sovereignty. This is learned through the grace of God which is the love of all of man where he cares for none to perish, but to come to righteousness through belief in and faithfulness in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, your savior, and my savior. For his promise is true. Amen. With much love, your brother in Christ - David Batchelder.

Genius: Mortgage Program Will Spend $3,000,000 per Loan Repair
merrie
by merrie  10-19-2009    2
Three million mortgages are believed to be eligible for HAMP with 500,000 in a trial phase. The trial was supposed to last three months, but it has since been stretched to five months . The Doctor believes that many of these "repaired" loans will simply re-default. Why? For one reason, the underwriting (courtesy of TurboTax Tim) for the program uses "stated income", not verified income. These are the very same "liar's loans" that helped trigger the mortgage meltdown! Examining the chart, of the 50,130 trial modifications entered into in May, only 1,711 (or only 3%) resulted in a permanent modification! As The Huffington Post reported a few days ago, the low number of permanent modifications is still appallingly low ("HAMP will come nowhere close to keeping up with foreclosures"). Among the reasons for the low conversion rate: failure to make timely payments (doh!), failure to assemble necessary documentation (like income verification), and other . . .

In Women's Studies courses, co-eds learn to be feminist "change agents" and harass professors who step out of line. Women's Studies originated in the training schools of the US Communist Party in the 1940's. The Rockefeller Foundation sponsors Women's Studies. If you Google "Rockefeller Foundation" and "Women's Studies," you will get 128,000 entries.

Parsing the “preparedness” phenomenon - Part 5
nuttyriv3r
by nuttyriv3r  8-12-2009
You get the idea. All of this was simply gathered from a Google News search for "preparedness." This just seems kind of out of control to me. I'm just 30 years old, but I have never seen so much propaganda and social engineering regarding all of this in my short life. What has changed? Climate? Terror? Technology? There must be some ulterior motive or agenda being spear-headed here. It could simply be that this is the only industry left in America. Pitching fear and a remedy. The bigger the fear, the more costly the remedy.

Microsoft Millionaire: Why I Should Pay More Taxes
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  8-6-2009    8
He wants to rescind the tax breaks given to the wealthy to help the U.S.!? I’ll bet he’ll be banned from the country club and a place at the round table now. The Bush-era tax cuts gave $700 billion in breaks over eight years to those with annual incomes more than $200,000. The U. S. borrowed money to make these tax cuts possible, even as our schools, infrastructure, research institutions and social services were in need of new investments. “Taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized and healthy society. Those of us who have disproportionately benefited from public investments have a responsibility to pay back our society so that others can have similar opportunities.” I like this guy. He says “it is just and fair that our generation make comparable investments in our future to ensure that America continues to offer our children and grandchildren the same kind of opportunities it offered me.”

Does a nation's mood lurk in its songs and blogs?
Aribeth
by Aribeth  8-4-2009    1
“And it’s going to change the social sciences; that to me is very clear.” ... From another site, http://wefeelfine.org/ , they pulled more than nine million sentences that used some form of the verb feel — as in “I feel relieved” — from 2.3 million blogs from 2005 to 2009.They then rated the psychological charge, or “valence,” of a significant subset of the words on a 10-point scale: from triumphant (8.82) and love (8.72) down to disgusted (2.45) and suicide (1.25). Some of the findings were expected. Sept. 11, 2001, was rock bottom, for instance. Others were less so: the day that Michael Jackson died also lowered people’s mood significantly. Christmas and Valentine’s Day regularly popped as positive times, although words like “guilty” were associated with Christmas and “waste” and “lonely” with Valentine’s Day. “Now, these are bloggers, and they certainly are not representative of everyone,” Dr. Dodds said. “But the pattern is very pronounced.”

Politburo Mulls Airbrushing Reagan
merrie
by merrie  7-3-2009
The White House blog exults about the triumphs of social engineering through energy policy. It’s got a quaint Soviet Realist, five-year planny kind of feel to it. Meanwhile, Jammie Wearing Fool suggests the Dems quit pussyfooting around and just name it after Obama. Red State: “But citizen, it has always been known as Obama National Airport.” G’day Instapundit, etal, always good to see you. You know about Obama’s Whiskey Tango Foxtrot strategy, right? That’s the one where commanders in the field say, “We need more troops,” and POTUS says “WTF?” … We’re also mulling whether the time is right to Whack Now, plus Rule Of Law By Military Coup. And please feel free to browse around Crittenden’s Right-Wing Warmonger Bookshop and General Store.
