POPSToo fat to kill? Fla. man uses weight as a defense He argued that at 5 feet 7 and 267 pounds, his obesity made death by lethal injection inhumane because it would be difficult for prison staff to find suitable veins to deliver the deadly chemicals. There were no such difficulties when he was executed this month. POPS5 now in custody in Richmond High gang rape Follow up on previous rape clip I posted. This is one of the most appalling clips I have posted and I was even hesitant in posting it but people have got to be aware of this kind of crime and what happens right here in this country. The clip is not only appalling but the actions of the people that witnessed the rape are as guilty as the people who committed the crime. I just don't understand that not even one person would not come to the aid of this poor girl. I fear that poor girl will never recover to any state of normalcy after what has happened to her. My heart certainly goes out to her and her family. How to help Richmond High School is accepting cards and donations for the victim and her family. They can be mailed to the school at 1250 23rd St., Richmond, CA 94804-1011. Make checks out to the Richmond High Student Fund. POPSThe Personhood of Corporations
I started out with clipping the Mark Morford article called "This is a difficult letter to write, Of course it will never happen to you. Until it does. --- As frightening as becoming a victim of the Capitalist System is... there is even a more shocking event going on right now in the chambers of the Supreme Court. This Bush/Roberts Court is about to give to the greedy corporations the power to gobble up all our freedoms and become the omnipotent POWER over everything and everyone who inhabits this Earth. They (the corp) will have the power to choose who is to be elected here in the USA Excerpt from this article: http://forum.colbertnation.com/tcr/board/message?board.id=politics&thread.id=12732 This new case, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, presents the best opportunity for the Roberts Court to use its five vote majority to totally re-write the face of politics in America, rolling us back to the pre-1907 era of the Robber Barons. THIS IS NO JOKE! thinkin

POPSNASA discovers ice may be extensive on Mars A little over six months later, more images of the same crater showed the ice was gone, leaving only brown dirt where the frozen water had been. That, too, was exactly what the scientists believed would happen: the ice had "sublimated," turning to invisible vapor in the thin, cold Martian atmosphere. POPSDick Cheney rolls in his grave "You might say Dick is not pleased. POPSJesus fears your Facebook profile It is this: For every troubled kid who's killed herself over her lack of Facebook pseudofriends or because someone dissed her fat thighs in her party pix, countless more lives have been saved -- and I mean that quite literally -- via those same Internet mechanisms, by being able to find like-minded souls on the Web, by discovering they are not alone in their fears, their anxieties, their fantasies, their quirks and dark thoughts and fetishes for everything from Twilight to rubber ball gags and horsetail butt plugs and French deconstructionist films. POPSHow many friends are you allowed to have?
Me and My Facebook I was introduced to Mark Morford during the nightmare of the Bush/Cheney or is it the Cheney/Bush administration’s HELLISH 8 year reign. His articles with all its sarcastic truthisms helped me survive during those dark days. After the 2004 horrendous election when the unthinkable of all unthinkables happened and the lunatics occupying our highest house of authority were given 4 more years to wreck havoc. When Bush/Cheney and their minions, smirked at the cameras, I was beside myself in despair. Then Mark Morford wrote an article for New Year’s 2005 and suggested how to survive the gloom of the following years. Amongst other suggestions he said ‘WHY NOT START A BLOG’. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2005/01/05/notes010505.DTL LIGHTBULBS lit up for me, http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com/2005/01/its-not-easy-being-blue.html I’ve been blogging ever since. Thanks Mark for that & thanks for this delightful article about facebook. thinkingblue.blogspot.co

According to a source familiar with the probe, who spoke on condition of anonymity, investigators have found no evidence that links the Weather Underground to the bombing. America's Survival is planning to hold a press conference today at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., to discuss the case and the union's letter. POPSFor Those Undecided Voters... If you are undecided about who to vote for in the US presidential race (HUH?) Maybe, you should check with Obama's standing in the world.... Which translates something like this... In Percentages GEORGE W BUSH = 0% BARACK OBAMA = 99% JOHN McGRUMPYPANTS = 1% (Just Kidding) :-D Excerpt from article: No matter where you live, no matter which nation you hail from or to which political ideology you tend to adhere, the Bush/McCain approach to leadership -- belligerent, militaristic, religiously closed-minded, culturally stagnant, environmentally reckless, fiscally irresponsible -- has resulted in one of the most epic collapses of a world power in modern history, which in turn has made the rest of the world a more volatile, hostile place for all. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2008/10/08/notes100808.DTL&nl=fix

POPSTop 10 Not So Bad Astronomy Pics All Beautiful...from Mark Morford's SF Gate column...3) Top 10 astronomy photos of 2007 (Bad Astronomy). You know what we as a nation, as a people lack more than anything else in this bitter, Bush-gutted age? No, not more porn-happy YouTube-ripoff sites. It's awe. The raw, delicious, mind-bending, perspective shattering, oh-my-God-what-the-hell-is-that kind of awe that makes your id tingle and your ego sigh. Stare in wonder, then, at these photos. Let them seep in. Note for example, how the star known as Mira (a.k.a. "The Wonderful") has a tail that is 13 light years (about 80 trillion miles) long. See two massive, ancient galaxies mingle in a lover's embrace. Note how two of the most beautiful words in the English language might just be "whirlpool galaxy."
