POPS20% of Profit from $700 Billion Snafu Pegged for Democrats' Pet PAC! While Democrats are busy waffling between blaming the whole standoff on McCain and claiming that he contributed little to the discussion (Pelosi called his participation a "blip"), these liberals failed to mention Dodd had earmarked 20% of profits from the $700 billion bailout to go to ACORN, a liberal PAC accused of vote fraud! Ask yourself why Pelosi's so hot to push a Bush plan in the first place...

POPSNew Program Aids Homeless Vets, But Not Nearly Enough The shelter that housed the two homeless Vets, called "Soldier On", was mentioned in an article from the Boston Herald today. Veterans in the Boston area and across the nation are getting some much needed assistance in securing their own rental homes, thanks to a new federal program. Last week, housing authorities from Boston to Northampton began issuing 245 rental assistance vouchers to chronically homeless veterans. In the Boston area, 1,950 former service members are considered homeless. "With the new number of homeless vets that we are creating because of Iraq and Afghanistan, this is focusing on their needs," said U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Somerville), who will make a formal announcement Tuesday

POPSObama's Military Adviser - Worst Chief of Staff Ever?
I was a young LT, a wrench-turner, assigned to the 351st Strategic Missile Wing when McPeak was Chief of Staff. In addition to his most notable legacy --the infamous uniform changes that were immediately repealed when he retired-- McPeak was the man who dissolved Strategic Air Command. We were reassigned to 8th Air Force under his new Air Combat Command, and with the abolishment of SAC went many of the long standing regulations that guided the control and transport of nuclear weapons. It was only a matter of time before the Air Force suffered an embarassing nuclear incident. McPeak's name is still a dirty word in many military circles. He was a deeply unpopular Chief of Staff (October 1990 - October 1994) --though he was, by all accounts, a phenomenal fighter pilot and a real hero of the Vietnam War. The Gates purge was very new-war, very 21st century. McPeak's changes, though originally configured for the Cold War, never really had a place in any century.

POPSSwastika Snafu or Priority Snafu? It just goes to show that appearance is everything. I'll tell you what the 'gaffe' is... It's spending $600,000 for symbolic reasons. Hitler stole the lives of 6 million Jews. Do we have to let him steal an ancient symbol of life, so that it can never be used again? I agree. This really isn't the type of message America needs to be sending to the world: That we will waste $600,000 of taxpayer money to change the way something looks from space. Just brilliant.

POPSOops! The word got out, throw him out again! So, the Navy welcomes back an exemplary sailor who they threw out because he is openly gay. Then they decided the really, really needed him so they ask him to come back, after humiliating him. He agrees to serve his country again. Then the military is embarrassed because the story comes out in the newspaper, and they decided in their ultimate wisdom to toss him out and humiliate him yet one more time. This time, they have humiliated themselves.
