"At the time there were no customers using the ATM. However, the spray spread into the shopping centre where the ATMs are situated." In conjunction with the police, Absa is using the technology at 11 sites, identified as high-risk by branch managers. If successful, it will be expanded to cash machines around the country. Transporting money is one of South Africa's most risky occupations. In May a Group 4 security guard was killed in Johannesburg when a gang used explosives to blow open a cash transit van. In one of his e-mail blasts expressing his white supremacist views, the man police sources say shot and killed a security guard yesterday at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum told readers that they shouldn't expect to hear from him again. Von Brunn was shot and critically wounded by museum guards. He was about to give away his computer, his primary connection to the fringe world of radical racists. He was living hand to mouth. The e-mails were getting violent in tone: "It's time to kill all the Jews." Von Brunn, who lives in Annapolis, was known for decades to fellow white supremacists who read his elaborate conspiracy theories on his Web site and met him through a network of radical racist groups. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups, has kept an eye on him since 1981. Lately, it has focused on his Web site, www.holywesternempire.org.

Olmert had hopes of a deal on the release of the two year IDF prisoner with Hamas before he left office in two days to go to jail. Looks now like he'll be serving his full term with the rapist president. Maybe if he'd not killed all those Gazan children?!

Maybe it was the misuse of an expendable to provide Sarkozy with a memorable end to his visit and divert attention away from the normal Israeli PM corruption charges now pressing on Olmert. No? Well I certainly don't believe he deliberately shot himself in the head in public and then jumped off a roof!!! One bullet in the head normal prevents subsequent high jinks.

Public suicide itself is unusual. Suicide is a private act, usually seriously done out of view. Not at a public event with two presidents and a PM present. And a band. That was a nice touch. Maybe he was attempting to assassinate Olmert and was taken out first. But shooting yourself and jumping off a height is pushing credibility too far. In a state where Arab mothers and children are responsible for their own murder from the sky, credibility isn't creditable. Where 'judicial assassination' is the norm, this fiasco hardly rates. When the assassin(?) of Israeli PM Rabin is now toasted as a saviour, what should we expect? A state born of terror and murder infects its evil on others. No good god could permit such evil for so long.

POPS Gunman Goes To New Life Church Sunday Service Bourbonnais, 59, had just finished up a hamburger in the cafeteria on the sprawling church campus when he heard gunfire, he recalled. He headed in the direction of the shots as frightened people ran past him looking to escape to safety. "Where's the shooter. Where's the shooter?" Bourbonnais kept yelling, he recalled. Near an entryway in the church, Bourbonnais came upon the gunman and an armed male church security guard who was there with his gun drawn but not firing, he said. Bourbonnais said he pleaded with the armed guard to give him his weapon. "Give me your handgun. I've been in combat, and I'm going to take this guy out," Bourbonnais recalled telling the guard. "He kept yelling, 'Get behind me! Get behind me!' He wouldn't hand me his weapon, but he wouldn't do anything." There was an additional armed security guard there, another man, who also didn't fire, Bourbonnais said. Bourbonnais yelled at the gunman to draw his attention, he said.

Based on information from the Blackwater guards, who said they were fired upon, the State Department determined that the security team's actions "fell within approved rules governing the use of force," according to an official from the department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security. Neither U.S. Embassy officials nor Blackwater representatives interviewed witnesses or returned to the network, less than a quarter-mile from Baghdad's Green Zone, to investigate."

POPSSouthern Gaza town of Rafah falls to Hamas This is horrible. Do the ordinary citizens wish the Israelis were back? Does anyone have a sense that this must be stopped? Cynically I'd say let them all kill each other; but like in Iraq, it's not just the *bad guys* being murdered.
