Home Remedies For Bad Breath
jimmy123
by jimmy123  Today 7:39 AM
Bad breath, also known as halitosis, is a very common temporary condition caused by such things as oral dryness, stress, hunger (ketosis), eating certain foods such as garlic and onions, smoking, or poor oral hygiene. Bad breath is caused by odor-producing bacteria that grow in the mouth. When people don't brush and floss regularly, bacteria accumulate on the bits of food left in the mouth and between the teeth. The sulfur compounds released by these bacteria make the breath smell.

CBS News Reporter Criticizes Obama Campaign
pkronfield
by pkronfield  Yesterday 8:13 AM    2
Amazing! This guy probably will lose his job for criticizing Obama's lack of organization and elitism. After all, CBS is part of the Obama propaganda arm. Why does Obama's aircraft smell bad? Chitlns? Naw - the elite don't eat what the common folk eat. Think about it. Someone who hangs around with shady characters and doesn't notice filth, probably wouldn't know if something has a bad odor. I'll tell you this - Obama and Biden have a bad odor, and I hope America wakes up and notices that stench before they cast their votes.

The main pillar of democracy is a well-informed populace. If people's education is low then their perception of the world can be easily manipulated.

Decoding the sense of smell
balthazarus
by balthazarus  10-2-2008    1
In future work, the team plans to work with researchers worldwide, including MIT's Media Lab and Department of Biology, to develop a portable microfluidic device that can identify an array of different odors. Such a device could be used in medicine for the early diagnosis of certain diseases that produce distinctive odors, such as diabetes and lung, bladder and skin cancers, Zhang said. There are also a wide range of industrial applications for such a smell-based biosensing device, he said. One application i can think of is developing an antidote for smelly things, people etc.. :)

centripetal-force spin dryers - gentler & more effective than a wringer
Lexica
by Lexica  9-24-2008
I've been feeling increasingly dissatisfied with the laundry facilities in our apartment building, and schlepping everything to the laundromat isn't terribly appealing, either. We've been looking at a hand-cranked tabletop washing machine, and these spin dryers look like one might be a useful addition.
