POPSMugtada al-Sadr keeps the truce for now.... Cont.... Such tales abound. Sudani said she'd heard of troops bursting into a woman's home and arresting her four sons, as a soldier threw the mother to the ground and put his boot on her head. Iraqi troops are said to have seized gasoline canisters from a Sadr City resident and distributed them to others, claiming they were from the government. Ali Jassim, 30, another resident, said his cousin's phone rang at a checkpoint with a ringtone containing a chant about Sadr. When soldiers heard it, they slapped him, he said. Sadr's militia, the Mahdi Army, has suffered a series of setbacks since last spring. It lost control of Basra, Iraq's second-largest city, and the southern city of Amara after Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki ordered his forces to retake those areas. Many charge that Maliki is waging a political war against his former allies in time for fall's provincial elections.

POPSThe Illustrated Results of Obama's "Community Organizing" "Obama's Katrina," explaining that if Obama is running on his record as a community activist and advocate, it's a pretty big deal a housing project he had his hand in is an almost-unlivable slum... Perhaps Obama had good intentions here. Trouble is, he has a decidedly thin resume, and one of the biggest bullet points on it reads Miserable Failure. The poor people living here have gotten the shaft from Obama and his developer buddies. And the mainstream media couldn't care less.

POPSAmerican troops deserve our praise Military leaders believe the Iraqi people are the key to success. Soldiers hope that by helping rebuild this section of the city, they will build trust and a sense of pride. In essence, they're hoping Iraqis will take pride in the new section of city and will push out anyone who wants to disrupt their safety and livelihoods. It's a large task, but it's an example of our military men and women doing whatever it takes to bring safety and prosperity to people half a world away from the United States.

POPSRacially blind or racially just? Is the anger of whites and blacks really comparable? Read this in a comment on a post critical of the Obama race speech, and have heard no one say it better.

POPSHow To Buy A Mansion You Can't Afford.......
.............and Barack Obama's housing problem Within in a month of purchasing their new home, the Obamas began the same process the doctor previously went through. Because Tony Rezko was being indicted, they needed to be distanced from him. So the Obamas hired a lawyer and an architect. Additionally, the Obama’s wanted to put up a fence separating the two properties. On page 21 of the Landmark Ordinances above, it states fences for Historic homes can be no more than 5’ high and must not be visible from the street. The new fence was specially fabricated to conform to historic standards, and the $14,000 cost was billed to Rezko per agreement by Obama and Rezko. Obama states he paid for the architect and Lawyer. Strangely enough the fence actually sits ON the property line between the two lots. Obama agreed to yard maintenance for both properties.
