POPSConvert The UN Building Into NYC Homeless Shelter
wallowing in desperate poverty, with crime so rampant and violent that the police won’t even venture into them. And you have the nerve to come here and investigate us ? The United Nations has become nothing less than a shabby podium used by corrupt third-world demagogues to do what they could never do in any other way - attempt to destroy and bring into disrepute the United States. We’re being nibbled to death by ducks. And we’re letting it happen. Not only that, we’re paying for it. I’d like to see the Obama Administration tell the U.N. to pound sand (but they won’t). Take your investigation to somewhere that needs it, and that list is endless. North Korea, Darfur, Tibet, Cuba….I could go on almost ad infinitum about third world hell holes where people have no rights whatsoever, where food is something that may or may not come your way today - or tomorrow. Where “housing” consists of whatever you can scrape together to try to keep out the cold, where women . .

POPSPassport Proxy It’s a good idea to not flash your official passport in situations where a copy will do. It’s as wise as keeping your real social security card under lock and key until you need it for official purposes. A copied passport is not a forged document. One commenter said: In NZ, it is illegal (you could be fined $10,000 or 3 months imprisonment) for colour copying a passport, bank notes or other offical documents.

POPSMother of teen is mad-as-hell about the Sarkozy, Obama photo Her mom added, "She is really skinny and only ever wears pants. Mayara is timid and ashamed of her body. This was the first time in her life that she wore a dress, and it was borrowed from a friend in the shantytown because she doesn't own one." The high school sophomore, who hails from one of Rio de Janeiro's slums known as favelas, had been picked by UNICEF to join the counterpart Junior 8 forum of teenagers because she stood out as a community volunteer. She shares a single room with her parents and two younger brothers and can't afford the bus fare to attend a good high school. "Why are they looking at her like that? This is a girl who is articulate and intelligent and just wants to do the right thing," the father said. "Instead, they are forcing her into a negative light."

POPSAnti-Irish Sentiment
Irish people were concentrated at the lowest rungs of the employment ladder, often in jobs considered too unsafe for black slaves to carry out because the loss of a slave was an out of pocket expense for the owner. Subsequently, Irish employment was often restricted to the docks and other areas involving a high risk of injury. Irish men were locked in employment as unskilled laborers while women were employed as domestic servants. Their low level jobs and salaries created a vicious circle of under-education and poor employment. The city of Boston was an established home of anti-Irish feeling. This can be largely accredited to the large numbers of Irish immigrants that made their home in that city. By 1855, it was estimated that nearly a third of Boston’s population were foreign-born Irish – 50, 000 out of 160, 000. Boston was so Irish it was dubbed by one visitor as “the Dublin of America”. This caused a great deal of fear because people were afraid they would be overrun by Iri

POPSWater Wars Strike Ahead of Predictions Since 2008, the duration and frequency of rainfall in major parts of the state of Madhya Pradesh has been decreasing. Water levels in all major water bodies have fallen to alarming levels. As a result, most parts of the state including the capital city of Bhopal is receiving almost half of the volume of water required to fulfill the population’s needs. The poor are the most impacted and drinking water is being supplied only about once every 4-5 days in the slums and other poorer localities. There is a simultaneous increase in the number of violent clashes and over 50 of them have been reported in capital city in the month of May. Media reports suggest that since January over 12 people have been killed and dozens other injured mostly fighting over a bucket of water. And such fights are becoming more frequent and of regular occurrence. The situation has also severely impacted the public health and safety system.

POPSUs Indians can be quite confounding sometimes Largely lost in this euphoria is the sense that in the real Mumbai Jamal Malik wouldn't have come within five miles of a TV game show. Of course the film was fantasy, but the fantasy had an ugly core that Indians are blind to. Jamal would not have survived his torture in a real Mumbai police station.

POPS "Off The Cliff"? ~ 45 Years of Democrat Disaster So after letting the compassionate idiots play with the piggy bank for 45 years, we're broke. And for 45 years, the watchdog press stood on the sidelines and vilified anyone that stood against them. Are you tired yet? Obama Comedy Hour Obama turned to a new source of hope this week. He's begun to suggest that the American people will be the key to ending the current crisis. This is a new tack for the S.S. Obama. I thought government was his solution to every problem. Government stealing from the producers to give to the parasites. As the confidence of wealth disappears, He's running out of people to steal from. He needs the ambitious and industrious to go out and create some wealth for him to steal. Just maybe, he's getting an expensive education from all of those tax-dodging friends of his. Obviously, they understand the effect of taxes on the effort to create wealth. http://ironcross11.blogspot.com/2009/03/obama-comedy-hour.html

POPSLearning From Slums "We should not dismiss them because they look ugly, they look messy," says Cruz, a professor at UC San Diego. "They have sophisticated, participatory practices, a light way of occupying the land. Because people are trying to survive, creativity flourishes."
