POPSHenry's Brain Lives On "Last week, a year after Molaison's death, Annese and his team began cutting the brain into thousands of slices, the first phase of a project that will use new technology to preserve the 83-year-old brain. The work will produce both highly magnified images of the brain that will be available on the Internet and a collection of tissue slices that can be used by researchers worldwide. It will offer a digital map of Molaison's brain in extremely fine detail, a way to re-examine theories based on examinations of him in life, perhaps leading to new insights into the mind responsible for so much of what we know about memory."

POPSFraudulent "Smart Choices" food labeling program crumbles As NaturalNews previously reported (http://www.naturalnews.com/027077_n...), the fraudulent Smart Choices food labeling program was being led by a Tufts University dean named Dr. Eileen Kennedy, a woman who continues to insist that sugary breakfast cereals made with 40% sugar, artificial coloring chemicals and partially-hydrogenated oils are really, really healthy for kids! (Eat more!) To paraphrase her view, they're smart choices because they are "better than a donut."

POPSShelf life testing is an incredible benefit for small scale food producers Shelf life testing is so important for small business food producers. With a shelf life test, you encourage trust in your product and help increase sales and repeat sales. Also, a professional test ensures safety and nutritional quality. It's a smart idea if you produce canned foods or sell prepared food at a farmers market.

POPSWill he jump? While some passers-by like 23-year-old Verena Kircher found the piece "alarming," others like Caroline van Kelst thought it was beautiful. "It is crystal clear that this is not a suicide," she said. "He has definitely got something about him which is majestic, not desperate."

POPSDemocrats Beware, Black Conservatives Are EVERYWHERE
In the Words of my friend, a black conservative: "We're not going to be kept down by the Democratic party any more. Aside from being pro-life and against gay marriage, which most black people are- Republicans also stand for self empowerment..they believe the individual is smart enough and capable of making their own choices, whereas the Democratic party believes government knows how to make those decisions better than people do, and when the government controls more of your life, you start to depend on them more and more like a master..and the slave days are over. Martin Luther King, Jr. and almost every other prominent black historian and civil rights activist were Republicans..it wasn't until the 1960's when the Dems took us hostage..and the people are starting to wake up." POPSBrian Falati Taught Me About Tough Sports While I like the idea of sports, personally I find the whole process so tiring. Sure it may not have any actual use to me, but it makes me feel good about myself, reading about sports that is. Brian Falati sure is extra smart.

POPSList 5 Things That You Love About YOU! I really liked the sentiment of this and felt it was something to be shared. So if the mood takes you add your own 5 in the comments. That I seem to have a calming effect on children and animals, even if I have no idea why... 4. I am a good communicator. 5. I have a sharp wit.

POPS Climate Change Is The Cause For Diminished Winds The study is going to be released and parts like these will of course be ignored by those wanting to push their agenda. The ambiguity of the results is due to changes in wind-measuring instruments over the years, according to Pryor. And while actual measurements found diminished winds, some climate computer models — which are not direct observations — did not, she said. And One of the problems Pryor acknowledges with her study is that over many years, changing conditions near wind-measuring devices can skew data. If trees grow or buildings are erected near wind gauges, that could reduce speed measurements.

POPSIf They All Come Here,It Won't Be Here Anymore Just listening to an Obama-style leftist ( an "organizer{". Surprise?) on Jim Bohannon, basically saying we need to accept the humanity of the masses coming over the border and welcome them. We need to "stop our corp.'s operating in Mexico to stop cutting costs and jobs" so maybe the people will want to stay Why aren't these "intelligent" people very smart? Everything done to stop creating wealth in the name of, and mercy of, immigrants will stop America from being what anyone wants to come to.

POPSSocial T.V.? Pass the Ritalin... Seriously, this just sounds like a terrible idea. I understand that people thirst for making connections with each other but with Twitter, texting, etc. how will our children learn to communicate without an intermediary like a laptop or a smart phone? Ranting here a bit but my point is this: can't we simply watch a drama, comedy, documentary, movie, game, etc. online without all the distractions? People complain about pre-roll or in-video ads online all the time...but its okay to be peppered with commentary every minute or two? Sounds like someone dusted off the old "Pop up video" concept and shoe horned it into a sociaI video application to me. I don't get it.

POPSAre brain bubbles at the heart of the economic crisis? I clipped this from within another clip (you can see that clip here http://tinyurl.com/c6dmua) as i thought it was particularly interesting and worthy of being amplify'd. This idea that too much power is being delegated to too few people based on the notion that they are smart enough to make decisions for us does seem pervasive. Our entire system of government has always been predicated on checks and balances throughout. Yet these days, it does often feel like there are specific individuals in various capacities flying solo.

POPSFinally, harsh realism from Israel And on Thursday, after a Palestinian terrorist used an axe to murder a 13-year-old Jewish boy, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades - a wing of the "moderate" Fatah party - issued a statement claiming responsibility. There is no appeasing such hatred, and demonizing those who say so will not change that fact. "If you want peace, prepare for war." How refreshing to hear an Israeli foreign minister say so.

POPSThanking Her for Opening My Eyes
The first year of the exercise, the local paper printed essays that Elliott's students had written about discrimination, but no one outside the classroom took much notice. The next year, however, a film crew from Canada followed her and she was invited to "The Tonight Show." After that appearance, Elliott returned home to find that she and her family had been blacklisted. Customers stopped patronizing the hotel her parents managed. Passersby called her names and shouted insults. The bowling team that she had long played for replaced her, and she was no longer invited to play bridge. Her children were spat on and knocked down, their belongings defaced. When Darald got a job managing a supermarket in nearby Osage, the family was happy to move, although Elliott stayed on as a teacher in Riceville and continued to conduct the exercise. She still marvels that she wasn't fired, believing it was because four generations of her family had lived in the community. "A
